I appreciate your response to that negative comment. I have felt the way the commenter has before, simply due to financial restraints; niche perfume is not cheap, and neither is it necessary - it is luxury, extra, etc. When we enjoy watching you sample full bottles of magnificent perfume week after week, it can irk some who wonder - what deals must be going on to make this affordable? I commend your business sense: to partner with Kevin, local perfume shops, using your travel and cinematography skills, organising trips and tours, as well as the regular quality content released regularly. I understand I can't justify financially buying niche perfumes larger than 1ml samples, but I can't be cross that you have organised your life around making it possible - as well as entertaining, educating and inspiring others :) your channel makes me want to try perfume and know what they smell like. Not just surface level, but repeated wearings, note taking etc. Keep up the good work :) The rest of us will have to work harder if we want to smell as good as you! Jason

I recognised early in the NFC journey that I had to partner with a retail store and show them that I can trade off my skill as a producer of content that differs from anything on TH-cam (within Fragcom) in exchange for the ability to access more fragrances.....and BOOM, I met Kevin and so many other things have exploded from this initial connection that it sometimes astounds me; to which I'm really grateful for🙏🏽 Thank you again for taking the time to jump in and share. I live in the North of England, in Leeds. We've got a Penhaligons shop I still need to visit ! Milan is unlikely - I am a humble high-school teacher with 4 kids, so solo luxury holidays are not for this stage of life. Maybe in a decade :)

Always enjoy the content and it is a touchy subject about integrity. Gifted bottles and collaborations with houses are a two edged sword. In one sense you can give more diversity of fragrances to the viewers but then some viewers will think it will make you disingenuous. I have not been gifted any bottles yet on my channel but I am starting to get offers. Nevertheless the way you describe the fragrances is poetic and I love the channel❤.

I think its normal you get stuff, pr etc gifts, then you tell us what they smell like, we decide if it sounds interesting to sample or sniff and then get. You do it great ❤ Keep up the good work 😊

Love Perris. Those who think Santal 33 is the be all end all of sandalwood, get your nose on Santal du Pacifique by Perris Monte Carlo. What a gorgeous fragrance. I need Encens Sacré in my life, as an incense lover. :)

I don't see why questioning someone's integrity is this big negative, as if this frag community doesn't have influencers that basically just recommend off of getting free bottles, I appreciate you taking the time to address it respectfully, as I sample fragrances I'm more suspicious of the TH-cam reviewers , because I honestly don't love all the decant fragrances I purchase, I enjoy your content style and structure, but I realize the true proof is in the wearing and subjective view of the individual. I cannot afford to sample everything and I'm sticking to my "Fab 5" for full bottle purchase after sampling.

I love the energy Marcelo and the little stories of yours connecting them with the scent. It is obvious that you speak from your heart and are very passionate. To be honest I stopped following/watching any other perfume reviewers on YT.
This whole thing was started by another TH-camr who doesn't understand that the crux of this platform is entertainment. People will like what they like, and always sample first
If a reviewer unwraps the plastic from a free bottle and immediately claims it is earth shattering and drops all sorts of panties, then I would agree that is entertainment, and rather questionable at that. I kinda prefer perfume content coming from the heart and understand people being sceptical seeing a reviewer for the first time. Which is by no means a good reason to piss in someone’s boot after seeing fore mentioned video. Thanks for being Marcello, frank. 😉
@gerardzonjee definitely agree with you about that. I like Marcelo's content because of his conversational style. People have biases, and it's up to the individual consuming the media to discern that

I understand that some folks get upset with misleading videos on fragrances, but I think people need to understand that perfume is a luxury. Fragrance houses are still a business and cutting marketing costs by using a TH-camr is a lot cheaper than paying the 10's of thousands of dollars for a whole marketing and PR department to sell a new fragrance For the price of a bottle, and a few hundred dollars, that latest release can reach half a million of a House's target audience and will sell more than going through traditional media while simultaneously saving costs. It's a win win for the business and the content creator. As a consumer, we just need to be a lot more skeptical with it
Encens Sacré is so underwhelming... Opening is interesting, but the dry down is just a boring overload of woody amber smelled 1000 times. Sad. Buio is not for me because I am not a fan of cade oil. But it's really good crafted, as dark has MF universe. It gives me some vibes of Corpus Equus but not as smoky.
This brought a sigh of sadness when I read your comment @franceiroca😓 I really love Encens Sacre. The fragrance took my by surprise on the opening and early stages of the evolution, but then delivered a gentle incense (that I was hoping to gain) on the drydown; the sillage it creates is wonderful....but alas not for you😢 And yes Buio is clearly 5 Star General or Supreme Leader territory.....it takes no prisoners!🤯 Thank you for jumping into the conversation and sharing your experience @franceiroca; I love hearing other experience's, brings balance to the conversation💫

