    Yes yes yes! Had my KZ "longer than my wife" until I sold literally everything. Such an underrated fun bike. I miss it.

    I had the 1977 Kz650 then later the 1981 Kz1000 both were black. I miss those bikes. I own Honda cruisers now. Times have changed/

    These bikes sound so cool. I have one with a 750 top end bored out to 810cc. But, had to park it yrs ago. Started to leak at cylinders. Need to get that bike out rebuild and rip on it again.

    My 77 has a round front brake resevuar this is either a 78/79 or it has had a newer one put on. It doesn't really matter these are still my favorite bikes by far , out of all my bikes. Had a 79 tricked out HOT ROD in 1980 and am restoring an original 77 now.I wish I could afford 1 of every year.when I win the lottery I will buy EVERY SINGLE ONE I CAN FIND. My 2018 honda is nice but the new bikes lack something ( some call it soal) I call it HAPPINESS/ like a REAL nice pair of boobs without the bullshit that usually comes with them.by the way these things like to be ridden hard. This guy is pretty easy on it, good oil and ring the crap out of it / this is no snowflake just my 2cents worth.

    I used to hitch a ride from work on one of these almost every day. Back in the late 70's carrying a helmet practically guaranteed you'd get picked up by a biker. My driver insisted on exceeding the ton every time and taking every turn fast enough to get whipped by the grass on the roadside. there were some sissy bars along the seat my hands never left till I got off but he kept complaining I wasn't leaning far enough and eventually insisted I hang onto him. It was a good lesson in overcoming homophobia!

    Not much point in revving into 10k, it stops making power around 8-8 and a half. All your doing is over stressing/ damaging the engine.

      It was my first bike when I was 22 years old. I owed a 1978 KZ650C Custom for three years. Two months after break in, I took it with two friends from Detroit area, to L.A. then Houston then home. Other than replacing the rear tire that didn't like the desert the KZ never missed a beat. Check out johnnysvintagemotorcycles on youTube in Ohio. They specialize in old Kawi's. Remarkable how many KZ 650-1000 "barn finds" ... 35-45 year old bikes ... start on the first try.

    Sucks having to ride from stop sign to stop sign between 1st & 2nd gear not much of a road test ... nice bike but if I lived in that environment I would buy a moped.

    U think ill keep up with my friends 600 sport bikes with this? I saw one for 2k looks clean 30k miles

    • @dviper11
      @dviper11  ปีที่แล้ว

      Depends…You gotta consider power to weight. The kz650 a quick bike but tips the scales at 465lb with 64hp. Later model sports bikes with lighter smaller frames would prob hold the edge. ESP something like a CBR600
