For me as an absolute Arrma Fan Girl: XMAXX because of the durability. Once the issues on the Outcast (Shock shafts, Arms, Ball Ends, Chassis) are fixed: Outcast. Epic Video Kev, this is what I call a hands down comparison. 😘
Arrma fan too and I agree 100% with these issues... especially the shock shafts, it seems everybody bends these. I don't like the brace design either as the braces are on hinges. NOT a good idea!
HI Kimberly. I have the xmaxx 8s and Outcast 8s. Problems with the O8S =I'm bending shock shafts and breaking shock rod ends (fixed since I went with 30wt oil), rear links thread themselves in when you land on the rear wheels (I left mine like that and used the upper adjustment hole on the rear hub), the wing mount bolts break and the wing mount falls apart after a few bad landings, the bolts on the front where the steering link meets the steering knuckles breaks, the body cracks despite me putting gorilla tape, the front shock tower tries to go through the body (I put foam there), and the driveshafts bend (but not as bad as the Kraton 8s ones!). So yes, I agree that the Xmaxx is more durable because it weighs less. I jump vehicles around 15ft into the air and the xmaxx breaks less when you land wrong. The Kraton 8s is even WORSE because it weighs so much. It bends the driveshafts like a freaking banana. I'm seriously considering selling it for that one reason and just keeping my couple of xmaxx trucks and the Outcast 8s (since it's more durable than the K8S).
After much deliberating and many many hours of research and watching your TH-cam channel I finally decided to purchase the Traxxas Xmaxxs 8s yesterday. I have just come back from my first blast with the car and have to say a big thankyou to you Kev. The car is everything you said it was if not more I'm so impressed. Congratulations on the 1million subscribers mate.
You still happy with the XMaxx mate? Any overheating issues with the motor? Heard some people can only run it for 10mins, before they have to turn it off? I'm torn between buying the Xmaxx and the Outcast 🤔
Honestly I'm not too hard of a basher, so I really like the handling characteristics of the outcast 8s. I also like the stock electronics on the outcast 8s. The only thing I'd probably upgrade is the shock shafts and the arms.
I definitely think the X-Maxx is more durable. But the look and stance of the Outcast takes it for me. It may break a little more. But that's just part of the hobby.
From my 6 yr old boy who is a massive fan - "Can you do a strength test the XMaxx vs. FTX Tracer? Thank you!" The FTX Tracer is his first hobby grade RC car.
I still prefer the 8S arrma range. It is built to scale better and can generally go so much faster around corners... the x maxx is waaaay to clumsy for me...

When you can buy an Xmax and not have to upgrade that really says it all, if you have to upgrade everything on the outcast its certainly not the better of the two.
Oh yeah? My esc on the xmaxx didn't last long, (replaced with maxx 6s es), the rear hubs broke very fast (replaced with rpm ones), the body was trashes in no time (even with gorilla tape. Replaced with Russian body), the inner bearings only last a few runs, I break lower control arms frequently, the motor fans break easily (replaced with powerhobby ones), the stock wheels rip apart very quickly (even after taping and venting them. @@joseCalderon1976 I was really going off of Kevin's experience and review , im currently driving the kraton exb , with no hard bashing the rear bulkhead has already snapped, the plastic does seem extremely brittle. Replacing it woth the hot racing aluminum, hopefully that fixes the issue.

