Great review! The silver side mirror caps are a signature design of the R-Design, whereas the regular V40 gets body coloured mirror caps and the Cross Country gets black caps. I have a V40 myself, but in the UK, as I split my time between the UK and Malaysia. I do have the rear spoiler on my car, which is a genuine Volvo accessory over here. The V40 in Malaysia is specced pretty nicely I must say, with powered seats, auto-dimming rear view mirror, adjustable steering force, flexible boot floor, BLIS, CTA on the T4, and the addition of the TFT display, PCC and auto park on the T5 and Cross Country. I don't have all of those on my car as they're mostly options here. The only safety features standard are your usual stuff like ABS, EBD, 8 airbags (mine has the pedestrian airbag), DSTC, and City Safety. I have manual seats as standard, but I had to spec items like the auto-dim RVM and illuminated gear knob. The good thing is, I got to spec my car with the Sensus navigation with harman/kardon Premium surround sound and a panoramic glass roof. ;) The all important feature, I have a manual D2, which gives driving pleasure and fuel efficiency at the same time. =) From a fellow Malaysian car blogger, Alex P.S. I'm not a doctor, but my father was and he bought a Volvo 240GL as an upgrade. It was back when Volvos was big and square and felt like a tank.
This guy is a really good reviewer. Funny while pointing out things that other reviewers forget about or ignore. We don't want the speclist from a review. We want to know what the experience was like. Great job.
True since most of the world sit in the left seat and drive, it probably cost to much to change side for right hand drivers or isnt there a option of a button and electric handbreak?
Cool review! Covered lots of nice little bits and features of the car. I also wanted to say, I found the camerawork to be really great! Not sure what it is exactly, but it just looks more crisp and exciting than a regular car review, so keep up the great work, I'd say :D
Bro, that hand break on the left is because European car is left hand drive. However, your video is cool, simple and I love it. Really, I'm tired of PT reviews. They are too commercial. U know what I mean. =)
It is normal for a turbo-charged engine to have turbo-lag (delay boost response) which using engine exhaust waste to produce turbo power. For instance boost response, super-charged will be the answer. Hope this helps.
Mapping coupled with multistage turbos or even a single electric turbo will eliminate lag. Heavily pronounced turbo induced lag in a modern car is avoidable without the need for supercharging. My car has an Eaton m113 blower which is beautifully linear but it is an inefficient mode of forced induction not least of all because of the massive inducted temperature.
Can you explain how it's work for the hot air sucking out and prepare the cabin feature? Cos i went to Volvo, they seems dont know about this feature : / and i cant find any info regarding tis feature either on internet . Thanks ! Btw , good review !
Hey Vernon Ong, we believe this feature is stated in the manual. When the interior becomes warm in the V40, especially when parked under the sun, once you unlocked the car (doors remain closed) using the remote, it starts ventilating the cabin by sucking out the hot air. It only works if you have locked and unlocked the doors using the remote. It then stops after you've opened the door. However, we realize it doesn't work all the time. Probably not hot enough to activate it. Try it :)
The handbrake and hood latch on the passenger side is stupid haha. They can flip the steering and dashboard but not the handbrake and latch? Ugh thats european laziness there.

What do you mean that volvo belongs to the chinese?
NK Alif then you shouldnt board any plane because most of the skybridges are contracted by china company, not to mention high speed rails, lrt, trucks, buses so on.
LOL.. this not an advertisement kelvin Yoon, it's an honest review. There's good and there's bad about the car. What do you think about the V40 yourself? =)

Great review and well spoken. Could not see any car reviewers in Malaysia better than G C.Mah and Bobby Ang till now .
Good job and keep it up guys..
The hadbrake is not on the wrong side you are... lol
True since most of the world sit in the left seat and drive, it probably cost to much to change side for right hand drivers or isnt there a option of a button and electric handbreak?
Wow a new term called hadbrake lol.. nope you spelt handbrake wrongly
Cool review! Covered lots of nice little bits and features of the car. I also wanted to say, I found the camerawork to be really great! Not sure what it is exactly, but it just looks more crisp and exciting than a regular car review, so keep up the great work, I'd say :D

I like this car so much and i don't know about the hidden feature until i watched your video... great work
"if you're a doctor, then you definitely should" I laughed so hard here coz I'm a doctor and i love this car. Stereotype much ;)
Brilliant, cool, and very informative review. Keep up the good work Autobuzz!
Thanks for the Mursyid Omar! We hope you like all our other videos too :D
the handbrake position is because it is for left hand drive market.. so there you go
Hey zaidi rudy, yes, it is. But it's funny why Volvo doesn't move it over for right hand drive market :)
most probably due to cost savings lol
The good ole days of autobuzz :(
Best review on this car. Really well done.
Excellent video bro. Waiting for v40 T2 review :)
Awesome review, informative and funny, keep it up! :D
great review! thanks for posting :)
thanks 074jimbojones ! :)
Gonna get this car soon. Looks perfect. The only thing kacau me is the wheels. Its not sporty at all. Wonder why Volvo came up with such design.

Nice one!
Would you care to make a review about some compact car such as kia picanto?
Think it will be fantastic for students..
Thanks Anwar ML for the suggestion. We will definitely look into that :D

If there a vacancy for hosts for Top Gear Mysia TV series, i will recommend none other than GC!
Whoa! That would be an absolute honour Travis Chang! LOL!
nice watch
The power certainly comes in late. Max torque is from 2700 rpm - 5000rpm. Too late to be a fun car.
please do the review of Volvo V60 also please
good taste Kh Wong! We'll definitely look into that :D
mine in mexico has 246 hp kinetic
the handbrake nope not weird at all but its easier to pull up and down and also more room for the driver.... heheh ok bye
Volvo imitate the handbrake position with the FA-18 Hornet fighter jet.
They put the hand break to the correct place but the steering wheel not!! 😂😅
did someone just said jazz 2014?
Why is it NO for married person with kids?
malaysia always get cut cost car with high price
Oh well Abel Woo, that's how we 'roll'...
You should ask the car dealers in Malaysia. Why are they selling low features car with high prices.
the back arm rest? Isn't it for a child to sit?
The power is late bcz volvo did it for safety purposes..
Is it 1.5
2.0
Marrie with kids no! I will get it anyway :D
LOL! good choice chupeta POWER!
SUBSCRIBED!
thanks Mohd Hilmi bin Zamri!

What do you mean that volvo belongs to the chinese?
Sadly, China brand geely recently brought over volvo. Thus belongs to the "chinese"
I just test drove one. Interior is very plastic-e
Speaking too short time
i lose interest to this car after hearing that Volvo shifted flag ownership from Sweden to China
Its six years ago...get over it. Jaguar and Land Rover is owned by indian Tata motors but no one complain about that...
NK Alif then you shouldnt board any plane because most of the skybridges are contracted by china company, not to mention high speed rails, lrt, trucks, buses so on.
NK Alif only to survive - so I’ll buy...still built in Belgium anyway - no quality or engineering downsides!
THIS IS AN ADVERTISMENT...
