    Gavin, this episode is "next level" in so many ways. Just a stunning presentation of not only the rock art, but the crash site as well. Perfect blend of footage and information.

    Great work Gavin. Thanks for taking us to such incredible places. I grew up in Australia and moved to California in 2010. Finding these clips takes me back to old precious memories and new places I hope one day to visit myself.

    Awesome addition to the catalogue Gav. Fantastic Rock Art, I feel very privileged to see it. The only thing better would be to see it in person one day. Thanks again and well done. They just keep getting better.

    The rock art was amazing mate! Interesting insight into the 2 art styles. McGowans Island Campground looks a treat.

      Chris Lai thanks mate, I'm glad you enjoyed that. I really like the aboriginal history and it was fascinating talking with an anthropologists about the possibility that the Bradshaw art was from original African migration and the younger art potentially being the migration of asian descent migrants.

    Those paintings are cool, I was surprised how close you can get to the burial site when I was there but no signs saying no photos or anything.

    • @GavinGillett
      @GavinGillett  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Darren Moore yeah no signs when I was there too. It had a fence though. I thought that was good. I tried getting more information about the site. I spoke with anthropologists and indigenous elders but nobody knew anything about the sites history.

    Australia has been linked to Africa, for example, the Island of Madagascar, the people resembling the Aborigines of Australia. Many tales of Australian aborigines are reported in Ethiopia, and even Angola, for example.

    Brilliant viewing this on ....... Australia Day :)
    Best expressed by the words in this Goana song;
    Out here nothin' changes, not in a hurry anyway
    You feel the endlessness with the comin' of the light o' day
    We're talkin' about a chosen place
    You wouldn't sell it in a marketplace, well
    Well just a minute now
    Standing on solid rock
    Standing on sacred ground
    Living o-on borrowed ti-i-i-ime
    And the winds of change are blowin' down the line

    Hey Gav,love your work mate,hate to tell you but thats not a B25,think it's a Lockheed Hudson. en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lockheed_Hudson#/media/File:Lockheed_Hudson_III_Point_Cook_Vabre.jpg

    • @GavinGillett
      @GavinGillett  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh, well thats cool. I was told it was a B25 by locals but there are plenty of visual similarities with your photo. I will have a deeper look it. I love a mystery :D Thank you for writing in and letting me know :D

    Rock art shows that we were part of the main African Continent at some stage . Would not have been a good place to be when all hell broke loose. Let’s hope it never happens again at least not in our life time or our siblings time.

      Trevor Fidge interesting, I always thought the breakup was slow over time. Never occurred to me it could have been a violent reaction to something

    the out of Africa thing is a theory. Looks like they didn't bury them just left them where they died by the looks of the skulls. I suppose the national parks department know about them. " Matt Flinders " lol How good is that name? the other Matt Flinders and his cat, " Trim " www.abc.net.au/news/image/8302512-3x2-700x467.jpg B25 fantastic find. I wonder is it's been officially recorded? ah! here it is www.goodall.com.au/australian-aviation/kimberley-war-relics/kimberleyrelics.html

    How did the fire start?

    • @GavinGillett
      @GavinGillett  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Normally fires like this in the north west are started for control purposes by local authorities via aerial fire bombing.

    • @jsoverland
      @jsoverland 7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Interesting. Similar to Yellow Stone.

    • @GavinGillett
      @GavinGillett  7 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah I think it's interesting too. Because the area is so big they do a lot of fire prevention from the Air in Australia. Little known fact, we also have a species of bird we call fire hawks which literally use fire to hunt. They will pick up burning sticks from one area and move them to another. Set fire to the land and thrn hunt the fleeing animals :)
