I wish MLB would stop ruining baseball with stupid rule changes. The ghost runner was bad enough, but to add a golden AB would be the worse rule change ever.
The desperation by Manfred and co. thinking that turning this great pastime into a video game is embarrassing. The dumbing down of our game and culture. Happy I’m growing old.
An idea that I have had is that a playoff team can pick a player from a non playoff team to help them in the postseason. Then you would see like Mike Trout playing in the playoffs. Maybe it could be called the Golden Gun or something. I'm not sure I want it but it's just an idea
This is by far a worse idea than the ghost runner smh. This would happen in almost every game (depending on the potential rules) but the ghost runner only happens in the small portion of games that go to extras. I do agree that the ghost runner should be changed to the 12th inning and later though.
Dumbest idea ever. Having a so called golden at bat would completely abdicate the need for a manager to manage his bench. On top of that like Brian said it would screw up the stat sheets forever. The beauty of baseball is that anyone can be a hero at any time. This isn’t basketball where you can just get the rock to LeBron or football where you call a passing play for Mahomes to Kelsey. I wish they’d quit screwing around with the game already.

Another rule change I would do: let a pinch-runner pinch-run twice per game. As in, if the pinch-runner is taken out of the game before they take the field or have an at-bat, then you can still sub them in again later, but the second time they have to stay in or be permanently subbed out
If baseball does that i’ll stop watching. They do nothing to make the umps call the actual strike zone but would come up with this idiocy. Count me out
I would suggest changing the rule for a walk. If a player is walked, all runners advance one base. Would make intentional walks less attractive. No such thing as an open base.

Hasn't Manfred bastardized the game enough with the "ghost runner" rule? Now it's let's find a way to make the game only about a handful of "golden players." I despise the ghost runner still, and I always will.
So if the Golden At Bat is implemented then the other team also has the option of using the Golden Out Rule at that point. However, if the Golden Out is used, the team using it can’t use their Golden At Bat option. And vice versa… a team using the Golden At Bat loses their option to use the Golden Out. But the whole aspect of Golden At Bats and Golden Outs is as stupid as the Ghost Runner AND inter league play throughout the year. Just completely dumb.
First time watched... made me so grateful for my Locked on Mets. There is a professional in depth discussion. Here it's 2 silly wanna bees. Show was so silly. Too boot shes telling us she's a liberal by stressing shes not on Twitter - X any more for that dumb Blueky crap. Way they run this show that's where they belong.. Awful show....

Would be nice If walks would hurt more in a game. A rule like .. First walk for a player is one base, second walk 2 bases and so on. You can still walk a good batter but doing it more than once will become tricky