@@mgislao7 yeah it seems most people talking about these are only ever on nice flat surfaces and dont need great handling, causing me quite the struggle trying to find a good rc for the desert, quite a bit different than a skatepark/field, actually needs good rough terrain handling (currently trying to decide between kraton 8s, dbxl, and sbr 2.0)
Well , I don't own neither of them, but I have a Kraton EXB, which they label extreme bashing. I didn't put it through a lot, some jumping of maybe 15 meters if it's much with backflips, landing on grass. I've got like 12-13 batteries through it now, and to be honest I am not impressed. I mean the car is cool, I like driving it a lot. But durabilty wise for what they call extreme bashing it's a joke. I had the ball joints on the same front axle pop out twice already, two screws bent heavily after a rather small crash on the rear wing, and today was the best: I caught the "Super bash bumper" or however silly they call it on some grass so it was bent backwars a bit. And what happened? The little piece of plastic that connects it to the chassis just broke out. If I want to replace it I need to buy the whole damn front bumper, as that piece of plastic crap is not available as its own spare part. So if you ask me "Arrma tough" is a bad joke. I owned a 2WD traxxas stampede VXL for a year, I already bought it used, and it nearly never failed me. And that so called Extreme Bashing Kraton is breaking on every second or third run, no big things so far (I put LSD's into the rear diff to prevent it from breaking, don't get me started on that topic), but still, I am far from doing extreme stuff with it, and it keeps failing. So for me that was my first and last Arrma, I wanna spent time on the track and not on the workbench paying money for overprized spare parts. I am going to get a tekno MT410, much better worth the money. So without owning the X-MAXX or the Kraton 8S, I would always go for the X-MAXX, it's a tried and true vehicle, while the Kraton 8S is new, and already fails a lot right there in this Video.
Also I don’t know if it’s just because people can’t drive BUT we see FAR MORE. Broken xmaxx’s in our shop than the arrma 8s stuff. And we sell them equally the same
That's weird because most of the time my heavier chassis metal 8s Arrma trucks break MORE often my xmaxx 8s trucks. I'm even selling my K8S because I'm tired of bending the driver shafts and I'm tired of breaking the wing mount 🤔
I would chose xmaxx. It's the more durable truck. Not even a Arrma fan boy can argue that. I don't care personally how great a truck handles if it doesn't survive. Great video as always every single time I watch what your xmaxx survives it pushes me closer to buying 1.
@@joseCalderon1976 how long have you owned an Xmaxx? I'm going to get a Xmaxx this summer to bash, don't know if I will like it but it's a must have being that it sits on top of the RC rtr 4x4 truck pile. I must buy one to find out for myself. Can this thing be ran on 6s Batts?
Last week, I finally got a lightly-used 8s X-Maxx, and so now I'm having fun watching some of these older videos. So far, my only wish for the X-Maxx would be some scale-body options, to make it look like a third-scale quad, quarter-scale jeep, etc. I also recently bought an ARRMA Fireteam, and I Iove the scale look of it. I think the X-Maxx deserves the same treatment, and if Traxxas sold such scale bodies, I'd probably buy them all.

@@paulcherry1520 Yeah, i looked at how they were built and the only wear/breakage seemed to come from the rubbercushing but i dont really know if people had any other misfortune with it, or if the diffs tend to give instead?. I already choose! Picked the XMAXX the same one you have now. About to upgrade it w a Hobbywing Max 5 and 1100 KV motor and then add all the extras to keep it from breaking. Thanks for giving us some of the best RC content on the planet!
Great video as always. But Kev, didn't see wich one is faster. I like more xmax too. But I think outcast is faster out of the box. Waiting for speed run.
Bro when you unbox new toys please tell their running time & charging time too,u used to tell them in the old videos ,plz do that again it really helps ,plz
It depends what battery size the rc car recommends but you should get 10 to 15 minutes depending on how you run it. And change time with a hobbys grade changer can take 45 minutes to one hour.

