THIS IS WHAT AN OVERNIGHT GREECE FERRY TRIP IS LIKE (ATHENS TO CRETE)

- Our Greece ferry trip was onboard the Hellenic Seaways passenger ferry called Nissos Rodos. It departed from the port in Piraeus and arrived at the port in Heraklion, Crete. The ferry trip was about 9 hours. We got a cabin for the ferry ride so we could sleep and shower while onboard.
In this vlog, we give you a full tour of the ferry. The tour includes a tour of our cabin, boarding the ferry, a walking tour of the dining areas, the outdoor decks, and the luggage storage area.
We recommend getting a cabin for an overnight ferry because you will have a bed and your own bathroom with a shower. We felt that the cabin allowed us to get a good night sleep so that we would be able to be well rested when we arrived in Crete the next morning.
Hellenic Seaways has pet friendly cabins, so Chloe was able to stay in the cabin with us during our trip.

I don't know where you heard it or who told you but not all ferries are laid up for the winter months in Greece. There are many all year round routes to the Greek islands because the locals on the islands depend on these ferries for their goods to be transported or to go to the mainland for administrative reasons, health reasons or other reasons. What is stopped during the winter months are the seasonal summer routes.

The luggage things is so bs. If you got a cabin you can take everything with you lol. And in the summer the ship leaves 4 hours after arrival so you got plenty of time
* With my Adrestia Ship ( Assassin’s Creed Odyssey ) , it took me only 5 minutes of sailing from Athens to -> Heraklion.
It doesnt make sense that it takes a modern ship 9 hours to get to Heraklion.

Have you ever taken an overnight ferry? Tell us about your experience.
Yes-Many times in Europe. I drove from Germany to Crete in 1988 with my two cats. Ferry from Ancona Italy to Patras, drive to Piraeus and Pireus to Crete. It was a trip. My recent ferry rides in Greece (2018) were Pireus to Santorini, then to Crete and return to Pireus. I alway take Minoan lines in Greece. Much nicer. (My opinion)
@@petefoti1041 Wow! The journey from Germany to Crete must've been a long trip. How did your cats like the ferry? My dog Chloe had never been on a ferry, but she did alright. Thanks for the recommendation. We definitely want to go back to Greece to explore more of the islands, so we'll have to try Minoan next time.

Hey ive travelled a lot if ferries before these things shake a lot and things like hangers speakers all rattle there so bring earplugs or noise cancelling headphones!

@@OneWayTicketAliHolly No problem as a young man that has travellled from Athens to Chios many times i gotta tell you this you need to know.
And inside the cabins the noise is only a tad bit better,also one tip bring a jacket with you they put the ac on the MAX
Oh and also if you want pet friendly cabines make sure the rooms that you get do have enough space if theres a way to check of course

What if I don’t get a cabin? I only see reserved seats and deck options
Deck option is you don’t have a seat which means you can sit in the lounges if you find a spot or on the floor which is where many sleep

Yeah, it was a 4 bed cabin, but only 2 of the beds were available. We loved our time in Greece!

When we took the ferry, I don't remember music or dancing.
There isnt but there is music the rattling of everything on the ship
