Sempre es descobreix algo nou. Escoltant a l,orquestra de la Universitat de València, vaig descobrir aquesta preciositat simpfonica. Molt interessant!!!
I recently finished a string quartet movement: Claribel in the Souq. [souq el berka in Tunis] now I see it’s been done. My piece is similar in concept; though structurally different.
How does this never get recomended when someone asks for metal in classical music? The last movement is metal af, there are some seriously sick riffs inthere
The Market Place in Ispahan is possibly a wrong translation. "Torvet i Ispahan" does not necessarily mean "Market Place" or "Marktplatz". The danish word torv means simply an open square, market or not. Perhaps Nielsen meant the world famous square Naqsh-e Jahan in Isfahan, which is not a market place: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Naqsh-e_Jahan_Square
HOLY COW I LOVE THIS SO MUCH
Magnificent! How come I've never heard of this? Have I been livin' under the rock or something?
That's what I call the hidden gem!
0:00 - 1st movement
2:45 - 2nd movement
5:38 - 3rd movement
8:46 - 4th movement

This piece is the diamond in the rough.

Wow, another great Orientalism piece. Thank you Bartje for uploading this.
As great as the Suite is, Nielsen's complete "Aladdin" is over 80 minutes, and well worth a listen!
Played this piece two years ago and havent listened to it since, its nice to listen to it again! Thanks for uploading! :D

Gostou hein
Superb music I never heard before! Recalls Franz Schmidt at the start. I think. It's a Major Work....BRAVO!
Which Franz Schmidt piece are you thinking?
@@NathanHPayne -- Doesn't it recall for you Schmidt's 'Variations on a Hussar Song' or at least 'Das Buch mit sieben Siegeln'? Cheers from Acapulco!
An original in every way.
Nielsen is great!
Thank you
Good getting acquainted to this one.
Incredible
Wonderful!
Wow. Never heard of this one before. I really need to listen to more.

Wow, look at "The Marketplace in Ispahan". That's something Charles Ives would have done, with four orchestras and four tempi.
Yes, like Ive's 4th symphony. It's amazing!!.
Would be nice to read the score in traditional presentation. Really fun piece.

It looks very exhausting for 1st and 2nd horns toll keep that playing for several minutes 🙈
Thank you for uploading this. I'd never heard of the piece and I wonder why not?
No. 7 would be nice to hear with Choir - or the strings could simultaneously play and sing - like in Ketelbey's "In a Persian Market"
The CD "The Earquake Experience" has a version with choir th-cam.com/video/2-diWc2_PYg/w-d-xo.html

"The last movement is metal af" those gallops! I was thinking the same thing.

I prefer the finale with the chorus present.
Have you done a score video of Scheherazade (by Rimsky-Korsakov) yet?
No. It is already on TH-cam with score.
mydogskips2 I played 1violin in Scheherazade last year. Yeah you can find it just searching it :)

That one section in the middle was a tad too long. But otherwise very entertaining!
