I'm curious how you can play those old PC games on a modern machine/PC, do you have a retro machine/PC to play those old PC games? Btw, great video content, bro. Please continue making the next part, for obscure PC games from 2000s, because there are still many obscure and low-budget PC games that I think are pretty decent and good.
Thanks for the kind words! I do indeed get these games running on my desktop PC - but it is definitely a very complicated process; it's different for each game and often involves doing lots of googling followed by experimentation and lots of blind luck. And lots of cursing too. It's a real headache, and makes creating these videos extremely time consuming. I would like to continue this series into the 2000s, but ... I gotta say, it might be a while before I start. I'm a little burned out after making the 1999 one, and not looking forward to jumping right back into it. Might be a few months before I get to it...
Great list! I played a bunch of the demos, but only played to the end of two of the included games - Recoil & Drakhan. Most of the games I never even remember hearing about, so kudos for that! For Drakhan though, I think it would've been nice if you'd included a clip of the dragonback gameplay, as that was the far better part of the game compared to the on-foot melee combat IMO.
I don't really remember but I'm pretty sure I played some of these in a computer class in early 2000s. There was a ton of interesting stuff installed by students and I never played any of this since then lol
I have one question: is the footage original? If so, how can you play these games in modern systems? Are you using emulation or an old computer? The only ones I know are Carnivores 2, amazing game, Malvinas 2032 and Prince of Persia 3D (idk if I would call this one obscure). And there must be a lot more obscure PC games, mainly japanese (although most of these are visual novels and it would be kinda boring to make a vid with lots of them), korean and chinese releases.
