When I got to this level and heard the music, I was like oh this is gonna be easy like the first level of Castlevania 1, right? Wrong. The Grim Reaper is waiting for you at the end of this level!
@@MexicanSheepMan - This was the first Castlevania game I got. I didn't know about him being in the first game or just dumping holy water on him, and this guy was trouble for me for a couple days. Once you figure it out it's easy... The doppelganger was by far the hardest for me in this game. As a kid, the only way I could get past him was to use Syfa, specifically with the tracking lightning balls special weapon, and get the doppelganger to stay underneath me while on one of the side platforms. I still consider it one of the best games I ever played
Demi-Fiend of Time In terms of chronology, yes. Castlevania III: Drácula's Curse occurs in 1476,meanwhile Castlevania I in 1691. But gameplay-comercial talking, Castlevania I came before III and this scenario in aftermath before the third game. It has it's own sense, but at the same time is ironic.
Minor note to the discussion below: Sonia Belmont (Castlevania Legends) was originally the first Belmont, but she was expunged from canon by CV's current producer. There was some implication that she had a child with Alucard, bringing a supernatural element to the Belmont family's lineage.
I find it odd they call it Deja vu Yes its the third castlevania game.... but this i s A PREQUEL so what is Trevor Going Deja vu over? I will always call it Vampire Killer as the CVIII title is a misnomer
@@AxlTheScourge probably this isn't a deja vu to the character but to the player, as this was the first song to play in more than one game, coming from castlevania I to III
I love the VRC6 version, and getting the Japanese version of the game was so worth it... But when I compare the US version, I am still impressed with what they were able to do with Castlevania 3 for NES.
@skedardestroyer Ah yeah, it sounds different than the CV1 version because it's arranged a bit differently. There are more echo effects crammed in here, plus it makes use of 1-bit samples for snare and kick drum (CV1 just uses noise for that). :)
+Kimmo Laine Not really, the Castlevania 3 version has fades between verses, it's smoother, and uses layered melodies to make it sound fuller. This, to me, is the best version of this track.
@explod2A03 After uploading a video, someone told me about the Zxx command. It works quite well. When I get around to it, I'll recreate the theme and upload the new version because the speed is too slow for some of the Rectangle channels.
@explod2A03 Breaking it down with VirtuaNSF, the kick drum is the only one using 1-bit samples. What I can't do is make the sample sound like the original in FamiTracker. >.
This game has a special sound channel called the PCM which holds audio samples. but it takes up lots of memory space to produce such sounds than the simple square and triangle wave sounds.
They somehow made a whole song with just a few tracks that could only play basically 480p instruments. Now people can layer many many crispy high resolution tracks and manage to make horrible music.
@sslfsociety Still the Belmont vs Dracula motives were explained in Lamnent of Innocence, and Leon Belmont is the first of the Belmonts to ever fight "Dracula". In fact, taking the LoS ending as canon... Belmonts would be in fact descendants... of you know who.
Matias is Dracula, Leon doesnt fight with him he fight with the first vampire u know the red hair man Trevor is the first belmont who destroyed Dracula and LoS is Non-Cannon
Lords of Shadow is its own timeline of events. Lament of Innocence is the true origin story. Unless you count Legends. Actually, Legends could fit, but not as the origin story.
Make no bones about it (pun?), I knew it wasn't going to be easy. I've never played much of the first game, but it's a gimme that they would make it a little more challenging.
I'm pretty sure that to play that level you have to go on the path to get Alucard, and that path has harder levels including the levels after you have him and since the underground level is the last level that route it is possibly the hardest level in the game
Yeah I sort of like that the NES versions of the songs are way less busy than the VRC6 versions, or that might be because I'm used to the NES versions of the songs
when people say this is their favourite version yes it's better than the NES version but! have they heard the Famicom version? th-cam.com/video/TecRb1nYrSE/w-d-xo.html

Just spam holy water at em, like in the original Castlevania
He is easier than the original version though
@@dragonator1012 He's not as fun, either. For me, anyway.
@@sharavy6851 well i do like castlevania 3 grim reaper. But castlevania 1 grim reaper is just abysmal

Probably my favorite version. The little variation in the part right before it loops = bliss.

