Growing up, i grew up with this version of Knight Rider. i watched both the original and this remake. Both of them were great in my opinion. They kept the same theme-just made it more futuristic. It sounds great! i know for older fans, the original is better. Sure, the new one had flaws. But, most shows do! i wish they would bring this show back -
You and me both, my Dad got to meet the cast and he got me a picture of them with Kitt. Heck would love to see Knight Rider back, just one thing. Please don't make Karr a transformer.

The 2008 theme song seems better IMO but the Firebird KITT looks more cool! But I still love both the 1982 and the 2008 Knight Riders. I wonder what the next KITT will be? My guess is the new C7 Corvette.

If they actually kept the theme tune in the style of the first 45 seconds, just a purely modern revision of the original version it would have been a hugely better intro theme tune.
The show was tolerable. They went way over the top with making the new KITT into a transformer. But the show was tolerable. I think the writer's strike and the economic crash is what killed the show.
@@jayive34 I like the Trans am but it doesn't beat a GT500 in terms of looks. But the Ford advertising in this show was insane, they brought out the GT500KR (King of the Road edition), Ford transit van, Ford F150, Old mustang, and more.
If I had to choose between which car I wanted, I would honestly choose this one because I like the look of the car all around, I like the look of the mustang and my favorite is they way the red lights go in and out. Still love the original better but then again, the new one didn't have as much time to fully develop like the original did.

I've never seen the show... I really want to, because... well, it's knight rider, what more do I have to say? I really want to see the movie and the episode where K.A.R.R. is introduced. Mainly because Peter Cullen voices KARR and he's frigging aweome, but hey! So... that's my opinion.... Love the song!!

Sure it was over the top with the transforming crap but that also had to do with their partnership with Ford for advertising their vehicles
I get that not many fans of the original liked it but, c'mon! It was meant for a newer generation of fans, I think. The whole transformation concept, sure it was not as believable, but wasn't it meant to be futuristic? Anyway, those who said it should've been a Camaro, there were none at the time. They were absent from 2003-2009 I think. Which helped spike on the Mustang sales. I myself love Ford Mustangs.
I wasn't around back when the original was out, but I was about 4 years old when this show came, and I loved it. Unlike many other fans of the 1982 Knight Rider, the 2008 one was my childhood. And I do understand why many didn't like the show and the theme.
It's a pretty bad edit. It's a shame Chris Tyng didn't make a longer version as it's a pretty grungy heavy rock spin on the original but as it peaks far too early you couldn't get a decent extended version out of it using any loops. At least the original version has a completely original composition 4 minute version on the Knight Rider suite by Stu Phillips himself which includes additional faster and slower tempo themes from the series soundtrack.
Btw mustang transformation is real just without those pipes being guns and it can not transform while moving that fast.....yet lol but the transformation he literally had in one of those mustangs are mustang to chrysler 300
While I like both the 1980's and the 2008 Knight rider I understand why the 80's one is liked more than the 2008 remake While the 2008 one has a number of flaws I still find it interesting and entertaining Plus I instantly liked the 80's version when I started watching videos from the YT channel that posts clips from the episodes
the problem this show had was simple really, the remake I mean. There was no bad guy or at least a consistent villain to loathe and root against.. and they made the cars abilities over the top... less is more, keep it simple!

I think I heard the final episode revieled that KITT was revieled to be the one sending them on missions and KITT was no longer in the trans am body. The new series with the Knight 3000 car voiced by Val Kilmer ignored those other two shows and continued the storyline more faithfully. Now if only they had had better writers it may have lasted alot longer.

Well the original idea; KITT was supposed to be a Camaro, but, unfortunaly The Transformers 2007 Movie cames first to pick the camaro and that caused to switched to the GT500KR for the new KITT.

I'm not into the Ford v. Chevy argument (could last for days and personal experience), but K.I.T.T. will ALWAYS be a Trans AM/Firebird hybrid. Having said that, I would prefer a F-150 over a GM product if a TUNDRA was not an option. I just blew up TH-cam.

This knight rider tune is slightly longer than the tv series which is fine,the only problem is that the viewers of this site are waiting too long the KNIGHT RIDER THEME TUNE is 0.43 seconds long not 2.10 seconds try finding a quicker alternative theme tune to KNIGHT RIDER.
I think they should have converted a Camero like they recently did for the Rockford Files car. They could have easily converted one to a old school Trans Am and used that.

This was a good try to reboot the series. A good try. I liked it. Sure, it had lots of flaws, but nevertheless, i liked it.
