You need a good mic and a place to record without echo. And you need to learn to edit the audio, so it’s doable but requires an extra skill set.

Do we need to hire narrators via ACX? Can we use our own narration?
You don't have to use ACX. You can narrate it yourself or hire from another platform.

Thank you for all the info, Trevor. Most wonderful and relevant for me. I’d like to use my own voice that I’ve put on Elevenslab, an AI generative text to audio software - for my in-class teaching I use with my power point presentations - I’m a nurse educator. Is this possible in place of using the narrators/software you’ve advised?
As of right now they wouldn’t accept an outside AI voice but that may change as Amazon has its own beta program for this.

Yes!
How common is it or difficult is it in your experience to make $50 a day from an audible title being published? If you make a royalty of maybe $3 or $4 per sale you need to sell maybe 15 a day. What does it depend on? Thanks.
Very easy. Just create a 3 hour+ audiobook on something popular and have it rank for those keywords.
Great video, if the audio book includes a PDF with a sh*t load of written content to go along with the audio, do they take that into consideration when considering the pricing? Never knew they price the book themselves lol.
It used to just be based on length but now it seems to be based on the genre as well. I don't think a PDF will add anything to the price but if it helps the listener it's a great idea.

@@tonnettel Absolutely. You would just need to buy a bit of gear and learn the craft im sure there is lots of TH-cam videos on it.
I have a question… what if you want to have the audiobook you published in more than one language, is that an option?
Absolutely and it's a great way to get more sales. You just need to have a translated kindle copy on Amazon KDP and then you can claim it on ACX and get it narrated.
why only available in usa, united kingdom and canada
It's also available in Ireland. If you're outside those 4 countries, you can still publish using a company called Findaway Voices that works great.
How do you upload picture from fiever to your book from I phone
If you're having trouble just login to a computer and do it from there. You can put your cover file in Gdrive.
Is this worldwide ??
Technically yes. It's open to Canada, US, UK and Ireland but you can publish through Findaway Voices even if you live outside these countries and still get on Audible.

Through Amazon you can but it’s still in beta.
Can I do These on my phone ?
Yes, you could do this process on your phone, but even a low-quality computer would make it much easier. I started with a $50 laptop, and it worked fine.

Yes. Likely you would use Payoneer.
If I wanted to, could I just AI Voice Generate someone in as the narrator? why would I need to go through someone else and pay them?
Amazon is coming out with this feature now through their platform but prior to this the AI voice wouldn’t have been accepted.
When I see ai voice on audible I report them and often times the person loses their account. So be careful.
Can’t we just use our own voices as a Voice Over to narrate?
@@DawnsDecoders Absolutely, you can narrate it yourself. You will need a mic, somewhere quiet and learn to edit.
@MisterPotter - How narrow minded are you? One can write their own original stuff and narrate it with AI. What's important is originality not the type of voice used.
$50/ hour for recorded audio = $10/hour for actual time spent recording. Not worth it for a narrator.
😮😮😮 to each his own imagine living in Africa or on the South East Asia or India with the income is low and someone offer you the opportunity to make $100 to $150 or $125 for 3 hours imagine in a country where a worker gets paid 50 cents to $1 an hour that will be a humble blessing because a person can do 10 projects at 3 hours each and earn $1,000 to $1,125 and even 1500 or more where is the postage just making $20 to $40 a week it all depends on the person the profession in geographic location but 2/3 world countries they can feed their families turn living room more comfortable life 😢😢❤❤❤
90 percent of everything I have gotten narrated was $50 PFH. The truth is AI voices are going to take over this industry and it will be free soon.

@@SDSunriser Per finished hour. So rather then paying someone hourly you're paying them for every hour of audio that is complete and ready to be uploaded for sale.
Why don’t you just narrate it yourself?
You could but you would need the gear and experience to edit it. The quality needs to be high for Audible to accept it.
I have a speech impediment and essential tremor. It would be comedic. 🙂