DEJA VU
I'VE JUST BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE
NanTheDark but this is before castlevania 1
DEJA VU
WE WILL HAVE BEEN IN THIS PLACE BEFORE
NanTheDark yeah, I expected this to be here somewhere.
Higher on the street

Then LoS made Alucard son of Gabriel lol
Where have I heard this before...
In Castlevania 1
Ragnar Ahlman I think he was being sarcastic
I find it odd they call it Deja vu
Yes its the third castlevania game.... but this i s A PREQUEL so what is Trevor Going Deja vu over?

I am aware but answered anyway.

I was looking forward to hearing this song from the minute I played Castlevania III :3
Did you know when you started playing it that this tune would appear in one of the last stages?
This is the first version of the song I ever heard. And it remains in my mind as the best rendition, even greater than later games.
I love the VRC6 version, and getting the Japanese version of the game was so worth it... But when I compare the US version, I am still impressed with what they were able to do with Castlevania 3 for NES.
just a level make for full joy before the pain, the battle with death its just awesome how he turns into a giant skull its kinda scary the first time
the first time I got to draculas castle in this game and this game came on, insane goosebumps. so epic
The best Castlevania theme ever 🙌
I love this song 😍
@skedardestroyer

WHY IS THIS SO DAMN CATCHY?
Thanks for these uploads.
I am brazilian musician and i go making one cd for the Castelvania sondtracks and.
Good job man!!
Ahhh, the memories come flooding back just hearing this song
Fight on Belont! You are almost there!!!
It's the 17th track... but also the song for the first stage... :S
Great job, dude! I love 8-bit music. :D
Ironically, Castlevania 3 is the prequel
Castlevania! That’s the name of Dracula’s Castle!
@HyperFlameGuy
Hmm, I'll have to play around with it. Might it require re-pitching as well as a Z command?
This might be an unpopular opinion but I think the NES version is WAY better and less busy and more clean
Yeah, but the original in Castlevania I is better than this.
+Kimmo Laine Not really, the Castlevania 3 version has fades between verses, it's smoother, and uses layered melodies to make it sound fuller. This, to me, is the best version of this track.
I like the soundscape of the original better. Doesn't matter though. Both are great. :)
I'll admit. There are themes in this game that work well with the more minimalistic feel of the NES version.
Yea this one and nightmare work WAY better on the NES
this song is incapable of being tampered with, seriously so many great covers and remixes.
vampire killer
Good for twilight
I think, I's a Perfect song and the best song of castlevania series ^^
In my opinion, it can be overused sometimes and often shows its age because of that.
@explod2A03 After uploading a video, someone told me about the Zxx command. It works quite well. When I get around to it, I'll recreate the theme and upload the new version because the speed is too slow for some of the Rectangle channels.
( ━ω━)っ☕🥞拡張音源が無くても『初代Disk版』の雰囲気を損なわない曲構成には脱帽しますな……
@SuperSketch008 its considered non canon now i believe
The percussion makes this the best version
@nicholascooney I'm speaking chronologically. I never said anything about game release dates :P
I actually prefer this to the VRC6 version.
Chillin! At the playground! (Ya know?)
@explod2A03 Breaking it down with VirtuaNSF, the kick drum is the only one using 1-bit samples. What I can't do is make the sample sound like the original in FamiTracker. >.
music classic of castlevania
both awesome
And from here the tradition Beginning
Haven't I been here before...?
I honestly didn't even know the NES could play musics like this
Check out the ost for silver surfer, you won't believe it's actually from nes hardware
Yeah music is awesome. But can we talk about how hard were stages when this music played?
@sslfsociety Still the Belmont vs Dracula motives were explained in Lamnent of Innocence, and Leon Belmont is the first of the Belmonts to ever fight "Dracula". In fact, taking the LoS ending as canon... Belmonts would be in fact descendants... of you know who.
Love the rocking drums yeah killer tune
They need to include this in the new Nocturne series.
