New Control Arm with Ball Joint from 1AAuto.com trq.video/ib-1...
Control arms are a crucial part of the suspension system of your vehicle. They not only carry the load of the vehicle to the wheel, but they typically also maintain its alignment. Control arms are typically large and strong, so you may be surprised it needs replacing. They contain rubber bushings for smoother rides at the cost of eventual wear, or integrated ball joints that require replacing the entire arm when they wear. This video shows you how to install a new quality TRQ lower control arm with ball joint in your 2006-12 Ford Fusion.

This TH-cam mechanic makes great car repair videos. I have to replace my right front cintrol arm tomorrow but will have the mechanic shop do mine. I don't have the right tools to do it at home and need professionals to tackle this one.At least I learned more about my 2011 Ford Fusion and acquired more knowledgeable maintenance skills for future reference, thank you
You dont have to take both sub frame brackets off. If you just remove the bracket on the side you are working on, you can pry down the subframe enough to get the bolt out.

@@TRQ Thanks for your great videos. Sometimes a bit scary taking both down. Most of us TH-cam mechanics are working off jack stands in driveway.
Do you really need to remove the steering shaft?
Negative I had to do both sides as the 1 didn't drop till I did both
@@TRQ Your way is complicated, but I assume this is what the service manual says to do. Lol
I never would have got this done without this video seriously thanks. I am a pretty good backyard mechanic but this is my first fusion technically I have the Milan but same difference LOL. But again never would have known about the steering drop and everything else. thanks so much.
Great video but some comments for all:
#1. Be cautious running nuts/bolts with an impact gun and then torqueing them. It can be easy to overtighten with the impact, and then the torque wrench gives an immediate click. It'll seem the fastener is properly torqued, when it is actually overtightened.
#2 There's no need to use loctite in locations if the factory didn't. You're just making it difficult for the next guy - which might be you. Especially with red loctite, which generally requires heat to break free.
Thank you so much. I just did this for a friend. Your video taught me so much.
Another awesome video! Thanks for all the details like torque specs! Nice job! Very helpful!
Doesn't anyone use p.b. blaster' any more? 🔧
I have done this without taking exhaust apart.

To get the ball joint bushings off I cut the ball joint off a half inch above the bushing then put it inside an impact socket and watch the threaded side with a sledge hammer. Pops right out and it doesn't bend the shoulders of the bushing like the tie rod puller does.

4:57 begins the smoothest film ever made
why would u not use washers on those bolts? good luck getting them loose later
Very professional video.
Such helpful videos, thanks a million!
Can u please post a video on heat seat element ford fusion 2012 how to change ir
Can I do this without disconnecting the steering column?
Yes.
Nice job! Perhaps a little to involved for a DIY'ER without a lift.
My exhast is all welded together, no nuts to take it apart. I need to do this job, do you think i could get away with doing all that with the exhaust all in one peice?
Using red loctite????? Screw the next guy right 🤣
Is there any other way to remove that long screw without having to move and remove all that?
What would symptoms be to replace this
So the subframe bolt snapped and is there a way to get that out so i can replace it
What size is the bolt ?
Could anyone confirm if this bushing is hydraulic? I have seen a lot of evidence that this bushing could be hydraulic and its the only hydrobushing on this car.
I want to know how he got those exhaust flange nuts off! Lol
can someone tell me the name of that tool he uses at 3:36? Not the actual tool i know thats an air ratchet but im wondering what do you call the bit that hes using that allows him to bend and manuever the socket bits like that? Could someone maybe give me a link to such a tool/accessory.
Universal joint
Trash parts doesn’t last ! Great video tho!
Do I have to have the arms programmed to my car after having them replaced?
I have electrical power steering with, service power steering now/service advance track
List the socket size under tools needed...
Hey torque I don’t like the term a couple loving bonks maybe let your viewers know that not all circumstances are the same when your not working on a vehicle that’s been takin apart a million times.
The most stupid design ever! Ford doesn't look at German cars how smart their suspension is put together? Even the Jaguar X-Type which was designed and made by Ford had very nice and simple front suspension
