Dr. Robotnik's Ring Racers v2.3 - Sealed Star 13 "Towers" - In 1'31"57 as Fang

I don't think they thought about the Garden Top having its hitbox persist after it was put in hit pause to be completely honest with you. I also haven't hit this claw in this stage with an item that isn't an Orbinaut, Jawz, or Garden Top.
...I hardly actually have a strategy on this one, but here's what I've thought up.
Drive perfectly straight until the turn, outward/neutral drift. When going up the slope, use rings to maintain speed, without being too close to the claw.
Drift outwards into Garden Top, try to swerve to the middle left of the ledge after. Start riding the Garden Top in the air, throw when its S path will intercept the claw... and you've got it!
You can launch yourself off the Garden Top where you can get a speed shoe before the emerald is released, but it's not that much of a time save and is harder to execute. Swerve through that hallway bit, use rings if you crash into a wall.
Not sure trying to get those 2x Sneakers is a good idea... considering they're next to blue springs that will launch you off the map.
Try not to out speed the emerald in the halfpipe, but if you do, just start E-Braking, it'll run straight into you if you're in the middle.
The platform bit should be fine, just don't take unnecessary risks.

I managed to pull this off once, and I'm sure they expect someone who's good with the top to completely shred the emerald here, otherwise why would they give it to you right at the start?
