Turnkeylife thanks man, I switch from jig to worm to bead depending on day. I have a few winter steelhead videos I posted a few weeks ago. I should be posting some summer steelhead videos soon. Make sure to subscribe so you get the notifications when they are out. 🤙🏼Thanks for watching!
Hey Dominic, another great video. I wear my vest all the time, carries a lot of stuff for me including a jacket if it gets hot, food and snacks and of course, lots of fishing gear. But like you said, comfort is very important so make sure you don’t take too many things if not necessary. Waders are a must most of the time if you have to wade deep in water to cast farther to those fish or go up and down the river to places less fished by public. Take care my friend and be safe out there.
Some good stuff here for sure. Nothing wrong with surrounding wildlife thinking you are a 2 legged porcupine walking down to the river cuz you have so many rods with you.
Northwest Open Season yea , I wouldn’t mind looking lime a porcupine if I was carrying a fish. There are ways to carry poles without them sticking out, that’s gonna be on another video. 👍🏻
Liked and Subscribed. I like how emphasize staying comfortable, just went surf perch fishing at Pacific Beach in my new waders! yesterday morning was great, caught like 15 fish in 2 hours, only 3 keepers though. I agree on the comfort. Do you have any tips for steelhead fishing on locations? Any help would be greatly appreciated for this novice angler!
emeraldent steelhead love riffles, they hang in there because they feel safe, and water is oxygenated. Comfort is key to me as well. Glad you liked the video. Good job on the perch fishing, I plan is surf perch fishing with spinners, hopefully do a video on that.
Great info Dom.....I always have an interest in how people go about preparation to target different species both in the Fresh and the Salt.....You can't get this stuff from a book....It's all about experience!!
Awesome intro brother love the editing you done👍 Lot’s of great advice you gave, I know when I move I’m gonna need to start getting some gear for cold water fishing. That’s the problem with me I Cary way to much gear between tackle, camera equipment and just the essential stuff need for the day I get exhausted lugging it around😂 Great job on the video brother not sure why I didn’t get a notification about it. I figured I had seen anything from you lately so I better check lol.. glad I did! Tight lines brother🎣
@@northforklures275 thanks for the response, ill have to figure out who owns it see if i can get on there good side lol im new to fishing out here really want to catch a couple steelies. Thanks again have a good one!
Good point on the vest. I always wore them for work but never thought about it for fishing. For number 3 can't you just use snap swivels? Or, are the fish too shy of those? What about the elephant in the room? You mention stay comfortable but don't talk about that sweet hammock.😂 Good tips. 👍
Wansford Henry this is first in my series, which is gear! If you want tactics and other information check out my second and third videos. Much more detail!

Wes Lovelace trial and error my brother! A lot or error for me.😂 but that’s how I learn
Great video! That’s one thing I’ve never had is a vest and always used a back pack
my opinion is vest is essintial if you like to change gear often

are you planning on moving
Yes sir hopefully soon😉
where were you fishing?
This video was on the cowlitz
I live across from that bank in lexington. Across from the park is the beach your on private property or free game to fish? Thanks in advance!
Koehl Tillotson unfortunately it’s private property. But the bank on Lexington side is better fishing

Koehl Tillotson it’s a buddy of mine. Next time I’m out I’ll talk with him
Is this below the dam?
Yes it is 🤙🏼
Great information but I was hoping that he show us the set up and was fishing with those set ups.
Ok that is going to be my next video. Number 3 in this series. Also check out my second video in the series.
Starting with tip #1 Don't set your fucking spinning reel in the sand for the thumbnail, lol.
Good point on the vest. I always wore them for work but never thought about it for fishing. For number 3 can't you just use snap swivels? Or, are the fish too shy of those? What about the elephant in the room? You mention stay comfortable but don't talk about that sweet hammock.😂 Good tips. 👍
Peeling Line 😂 thanks man. I do use snap swivels when swapping out spinners. But that’s about it.
The number one thing to never do is put a spinng reel on a bait casting rod. Or vice versa.
I do it sometimes and have no issues? I rather not do it because the rod is made for a certain type of reel, but when I do it works fine.
EXCELENTE VIDEO Y EXCELENTE CANAL! SALUDOS DESDE ARGENTINA!🖐SUSCRIPTO Y ACOMPAÑANDO! 💪1000 LIKES!! 👍👍👍👍👍👍@ 💪💪💪💪🖐
The best lesson is pack light. Two rods max (I only bring one most of the time) it keeps you mobile and your stuff under control.
Totally agree. I’m getting a smaller backpack. It’ll force me not to pack as much.
more running off at the jibs than anything else.