I smiled to myself when I heard this in game.
Reminds me of what Pokémon Gold & Silver did for the Kanto themes
Just in time for Halloween 🎃
Not bad! I played the original CV back when it first came out. Now... *searches fir the Famicom version to compare*
How could it be Deja Vu if this game takes place before the original Castlevania?
More likely a deja vu for us players, not the characters themselves
Matias is Dracula, Leon doesnt fight with him he fight with the first vampire u know the red hair man Trevor is the first belmont who destroyed Dracula and LoS is Non-Cannon
deja vu is so right.
my friend has this as a ringtone... every time i hear it i dance, and by dance i mean Belmont Walk
Gets to stompin!
@BUNNYANDDIABLO Actually, Leon is the earliest known Belmont.
As usual with 8-bit music, it sounds more authentic in 240p.
Grandpa Trevor :D
How does it manage to sound so similar and at the same time so different to the CV1 version? I found it better than the original tho
They should also have used this song in Castlevania Netflix. Hopefully in the 3rd Season...
Lords of Shadow is its own timeline of events. Lament of Innocence is the true origin story. Unless you count Legends. Actually, Legends could fit, but not as the origin story.
Trevor: Oh my God.....this version is better than sex......
Make no bones about it (pun?), I knew it wasn't going to be easy. I've never played much of the first game, but it's a gimme that they would make it a little more challenging.
Am I the only one who thinks this stage(excluding the death fight) is easier than that stupid underground castle level right before it?
I'm pretty sure that to play that level you have to go on the path to get Alucard, and that path has harder levels including the levels after you have him and since the underground level is the last level that route it is possibly the hardest level in the game
Is that the one with the falling block you have to dodge and use to climb up? Because i cant get past that part of one stage!
Every level is easier than that one.
The scenario where you fight the doppelgänger is hellish
Harmony of Despair will always be my favorite version
gave it a listen, I found it a little overkill
Bloody Tears is my all time favorite
KAAAHH !!!
the title is correct
@explod2A03 sounds kinda like how it would sound if it was on Contra
best song in the game imo!
@SuperSketch008 You didn't read my earlier comment, did ye :p
My advice for Death in this level: have Triple Shot Holy Water and spam that on him in his first form. Makes that half of the fight easier.
I can't decide if this one or the one from Judgement is the best
I like this one.
listening to it again was like
Yeeeeeees!/Nooooooo!
CASTLEVANIA
That’s the name of Dracula’s castle
Damn. Strait knowledge, son.
dead cells is the only reason I recognise this
This is the Anime of Castlevania
sprites are cooler than anime :P
Bunsen an Mature Anime,they swear
Better than Castlevania 1
Sounds better than the original, but same 8-bitness?
Wow NES castlevania III’s soundtrack sounds better than the famicom one that everyone acts like is so much better.
Yeah I sort of like that the NES versions of the songs are way less busy than the VRC6 versions, or that might be because I'm used to the NES versions of the songs
@TochMaarNetOpTijd true that.
Pretty good version. But I think I like the Famicom version of this song just a little bit more.
That boss at the end this level is scary as fuck. I thought it was an zombified old woman!
Man, I suddenly want to put on a kilt, eat pot roast and whip fishmen!
Dracula's curse will be lifted completely!
Send me your worst! They will never defeat me cause
I'M the man!

Da F**K!

This has been a very enjoyable endeavor, wouldn't you agree?
Deja Vu? That means this song existed before, but this game is happening chronogically before the 1st game.
ILLUMINATI
BASS!!!
Ahh yes! 8bit Music for an intruding kleptomaniac
Megaman V (gameboy) sounds like this
DRACULINO PEREIRA
join the club bro. :)
It's just the original just with a echo.
The famicom one sounds way better because of the VRC6
Dracula viewed this video and disliked it 0 times.
Been there, done that? Probably.
when people say this is their favourite version
yes it's better than the NES version but! have they heard the Famicom version?
