Sign of the times. People can't just go watch a game anymore. They need to be entertained with all sorts of bells and whistles at these stadiums. And heaven forbid they have to endure a couple hours of cold weather. The stadium is just fine, they just wanna keep up with the Jones's (Jerry Jones, that is).
Play in the Horseshoe in Columbus for two years, like the ORIGINAL Browns should have done! Fans will LOVE taking party buses to the capital, eating and drinking on the way down I-71 South, and passed out on the way home north! The Browns can pick up more fans by playing in central Ohio and possibly pirate some Bengal fans! GOOOO BROWNS in '23!!!
Lifelong Browns fan but this stadium stuff in general is just out of hand. Stadiums should be once in 50 year projects for cities. This stadium is barely 24 years old. The Browns previous home, Cleveland Municipal Stadium, for all its faults, served the city for 64 years. And it housed the Indians, Rams, and local college teams. It was utilized nearly every day April - December. Hell it’s STILL being useful to the city as the rubble from its demolition was used to create artificial reefs in Lake Erie for fishing and diving. It’s just flabbergasting to me that stadiums constructed in the late 90’s and early 2000’s are now starting to be considered obsolete. Stadiums are terrible allocations for tax dollars: they generate little economic activity per dollar spent and benefit billionaire owners almost exclusively. Now they are demanding tax supported renovations or tax funded new stadiums after 20 years. Insanity.
I agree redeveloping, renovating and replacing are all very different things. What the browns need is a renovation and lakefront redevelopment. An awning is a good idea but a roof takes away everything that makes Cleveland different. By adding a full on roof, they take away the snow and frigid winds that give the team something that only Cleveland and Buffalo have; the ability to play through anything.
They will never play at Progressive Field. There is also no plan of new stadium. Not one word of it. There is no other Lakefront property. I live in Cleveland. They haven't even talked about it at all!!!
Honestly the stadium sucks. We should move it to where the IX Center is build hotels and accommodations on the west side by the airport and then build luxury hotels and condominiums on the Lakefront
Public money = Shenanigans: Metro's throwing our money around to desperately keep NFL/MLB teams from making the obvious choice of going 5-10 miles away and prove that stadiums do NOT need to be downtown. Adding a roof is a smoke screen. Proof: They never open them. Where did the 49ers go? Where do the Bears want to go? Where did the Braves go? Where do the White Sox want to go? Hint: this has nothing to do with weather. College programs are not talking roofs because leaving is not an option.
Every damn team deserves a new stadium with the tax payers covering 100% of the financing. LOL, what a wast of money and resources this nonsense has become.
They need at least a retractable roof. Its completely ignorant that they only use the current stadium like 20 days a year max. With a dome the team, city, county, state can make so much more money on hosting other events.
It’s part of Cleveland’s identity to freeze the other team. Clearly you aren’t a hardcore fan. I’ve been to a game where the temperature was below freezing in the upper bowl, and it was still very enjoyable. Not that hard to bundle up.
@nascariscool1968 clearly I've been obsessed with the Browns since 1983. How many Superbowls has that ignorant cold weather got us? We got curbstomped by a southern dome team last season in one of our magical freeze the other team games against the shitty Saints. Have some common sense before you go attacking someone else's differing opinion.
This stadium stuff is getting ridiculous. It’s gotten to the point where the game on the field almost feels secondary.
once the season starts no one gonna give a dang about stadiums, it's an Off season thing

Just do the renovations during the off season like the jays did seemed to work out pretty good! Do step by step
No they need a new stadium. Renovations only is pointless. Get a dome so we can host more national events in Ohio.
Here before Titan but happy you are still talking Browns. I personally would rebuild it not renovate. Happy your getting subs and getting bigger. LFG
Buffalo loves their snow games! You can’t that element away from them!

Need to make playoffs more often instead of sitting at home at the end of the regular season.
If the browns want to get a new stadium, they need to actually run the team well and make the playoffs
I believe there was language in the sale of the browns to Haslam about moving the team. Univ of Akron stadium has about 35 k capacity for temporary
Bri Incision Field where the Akron Zips play is almost a 40k stadium. The Browns could play there temporarily!
the only Browns fans wanting a roof are ones that are middle age or older and don't want to complain about the cold, yet live in Cleveland still
The browns should definitely build an new lakefront stadium right where they are with translousent roof and you can make all that money back.

My sentiments exactly..
What about playing in Youngstown where the college team Penguins play? 82 miles from CLE-Land.
stadium is too small
And it’s a terrible facility. They should play in Canton for the 2 years
The stadium is not that old..
It is for an NFL stadium
@@Chuckletno its not
@@bobbowie9350 average NFL stadium lasts 20 years. We’ve had ours for 24 years
so that means half of the stadiums are over 20 years old ..
They will never play at Progressive Field. There is also no plan of new stadium. Not one word of it. There is no other Lakefront property. I live in Cleveland. They haven't even talked about it at all!!!
Slippin Jimmy Haslam, The same guy investigated by the FBI? And ripped off truckers with his gas stations? Seems like a nice guy
and saved an MLS original team
Honestly the stadium sucks. We should move it to where the IX Center is build hotels and accommodations on the west side by the airport and then build luxury hotels and condominiums on the Lakefront
Also make it a dome so you can still use it as a convocation center
Current stadium 🏟 is fine

Matt bro we got two teams in the playoffs
Update on bills new stadium 🏟 construction 🚧 going on?
They will still be the Charlie Browns
The Browns should build new stadium with a roof like vikings stadium.
Definitely not. Part of the team is snow and freezing games.
Build a new stadium there and dont use public funds pay for it yourself Haslam
