The shroud IS the focus distance. So in your case, you’re just adding more work. Put the shroud on, lower it until it touches your wood piece and the laser is focused. Maybe I’m missing something?

Would you happen to have any advice on how to get more leveled cuts? for some reason all my cuts have a slant that even after leveling the laser, table, and wood I still get that issue
