🏴🇬🇧🇮🇪 I could look at opal turning slowly in different lights for hours, each turn, each millimetre I see a different pattern, or a different colour, a different depth and a different characteristic. I doubt that I will ever be able to afford a stunning piece like this, so I will just sit back and watch your videos and experience opal through your eyes. You're the boss Justin, a true Aussie battler.
Fair play, for any expert in his field to hold their hand up and admit to being wrong about something in their remit. That is true class, Justin. The opal's pretty cool too!
So happy you gave the smaller stone for your son to cut. He looks like he’s eager to get started on it. Lovely stone. Lovely pattern. Fantastic color. My grandmothers name was Opal so the stone has meaning to me. 🥰
Oh wow, Justin. Flawless art from mother nature. I'd have to consider keeping those in my personal collection if I were in your shoes. Stunning colors and pattern.
A father and son pair! Lovely, Justin. Saxon, show the ol boy up by cutting a pearler! Go Saxon! Greetings and love from the Little Desert region of Victoria, Australia. ❤
Wow just wow!!! That color is so beautiful! Pure fire excellence work Justin !!! Hope to see what Saxon does with his piece!! The best wishes for the whole BOD crew!!!!!!!
Outstanding pattern(ribbons) that has been rare in all the videos I have watched. Just stunning! Black Opal is my favorite. I even have a chicken named “Black Opal”. She is a big ol’ beautiful girl, a black Australorp, and when the sun hits her feather’s they are green & blue opalescent. Her being Australian and all the name was quite fitting. 😀I just call her “Opal”.
I love opal since I was a kid and my neighbor a multi level miner from gold , minerals and opal from around Australia. Let us kids play in the tumbler water bath of colour. We stuck them in test tube's and he created a tourist market product. I went to uni to cut opal. My favorite are Coober Pedy Belenites and shells , however I love the dark blues n purples of lightning. Each field has its pros n cons but that is education. I appreciate your statements re Coober and Andamooka and like yani from Coober says look at the thickness of Coober. I have bought a block in Coober for my bucket list base . Again appreciate this video
That’s one jaw dropping pattern Fantastic cutting mate That’s an extremely awesome gesture to save the other piece for Saxon. I’m sure he’ll be stoked about that
Incredible stone! All it needs is a little chaff. It REALLY made me happy when you gave that stone to Saxon as I was going to comment about having him cut it. Can't wait to see THAT video!
I like the crystal opal, but I really love the boulder opal. There are so many patterns mixed in with the iron stone then you get the color shot through all that, it truly is beautiful. I love all the opal truly. It's just a beautiful stone. The volcanic opals are ok, but yeah, Aussie opal is where it's at.
Fantastic video Justin I have been blessed being able to cut small pieces of Boulder, Coober Pedy, Andamooka, Mintabie and Lightning Ridge, I love them all they are all unique, but my favourite is a small lightening ridge opal, that is semi crystal semi black has some inclusions but the colour is amazing
High Justin , that is absolutely awesome. That is such a beautiful gem. Just goes to show you never know what you will end up with until you have worked your magic. Looking at that one, the colours, the patterning, only real nature can create such beauty. Be interesting to see 👀 what Saxon doe's with his little gift from you ?? Old saying, I'm sure he'll be a chip of the old block. Best wishes to all the family mate. Cheers Les.
I love lightning ridge black opal for jewelry but my favorite is Boulder opal as a larger display piece the beautiful red ironstone with brilliant bright colors in the opal contrasting with each other nature is truly magnificent
Fossils are my favourite opals, then jelly opal, clear opal, Lightning Ridge dark to black, dark Coober Pedy, tribal boulder, eye kernel boulder, love them all.
That is I think my favorite although I like the contrasting black almost equally. It would be fun to see a yin Yang piece of jewelry out of black and white opal together.
Hey Justin great video just wondering if you use a continuous rim or a notched rim blade for slicing. I have both the notched is a tiny bit thinner, which one do you think is best,
Always a bit sad when these are edited down to sub-10 minutes. Still, I'm very glad that you included the polishing process. Just an absolutely beautiful gem.
Your Dad is so proud of you, Mate! And ya know what? I think that he's happy with you even when you do make a mistake, because they are honest mistakes. $12,000, Mate!

