@@DrAntoYoussef If you have sunlight and some type of air filtration you could probably survive indoors for quite a while, hopefully able to develop technology to expand your environment, or you can go home
Exactly. Probes would be sent, followed by robotic terraformers if deemed suitable. Of course, there would be no reason to send a human colony anyway unless something was going to wipe out our entire solar system. They would be completely cutoff and evolve differently. We would just be creating an alien species that might be a threat at some time in the future.
They arrived at their destination and began exploring the new world. But the planet was already inhabited by humanoids strangely similar to themselves, and speaking their language. The obvious question was asked and the answer was a revelation. The inhabitants had left Earth 50 years after the first colonists, but new technology had shortened their journey to a few short years. Thus the new world had been colonized for almost a hundred years by the time the “first” expedition finally arrived……🚀🛸
But could it be possible it has happened?? Was that maybe the ones that went, and that signal was them letting us know they made it?? Stranger things have happened.....or could happen.....
The diameter of the ship would need to be much larger than proffered in this scenario. 10 metres per second squared, means a diameter of more than 100 metres.
This timeline only assumes they would age at earth rate in space, but they wouldnt. A lot of fascinating points and evolutionary theories, i just have it in my head that weightlessness would also mean aging wouldn't be the sane, either, without contending with gravity, lifestyle challenges, etc. We need so much more of this!!
What a great little docufilm, a total pleasure to watch. But it's left me with some questions. Maily, when will you make the next one so we can see what happens and who left that beacon?!
It's possible. People basically repeat everyday of their lives until death, mostly with no purpose other than obtaining basic necessities and some luxuries.
Really good. I have one quibble. The deceleration should start approximately 52 days before arrival at Elpida, ie twice the acceleration time of 26 days at the start of the mission, because the original crew would have endured 1g during that acceleration phase but the crew after 150 years are adapted to 0.5g gravity.
This was very cool and very well done. There is a huge ethical question about whether intergenerational ships should even exist. Your children have no choice but to spend their entire lives on the ship - never reaching the destination.
So much flat earth ignorance on here. Ever heard of E=mc. Mass gets converted to energy with Acceleration. How are you going to overcome the transformation process? The only way is cryostasis and that doesn't work for complex organisms.
It remained to be said what was in the restricted areas of the spacecraft and what was found in the orbiting radio beacon that sent the message to Earth. But, congratulations on the excellent video and captivating story. Will there be a second part?
one has to understand radiation effects on are DNA, and crafts have to replicate, repelling and accepting different kinds of radiation, that the human form accepts, on earth hence crafts one designed for phase generation sequencing systems that would be needed for said craft, for human form to be able to survive in a space environment
This was interesting. My first thought is we can't make anything that lasts more than 5 to 10 years, at most 20 years, how would a space craft last 150 years? How would repairs be made during the trip? As I thought about it, more and more questions popped into my head that went unanswered. Human space travel to another solar system is a long way off.
The Nina pinta and s Maria did not "discover'" America but could be frased: the legendary ships used for an expedition that lead to the official discovery of America by eastern countries... 😅😊
