Microtonal music or microtonality is the use in music of microtones-intervals smaller than a semitone, also called "microintervals". It may also be extended to include any music using intervals not found in the customary Western tuning of twelve equal intervals per octave. In other words, a microtone may be thought of as a note that falls between the keys of a piano tuned in equal temperament.
Whenever you see 'Ustaad' word written with a Pakistani Singer's name, understand that he is a MASTER OF HIS CRAFT. This title is only given to people who have mastered their art.
This is without doubt one of the most underrated songs of Coke Studio. Unfathomably great vocals. I don't think another singer of his calibre exists anywhere in the world.

Ustaad Naseer Ud Sami was doing "Ley Kaari" at the end of the track. In Sub-Continental classical music the "Ley Kaari" is a "improvised variations of notes in a specific beat/rhythm". such variations are strictly improvised by following the rules of that particular classical composition. this a very common and basic feature of Sub-Continental classical music but to master it requires years of practice and learning.
At last !! I’ve been recommending this one to vocal coach reactions. This is a masterpiece by a maestro of maestros. An exemplary auditory journey. Glad you found him. BTW - his hand gestures are conducting himself and the musicians accompanying his performance.

@@mimasam5528 This was released at times when TH-cam was banned all across Pakistan. Also coke studio didn't even have their official TH-cam channel untill season 7. Hence season 1-6 were uploaded on producer's own TH-cam channel (Rohail Hyatt). With no social media marketing, even 1M views was considered a very big thing at that time. These songs gained popularity in Television and radio.

Ustad Naseeruddin’s great great grandfather was the music teacher and court musician of the last Emperor of India, Bahadur Shah II. His teacher Munshi Raziuddin Ahmed was the court musician of the last Prince of the Hyderabad State.

Ustad Samiji is great no doubt, but I like to request you to listen Usad Bade Gulam Ali Kha Sahab in the same raga Adana - `Raga Adana 1 - by Ustad Bade Ghulam Ali Khan sahab.'
That low part is a part of raag. I am sure someone with classical music knowledge will explain later.