I know, has our noses take habits, the quantity of new raw materials evolves with time. Taking example of the Hedione which was first time introduced in Eau Sauvage in little quantity and now is used sometimes in overdose. But problem with overdose of woody ambers, it that it literally take over the rest of the perfume, make it linear, over powerful and lacking of finesse. A bit is ok. It's kinda signature of masculine perfume of last 2000s but overusing make a perfume a disaster for the nostrils. I don't see why questioning someone's integrity is this big negative, as if this frag community doesn't have influencers that basically just recommend off of getting free bottles, I appreciate you taking the time to address it respectfully, as I sample fragrances I'm more suspicious of the TH-cam reviewers , because I honestly don't love all the decant fragrances I purchase, I enjoy your content style and structure, but I realize the true proof is in the wearing and subjective view of the individual. I cannot afford to sample everything and I'm sticking to my "Fab 5" for full bottle purchase after sampling.
I love that you have your due diligence by 'testing for yourself'....which is the best test of all.

This whole thing was started by another TH-camr who doesn't understand that the crux of this platform is entertainment. People will like what they like, and always sample first
If a reviewer unwraps the plastic from a free bottle and immediately claims it is earth shattering and drops all sorts of panties, then I would agree that is entertainment, and rather questionable at that. I kinda prefer perfume content coming from the heart and understand people being sceptical seeing a reviewer for the first time. Which is by no means a good reason to piss in someone’s boot after seeing fore mentioned video. Thanks for being Marcello, frank. 😉
@gerardzonjee definitely agree with you about that. I like Marcelo's content because of his conversational style. People have biases, and it's up to the individual consuming the media to discern that

I understand that some folks get upset with misleading videos on fragrances, but I think people need to understand that perfume is a luxury. Fragrance houses are still a business and cutting marketing costs by using a TH-camr is a lot cheaper than paying the 10's of thousands of dollars for a whole marketing and PR department to sell a new fragrance
For the price of a bottle, and a few hundred dollars, that latest release can reach half a million of a House's target audience and will sell more than going through traditional media while simultaneously saving costs. It's a win win for the business and the content creator. As a consumer, we just need to be a lot more skeptical with it
Encens Sacré is so underwhelming... Opening is interesting, but the dry down is just a boring overload of woody amber smelled 1000 times. Sad. Buio is not for me because I am not a fan of cade oil. But it's really good crafted, as dark has MF universe. It gives me some vibes of Corpus Equus but not as smoky.
This brought a sigh of sadness when I read your comment @franceiroca😓 I really love Encens Sacre. The fragrance took my by surprise on the opening and early stages of the evolution, but then delivered a gentle incense (that I was hoping to gain) on the drydown; the sillage it creates is wonderful....but alas not for you😢
And yes Buio is clearly 5 Star General or Supreme Leader territory.....it takes no prisoners!🤯

I have a hard time with the overtake of Woody amber in perfumery.
I know, has our noses take habits, the quantity of new raw materials evolves with time. Taking example of the Hedione which was first time introduced in Eau Sauvage in little quantity and now is used sometimes in overdose.
But problem with overdose of woody ambers, it that it literally take over the rest of the perfume, make it linear, over powerful and lacking of finesse.
A bit is ok. It's kinda signature of masculine perfume of last 2000s but overusing make a perfume a disaster for the nostrils.
Linking you a good article of Nez talking about that, you may have to translate because it's French, but being an perfume lover, it would be very interesting you discuss about the problem of woody ambers in modern perfumery here in TH-cam and for your community.