Absolutely stunning, Justin, what a beauty!❤ My favourite is crystal opal. As a ‘water perso’, I love the depth and translucent shimmer best of all.

That is absolutely holographic!! WOW! Congratulations, that's a magnificent cut!
Thank you! Cheers!
Fair play, for any expert in his field to hold their hand up and admit to being wrong about something in their remit. That is true class, Justin. The opal's pretty cool too!

The mysterious, high tension music in the first half is both wonderful and hilarious. Thanks for the upload, as always.
Glad you enjoyed it! hahah
Oh wow, Justin. Flawless art from mother nature. I'd have to consider keeping those in my personal collection if I were in your shoes. Stunning colors and pattern.
That was beautiful! Maybe we’ll see you cut more of that in the future? ❤

It REALLY made me happy when you gave that stone to Saxon as I was going to comment about having him cut it.
Can't wait to see THAT video!
Thanks again! Don Sax will be a reel or short
The ribbon pattern reminds me of a microscope image of butterfly scales. Nature can be fickle, but opal is one of its most exceptional creations.

WOWZARS THAT FLASH IS GALACTICAL !!!!

I see a kaleidoscope of colours, these were stunning. ❤
I love all Australian opal, but white is my happy stone!!!
Gorgeous gem !
It's not easy to choose, but the most beautiful remains black. For me they are all wonderful. 👋👋👋💚💚💚
Black opal is my favorite.
That is I think my favorite although I like the contrasting black almost equally. It would be fun to see a yin Yang piece of jewelry out of black and white opal together.
Wow! What a stunner 🌈
That needs to go to the collection 😮
That is STUNNING 🤩
Stunning gem.
Wow, just wow!
Definitely black opal 🎉
Nothing wrong with that. Very nice gem.
Stunning stone, Justin. Have you ever mined opal? My favorite is crystal opal.
Stunning ❤
I personally am a sucker for fire opal but you definitely cant beat some nice bright black lightning ridge
Beautiful ❤
Mint Work.👍
Many many thanks
What a great job, Justin. Very unique and beautiful. But it’s still not a black opal.
Outstanding
Hey Justin great video just wondering if you use a continuous rim or a notched rim blade for slicing. I have both the notched is a tiny bit thinner, which one do you think is best,
Such a beautiful stone . It should be named "Snow White" .
As Steve Irwin passed the torch to his son, so you pass your torch to yours. You truly are an amazing person.
Justin please show us how Saxon does on the second piece we would all love to see him cut it .
Andamooka and Lambina can both create some really bright clean crystal opal too.
Got to admit it,my mouth dropped open seeing the finished piece beautifulgem.😮😮😮😮
CP is my number 1 choice when comes 2 Australian opal......
cooper pety always been good one👍
Whats mic you use
Always a bit sad when these are edited down to sub-10 minutes. Still, I'm very glad that you included the polishing process. Just an absolutely beautiful gem.
my favorite kind of opal is whatever you're cutting today
Do you sell exclusively online or do u also wholesale to jewelry manufactures?
1:01 Stunning moment
Your Dad is so proud of you, Mate!
And ya know what? I think that he's happy with you even when you do make a mistake, because they are honest mistakes.
$12,000, Mate!
Nice very cool
No muckin' round on this one!
Yeah Baby ! Phhhwwaaa !
i think i saw the show when this piece came out the ground
For us all.I hope you cut the brown opil jem one day
I would take that over the same size black opal any day.
Can you imagine that color and pattern on a black opal ??
Big and beautiful could get lost in the levels of color
Shazam that great color!
Why cut it first? To find out the depth of the color band?
Definitely let us know how saxon's turns out?
check out instagram!
Where do opals get their color from?
Let me tell Y'ALL, that there is a keeper, ARKANSAS STYLE LOVES Y'ALL. Good job justin
Wow.
Opals remind me anymore of Aurora borealis in the sky, trapped in rock
How does it feel to hold a rainbow?
So many Australians have rough bits of Coober Pedy opal as holiday souvenirs. I wonder how many of them have hidden gems?
That is one of the most amazing .. needs high polish.
Lots of 🥕🥕 on this one
I would describe that pattern as “auroral”
