Don't you dare ever change, Miss Holly!!!!! If you read thru the comments of all your videos, you'll see that you're not only making soap, you're also doing public service!!! The amount of people, me included, that look forward to your videos because they cheer us up when we're feeling blue.......You're a tonic!!! Kids are so tough. I think especially oldest. I can say that because I'm the oldest lol and I know what I was like. My oldest has given me grief too. And here's me thinking I was doing right by being the complete opposite of my parents!!! Sometimes it seems like you can't win!!! I also get into really low moods. I've been a depressive all my life, but I think I'm definitely in menopause, and its making the mood thing SO much worse. Like you, I try to be cheerful and positive about stuff, but MAN its hard sometimes!!!! You take care, and thank you for being you!!! xxx
Awe thank you Charlotte! That's so very encouraging to me! My family in particular has the "get angry and leave forever' gene. My grandma did it to her parents. My dad did it to his mom. I'm in the same situation with my parents. Now my kid has done it to me. The only difference is that I genuinely want to reconcile with my parents and most definitely my son, but they don't want that. I had to break away to protect myself and my family. Unfortunately, there is a strong narcissistic gene that goes with that on their part and no one else can see or admit to fault in any way. I'm willing but they are not. I was doing the opposite of my parents as well so I don't know...I think it's written in the stones and can't be broken.
@@moriversoap I only just saw your reply!!! Oh my goodness, SNAP to the narcissist gene!!! My grandmother and her brother.........And it definitely runs in families because I have some cousins that I don't have anything to do with because of their obvious narcissism. I used to constantly worry that I had it!!! But I'm 50 years old now, and I've had plenty of interactions with Psychologists and Psychiatrists over the years for my depression, and none of them have diagnosed me with it so I think I'm safe!! Its a real tough one to be dealing with in families, and you have my deep sympathy cos I know what its like!! I've been told multiple times over the years "well, there's nothing you can do about it, so just get on with your life" but unfortunately I'm not really built that way, and I suspect you're not either. The trouble is that it HURTS so bad, and cuts so deep. I'm sorry, Holly 😥I wish there was something I could say to help 😥
Quirky is not a bad thing, just makes us more unique, I like to think anyway. You make me laugh & that's wonderful. I have really enjoyed this video. Thank you for sharing 🙂

ALL your soaps are gorgeous! Being quirky is being unique. I’ve been called quirky all my life; used to think I was being insulted. Now I understand that I just stood out as being different than the crowd! I’ll accept that as a compliment 😁

Ok Holly sorry but you were so hard on yourself that is not fair. You made me laugh a lot and that is good , but honestly what is wrong with the beach soap? Absolutely NOTHING! It’s gorgeous and a great bar of soap. Imo all the “issues” you found added just more character to the soap. The beach is never perfect , the ocean has diferente textures and colors. For real, the soap is wonderful and you should be happy and love it as much as you love figgy cream! Thank you for sharing
Thank you so much Clivia! I stressed about that batch and then worked so hard for it. It may be okay but it should have been darn near perfect. I just didn't manage to get everything to align for me. It's not the end of the world obviously but it was mighty disappointing to me. I know I can make that batch better. I know it's still a good batch though and definitely worth selling it still.

Hey Holly, I have the fudgy fingers too and use a pairing knife to break the tape seal/bond on the wood molds. It's quick and easy on the fingers! Love this chattty video!
That's probably a good idea. It doesn't bother me a whole lot in person but it does seem problematic when on video. Haha!

So fun to watch the beautiful soaps emerge!! And oh yes, I'm betting you're planning on a little sapphire mining. I actually took 3 matched blue sapphires from Montana that we mined, had them faceted into beautiful gems, and had them mounted into a very special mother's ring that I treasure and wear all day, every day. Also, there is a free gold panning area west of where you are 😊
Ooooh that sounds so cool! She's wanting to go wade in the rivers and such to see what she can see. She loves the rocks at Glacier of course but she knows she has to leave them there.

I have never had an issue with oil soluble TD, Holly. I highly recommend. I get mine from Wholesale Supply. Beautiful, beautiful soaps.
Thanks! I have used it in the past and have had significant issues with it, worse than the water soluble. But I have been using some white mica from Nurture recently and though I don't get a super bright white, it is easier to work with again. Perhaps when I used the oil version back in the day, it wasn't ground as finely.

The Sunny Beaches is still a beautiful soap even though your not a hundred percent happy with it, your too hard on yourself. I love the Figgy Cream because purple is my absolute favourite colour. The Jadore type is so pretty

Holly, I love your videos and how honest you are! I hear you loud and clear about disappointment in the art of soap. And you are so right about no matter how long you've been a maker, something happens. I too, have problems with TD. I too, can make the most beautiful soap then I screw up the cut, etc. I too, don't like many of the designs I have made. However, that being said, others see it as a work of art!
Thank you! I am glad you understand what I was experiencing. I do think it's pretty in its own right, but definitely not what my end goal was. I've also accomplished this said end goal before and it's what I always hope to achieve.

About the black mica, oxide, charcole! What did you use in the «fire» soap many years ago? Didn’t you make a black soap with orange/yellow fire in it?

Thank you! Yep, I've used all of those. But when we left Missouri, I gave away all of my colorants. I just haven't thought to order any black colorants since I reopened.

I'll will be restocking it but there won't be too many due to a shortage.
Are salt bars ok with sensitive skin?
I'd probably avoid them in the case of sensitive skin.
Hi Holly, me again lol, I just made my 1st rainbow soap, but I didn't measure the lye solution right for all 6 colors, I did them individually like you did and I had a little lye solution left, do you think it will come out ok? I'll do a ph test on it after and see, I hope it comes out 🤞🤞
I'm not sure how you had lye solution left if you measured them individually. If you didn't use the full amount of lye needed for the batch then it will be superfatted. It might be soft.

I love the Figgy Cream, is that yours you made or can i buy it? I also been wanting to get the Jadore' type, but im going to get a bar of yours and try it and see what it smells like because i am sensitive to loud overbearing perfumes and scents too! I cant wait till these come out ❤❤😮. Thanks Holly for the great video.
Thanks! The J'Adore is very nice but I did use it at quite a lower amount. I think it's going to be just perfect. The Figgy Cream is my own blend but there are similar versions out there. The Figgy Cream name is mine though.