I would chose xmaxx. It's the more durable truck. Not even a Arrma fan boy can argue that. I don't care personally how great a truck handles if it doesn't survive. Great video as always every single time I watch what your xmaxx survives it pushes me closer to buying 1.
I'd love an xmaxx or an outcast, but I dont have 900 bucks 😅
I have 3 Xmaxx trucks and one Outcast 8s. Oh yeah, two of the xmaxx trucks havd big block electronics and the Outcast 8s too 😂👍.
$1300 after truck and batts
@@surfside75 They put a big smile on my face when I take these monsters out to play.
Yes Arrma definitely has better scale body shells but the clipless Traxxas shells have me hooked!
There are many custom bodies for the Xmaxx out there or you can paint a clear one.
You changed the title from "XMAXX VS OUTCAST" to "Battle of WORLD'S BEST BiG RC Car"
Best RC channel by a country mile.
8:23 that stance matched the music so well.
Hey Kev! Just smashed the link to amain hobbies and got my very first xmaxx (the red one) and some batteries for an awesome price and fast shipping! My birthday is next month and this is gonna be the best part of it! Thanks for what you do!
Arrma tough baby! Gotta love a $900 rc that constantly snaps arms and bends shock rods and chassis after a couple of runs lmfao
arms and shock shafts i can live with but a weak chassis sucks!
@@KevinTalbotTV a bent chassis is worse then a broken a arm especially when the chassis is 99 bucks I'll stick with my xmaxx
If there is anything i hate about arrma vehicles it´s their damn drivetrain/slipperclutch. Thinking about getting a Mini Maxx, how are their drivetrains/cushdrive?
@@DirtyRC101 not sure of them I know I'm the erevo 2.0 and xmaxx I love the drivelines and that cushdrive seems to hold up good ' I beat the crap out of my erevo 2.0 for a while standing back flips and more lol
@@paulcherry1520 Yeah, i looked at how they were built and the only wear/breakage seemed to come from the rubbercushing but i dont really know if people had any other misfortune with it, or if the diffs tend to give instead?. I like the fact that their drivetrain is tucked away compared to my arrma´s...
always very honest and constructive observations and opinions 👍👍
I like how arma makes the clips on the body I have a rustler and I lose clips sometimes
yes i love them too!
I buy the arrma clips and drill a little hole and put those on my other rc cars now!
@@briandavis213 yeah I also do that, they're just $5
I already choose! Picked the XMAXX the same one you have now. About to upgrade it w a Hobbywing Max 5 and 1100 KV motor and then add all the extras to keep it from breaking. Thanks for giving us some of the best RC content on the planet!
How did you go with the upgrades?
Only try fans know that video used to be named "x maxx vs outcast"
notification gang!!!
Yup
Yep I was just about to say that
Xmaxx vs notorious wasn't it?
I know they are the same thing*
kevin is the coolest ! great video xmax is the best i think
When is the slash coming out?
True and udr what about the x-o1
maxx and xmaxx are best for me Kev ! absolutely love it !
I would love to see Kev's impressions of the Losi DB XL-E 2.0
Yeah me too but I don’t think it’s trashy enough for him... Losi may be a little too high class for our boy
@@theLyzhendricks 🤣
I think I've decided on the Xmaxx, thank you for the video Mr. talbot. I love our Hoss, but I gotta finally get the XMAXX
I go for the Xmaxx, it’s just quicker to do things on it and it is a really good basher!
I like both but the outcast is definitely quicker top end
Great video as always. But Kev, didn't see wich one is faster. I like more xmax too. But I think outcast is faster out of the box. Waiting for speed run.
I feel brotatochip that ya might of abused the arrma a little more lmao
Hi Kevin, do you have a got a video how to shim your diffs. My team corraly kronos strips gear pretty quick...
Well Kevin i think you've finally talked me into getting the xmaxx. Here we go.. (sound of empty account)-$-$-$
Haha Ive bought an xmaxx and now a Kraton EXB because of Kev 🤣🤣💲💲💲💲
X Maxx all day mate!
5:23 how bmw drivers park
😂
My guy was sending it with the outcast!!
Bro when you unbox new toys please tell their running time & charging time too,u used to tell them in the old videos ,plz do that again it really helps ,plz
Its difficult cos i rarely run an RC from star to finnish in 1 go
@@KevinTalbotTV 😂
@@KevinTalbotTV ok
It depends what battery size the rc car recommends but you should get 10 to 15 minutes depending on how you run it. And change time with a hobbys grade changer can take 45 minutes to one hour.
For me too ,the Xmaxx is da champion 🏆 steals undefeated 🥳💪
Imagine Kevin like this comment
And now it's a reality
Didn’t expect that thanks for the like
Xmaxx every day in the week love it so much one of the best rc trucks out there ❤
One of your embarrassing comments made it onto VoiceOfThunder's videos lol
You might wanna fact check what you claim before posting mate as he has made you look like a right prat🤣

Also might help if you read the whole page.
based on your videos Kev i ordered my first xmaxx today. It arrives tomorrow. AND my wife said it was OK :) Can't wait to pop my xmaxx cherry!
I like the X-Maxx👍👍👍
WOW EPIC VIDEO!!! I am sure that the Xmaxx is the best r/c car and then the arrma outcast XD!!!
why dont you use the KRATON insted of the OUTCAST?
Ken lipo connector, What type you use?it is t or xt?
Спасибо за видео Бро! Лайк! Кевин подскажи пожалуйста какой можно поставить регулятор скорости на X-Maxx? у меня стоковый вышел из строя(
What gearing do you normally run in the xmaxx for bashing
Is it possible for these to have regenerative braking. Like an F1 car, n Tesla. So then braking should put abit of power bk in the battery?
Xmaxx any day! When it comes to mudding Xmaxx is the king 😀
Both rigs r awesome broski!
XMAXX all day long brother 👍😎
I personally love arrma, I feel like just look of the landing on the outcast is so moth and sweet. I also like the low center of gravity to it and how it’s able to pull off those awesome stunts. Personally arrma outcast all day
Awesome recording with the outcast
Just got a used Maxx , can’t wait to get a XMaxx !
The XMaxx is king. But the look, and stance of the Arrma has an upper hand on the XMaxx IMO.
x maxx for life
X maxx for the win!!
Bought that exact x maxx cause of you freaking love it x maxx forever
Traxxas should release a Xmax with all of Kevin's recommended mods and say on the box TALBOT TOUGH!
