This song is actually a story of a tribe where it did not rain for a long time (thus the rain at end) so in order to make it rain the elders of that tribe used to burn coal and use it's smoke and after cooling it down the coal itself to paint the face to bring rain.Also the men didn't have blood on their hands but rather it was henna or hina which is a custom in the northern tribes that men will put henna on their palm and then close their hands into a fist,this would then result in a pattern on their hand which was unique to every individual. :D
