Here are some disadvantages to MG Comet EV that made me go for Tata Tiago EV Tech lux variant. (These are personal opinions only and i am sure that there maybe advantages to MG comet too including the lower price. Feel free to do your own research and diligence while making your choice)
1. No Fast Charging - Hence strictly only city use, can be considered as second or third car. Cannot be considered as a primary car, if you want to go for a long distance travel and plan your journey using available fast chargers- Hence time required for ROI will be longer.
2. Horn is as if it is fitted inside the car - loud and annoying. (Since the front engine compartment is almost not there)
3. Front co-passenger seat belt rubs against the neck
4. Access to back seat is difficult - since only two doors and seats have to be slid to the front -almost impossible for elderly people
5. Sitting in the back seat is uncomfortable ( sitting in knees raised position) not meant for long drives
6. Hardly any boot space- most basic requirement for any car
7. Top speed is 100kmph vs 119kmph (Tiago EV) - High way drives/overtaking may be a challenge
8. More body roll while changing lanes due to Tall boy design with 12" wheels
9. 12" TIres with suspension of less travel - less comfortable, Less road grip than Tiago EV (14" Tires) and better suspension
10. Front Bonnet access is limited- user cannot replace/disconnect lead-acid battery if required, require visit to service station
11. Sound system is basic (2 Speakers and 2 Tweeters) vs Tiago EV's top variant's Harman Kardan (4 speakers and 4 tweeter) system.
12. No cruise control - Some buttons on steering wheel are just dummy buttons
13. White interior (light color tone) will get soiled easily (especially seat fabric and door armrests)
14. Driver's dashboard display font size is small, making it difficult to read the information displayed.
15. The design is boxy and odd - Not everyone will like it. (purely my subjective opinion)
16. Doors are large - Hence it may be difficult to open the doors sufficiently for all persons to come out in tight parking spots.
17. Front crumple zone is limited- Crash test - NCAP rating not available- Tiago EV has an NCAP rating of 4
18. Large fixed windows at the back - rear passenger cannot lower windows if he requires.
19. No glove box (Cooled glove box available in Tiago EV top variant)

I have different opinion , comet is definitely a small car. But it’s more premium. So I would like to place it as city premium car . A secondary car for people who wants to save money, save traffic and premium.
Tiago is more of a typical car. May be people who wants a primary car can think of this
Comet is best for long-term use, btw how much you're getting in Tiago ev 150 km?
Comet has the best and most efficient battery. it can go more than 200 km.
I totally will disagree ti the auto taxi thg. It’s an unnecessary pre judgement. Drive it and then see. It wil impress you . But just fr a city ride. Imagine an EV auto now will cost more than 4 lakhs. So let’s make that into a stylish AC feature filled car. Makes sense now? Haha

Instead of this the comparison of Tiago could have been done with citroen ec3 which is more similar or little bigger. Comet is altogether a smaller and different segment and no ev is there for comparison. But is a well built car basically for city with range from 150 to 180 kms with AC (city / highway). Tiago buyers will not choose Comet instead they will prefer an ec3. Every model has its pros and cons and its buyers based on their requirement.
Also would like to correct you guys! Primary car is one which you drive daily and not a 2nd one. My choice goes to Comet cos you will use it daily in city as a primary car. Thought process needs to change. Secondary car is the one used in weekends or for long drives....

തീരെ അറിവ് ഇല്ലാത്ത ആളുകളെ marketing ടീമിന് കിട്ടിയാല് sales നടക്കും , അല്ലാത്തവര് tiago ev എടുക്കും ...ഇന്നത്തെ കാലത്ത് 2023 ല് fast charging ഇല്ലാത്ത EV കാര് പത്തു ലക്ഷം കൊടുത്തു വാങ്ങുക എന്നത് ചിന്തിക്കുന്നത് തന്നെ മണ്ടത്തരം

ഇതുവരെ ഹാപ്പി ആണ്. എന്റെ use ന് comet ആണ് ബെസ്റ്റ്. Tiago വേണ്ടവർ അത് എടുക്കട്ടെ.

വളരെ നല്ല വാഹനമാണ് എംജി COMET. ഫുൾ ചാർജിൽ 230 KM റേഞ്ച് കിട്ടിയ, ഒരു വർഷത്തോളം ഉപയോഗിച്ച ആളുടെ അനുഭവം ഞാൻ വിഡിയോ ചെയ്തിട്ടുണ്ട്❤️❤️❤️
Ice car ev ആകിയതാണ് tiago... but proper ev platform ആണ് comet... ഈ പ്ലാറ്ഫോം ഇൽ 10ലക്ഷം വണ്ടികൾ ഇറങ്ങിയിട്ടുണ്ട്..അതിലെ ലറെസ്റ് iteration ആണ് air ev (ഇന്ത്യയിൽ comet)..tiago പോലെ safe ആണ് structure.. ഇപ്പോൾ വില കുറച് 6.99 ഇൽ ആണ് base മോഡൽ(160km range ഉള്ള tiago mr മോഡൽ നേകൾ 1.1L കുറവ്)..range 180-190km.. tiago lr ന് 190-210 ഉം..സോ ഫാസ്റ്റ് ചർജിങ് ഇല്ല എന്ന പോരായ്മ കുഴപ്പമില്ല എന്നുളവർക് ഡെയിലി use car ആയി നല്ലത് comet തന്നെ..

Due to safety concern Comet is not approved in UK, Europe market. They are upgrading to compete with micro ev cars market in UK/Europe....
So definitely safety really matters...

TATA claims 315 but car goes around 280-200 and Comet EV claimed 230 km and goes 200kms.

What happens when the Comet runs out of charge? It takes 8-10 hours to fully charge. The Tiago EV has a fast charging option so it can be fully charged in one hour from an external charging station.

Mg should project this comet as a premium city car. And it is a good city car. Especially a city like tvm. It makes a lot of sense.
TATA is the best. Main advantage is D.C Fast charging facility

And 5 people can sit comfortably

I guess you don't about the after-sales service and reliability concern. They have used cheap plastic in the interior and looks completely old school. Feels very normal like other cars and in comet it gives a refreshing feel.
Having a DC fast charging is a big advantage for Tata. But as the video says , this comet will be a perfect car for city commuters. Parking is super easy, getting in and out is easy and it’s electric too

Tiago EV normal basic ev hai and vhi comet smart features loaded ev hai even interior bhi bhot refreshing hai and service bhi not like Tata.
What are those smart features? Does comet has home fast charging, cruise control, cooled glove box, Fatc, projector headlamps, IP67 battery and motor, Auto wipers, Auto headlamps, boot space of 240 ltrs, fog lamps, leather seats, peps etc etc etc. And can comet match the warranty of Tata TiagoEV? 8year,1,6000km. For both motors and battery. These features are not available in Comet.
Hello, I think you have totally gone wrong about the features comet offers. Yes, a big set is that comet doesn’t have a dc fast charger .
But comet offers projected head lamps, it has expandable boot space, it has good reverse camera and it has good warranty on both battery as well as motor.
We can talk good and bad about both the cars , but pls give wrong impression on any car.

I don’t agree half of what you said. Tiago is a complete 4 door car. But many people want to break the conventional style and opt for a stylish city car and that makes sense in many ways too

Reverse camera , ip 67 battery warranty projected head lamps etc is definitely there in Comet

It’s a big set back for comet. But I would consider this only as a short commuting or a city car . Might won’t bother that if we condisider comet only that way.

Don't think so..tiago is more powerful and better ride quality compared to comet.more over its a proper car in terms of long journey and practicality..adding DC fast charging is plus point..
