    The demo gear in this video is all run through Practical Patch cables, including instrument cables and patch cables. These are using some top-quality components, including Neutrik jacks and Van Damme cable and are hand-assembled and tested in the UK. After having off-the-shelf cables for years and suffering failures again and again, I bought some Practical Patch cables and have been happier than ever with them. They also don’t cost you the Earth, which some other hand made cable companies seem to do. If you want to find out more, head over to www.practicalpatch.co.uk to see what they have to offer.

    I feel like the Paul Gilbert Mojo Mojo fixed all the issues that I had with the original Mojo Mojo. The original one wasn't bad, but it feel a little lack luster and felt like it did a lot of things good but not great. The Paul Gilbert edition really seemed to fix that issue and focused more on the higher gain stuff than the huge wide sweep that the original tried to do.

    • @BudgetPedalChap
      @BudgetPedalChap  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      I loved the original, still do. It sure is a different beast than the original though. I can justify owning both 🤣🤣🤣

      They are similar yet different. The switch should change between the old one and PG version set to 11. But its a marketing decision (wise one) and now i have to buy the brown one too 😊

    Mojomojo is darker tones which I like. Paul Gilbert is brighter yes but depends what you're going for. I like high gain but with MojoMojo darker tones, low gain is where it's at.

    Thanx for the review. Which is better? Not a lot of difference but although more gain can be exciting it can smear the harmonics and you lose a lot of tone. The pedal was not designed from the start to be high gain but a mid gain pedal. Like you pointed out the original is smoother at lower gains. A high gain pedal is best when that is all it was designed for. I find as a rule 99% of the time all OD's have one excellent sweet spot and maybe something a bit less gainy that is passable. I just accept it and buy more OD's, lol. I think the original is best but I would not hesitate to stack it if I needed more gain.

    It's been awhile since this went up, but here's my thoughts. I thought the Paul Gilbert model sounded better at lower gains. At higher gains, they both sound pretty much the same to me. So my pick is the PG model, but it's close. They're both great pedals.

  • @mrr3000gt
    @mrr3000gt 9 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    Good video and yes the original mojo mojo is a mainstay on my pedal board. It handles staging by a TS-9 or Klon clone well to produce the right rock going that can work well with a guitar volume. Works well with strats, Les Pauls, and telecasters. The original works GREAT if you are a volume knob user for tone and provides you usable sounds all the way down to shutoff. To me, the 11 switch on the PG just steps up the signal and if you have an always-on pedal - like I do with my Archer Ikon - then the added level is meaningless. They sound like they perform the same otherwise and the 11 switch is a special to PG feature. I play classic rock, hard rock, alternative, and even pop country and the original version covers that well. Sometimes the mojo mojo is the only pedal to give the distortion sound at a venue and is very versatile. Not sure the PG version gives you more than more loud and gain.

  • @maotemplar
    @maotemplar 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    My opinion is that both are tweak and made to be stacked or to push a gain channel of an amp. They should sound good plugged before a fuzz or a OD-3.
