I love this piece! I love Nielsen's music. I started to get into his symphonies when I heard a performance of the fourth symphony on the radio back in the 1970's. Back then the only symphony cycle available in the Schwann catalog was the Ole Schmidt cycle on Unicorn - he was such an obscure name in America. Back then you really had to seek his music out. Nowadays? Just put whatever you're looking for in the search field and POOF, there it is. It still sort of amazes me how different things are now when I look back on how things used to be.

Yes, great work! As a Dane I can tell you, that Carl Nielsen has been a musical inspiration on all fronts in Denmark for over 100 years. He made music for many occasions (Like Mozart). He made songs for children and for our “Højskole”-songbook too. The tune “Tågen Letter” and songs like “Jeg Ved En Lærkerede”, “Solen Er Så Rød Mor” and “Som En Rejselysten Flåde” are lovely compositions for their purpose.

Benissimo. E perché no un Burgmuller? Per citarne uno solo.
