Yeah, that is good for my area during flood gold times... I still haven't hit the honey hole yet which is better than that spot but pretty much good for 1 or 2 trips a year.... After that is cleaned out, I have to head down to New England and drive 3-4 hours for those numbers!... Cheers Lawrence!

pretty nice little pile of gold. its pretty much impossible to make a living just panning though. unless your on the Fraser or something, maybe Alaska. im in the black hills of SD and even here the placer mining sucks lol. ive found decent amount of gold by detecting my local parks, few oz worth over the last 5 years or so. jewelry i mean. ive only found maybe a half gram panning and sluicing in that same time period.
South Dakota is beautiful though! I detect as well but have never found anything valuable, I mostly detect old relics and stuff like that around old homesteads.... And yeah, I was actually kind of having a bit of a laugh at Mr Beast's expense, I don't think you can make a "living" anywhere just panning....
@AllThingsCountry74 the black hills are really pretty, no doubt! The rest of SD is a little boring, but not too many people to deal with. I haven't done much relic hunting, but that sounds like a lot of fun 😁

Those are great channels, I really like the aussie gold videos too! Not everyone likes everything, Dan Hurd can be a little "over the top" at times but he does know his stuff for sure.... Mr Beast is a career TH-camr and I can see why his channel isn't for everyone but, as I mentioned in this video, I have a lot of respect for him because he has done some really good things for society with his channel....

I have to let you in on a little secret. Dan Hurd isn't exactly my fav either. He's a school teacher that talks to everyone in his videos like their little children and seems to cater to newer prospectors that don't get out or have never been, and don't go yet, his current offerings seemed to have devolved into waste of time collabs and tourist pieces which don't offer a peaceful slice of prospecting out in the wild. Which is what many of us are after. With all do respect, hiding Mr. beast behind Dan Hurd just doesn't work sir. I feel as if this relationship is on the rocks. Thanks for the video though.
