    You just created a new unit of measurement. Rm1000 per 1HP. Nice review, a huge world of difference from my sister old V40, which is a boxy wagon.

    actually the new volvo drive-e engine on this t5 (2litre turbo/245hp) is quite sufficient in daily use and the price tag of 188k i believe no other car can compare in term of cp value to it... look at the cla or bmw 3 series... can u get 245hp with 188k no way... unless u pay more than 200k. btw hope volvo will design some nice coupe with their decent engine on it.

      Just spend over just 60k and u'll get a 260hp when you buy a Mazda 3 mps🤣

    Hey Bobby. Your videos are great, with information and knowledge depth that is what we would like to hear. Your video contents are mainly from you speaking, so it would be perfect if you have a better mic and attach on your shirt. That would enhance the whole video and would be very clear to hear you speak throughout your long video.

    Hi bobby , was thinking of getting the V40 t5 that just launched last week. Only concern is and the cost of maintainence of a Volvo. So is it worth it getting one ? Or is Volvo now more reliable ? Thanks bobby

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      +Govind Chandrasekaran they're very reliable now. No issues. You can check their servicing interval costs and judge yourself. As their service interval is very long, cost of maintenance is reasonable.

      Govind Chandrasekaran I have owned my V40 for 4 years now (T4 petrol), no problems what so ever. Only standard service with oil changes.

    Got my eye on one of these V40's but I have a question.have you driven the D4? And is there much between the D4 and T5?I want something a bit smaller but with some pull and punch.im currently driving a V60 Driv e.

    400Nm of torque is almost the same as in 4x4 pickup truck (hilux, dmax, triton....)

    Wonderful review! Loved the car. Sadly I went to Volvo Glenmarie branch to book a car since 2 months ago, after loan etc secured, the final invoice to clear outstanding downpayment the vehicle price went up by almost RM 10k without any notification! Luckily i check properly! raise the issue but no clear reply other than "will look into it". You keen to do some investigative journalism on this beloved brand in Malaysia?

    Bobby, I just went to clear marque Volvo jalan kucing. He claimed that their polestar v40 is the only one in Malaysia, is that true? But you're driving a polestar too...

    Bobby, does this v40 with full polestar upgrades have the "dsg fart" sound when changing gears?

  • @Ruhielan2108
    @Ruhielan2108 7 ปีที่แล้ว +4

    Would you say that the 60k premium for Polestar is worth it or should i just go for the regular 180k T5 V40?

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Ruhielan Parameswaran Go for regular if you have even a little bit of thoughts on this. The polestar variant is really lock stock barrel piece by piece modification upgrades.

      I know its 1 year too late to reply but here my opinion.. i now have v40 t5.. thanks to this review.. i would have spend all that money to get a proper aftermarket parts like wheels, tires, exhaust, and a coilover. It really transform the car from a warm hatch to a hot hatch.. ive done wheels and tire upgrade.. been doing research about aftermarket exhaust and possibly a tune in the future..

    • @nurulhakiminajmudin1432
      @nurulhakiminajmudin1432 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Btw i also did a custom tune coilover to lower d car and still preserve some comfort as compared to stock suspension..

    Enjoyed ur videos .. hope to see more. A question, golf Gti (if it's still selling) or this ?

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Victor Law The golf gti drives better, and performs better in every measurable aspect in terms of space, packaging etc. But this car is more powerful, even though the crazy transmission speed of them DSGs might be able to catch up to this easily. This car has a more prestige feeling too in my opinion

    • @victorlaw
      @victorlaw 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Bobby Ang yea I definitely looks more prestige/refined. Like u said, this car u have to know it's a polestar, perhaps it similar like the buyer. They need to know what's a polestar volvo. Niche market I guess.

    Hi Bobby, big fan of your videos. I'm from Thailand and our automotive journalists aren't great. Really happy to see good reviews for ASEAN market cars.
    Considering to buy either an S60 T4 w/polestar rims/bodykit/exhaust or V40 T4 with Polestar rims/bodykit/exhaust. Having driven both, I would like to ask you:
    1. I am 182cm tall, which one has more rear legroom or around the same?
    2. Are either of them better to drive/more comfortable than the other in terms of suspension?
    3. Since the V40's design is newer, does it feel more refined compared to the S60 in terms of mechanics and interior quality?
    Thank you very much

    • @BobbyAngmalaysia
      @BobbyAngmalaysia  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +S M i would certainly go for the S60. The V40 is sporty looking and handsome and well built (S60 too) but the S60 is more spacious and more comfortable.
