A Fly Fisherman's Morning | Nymphing the Little Juniata River for Wild Brown Trout

- When Joel and I (Caleb) went to the Little J, I didn't have this voice over style edit in mind, I found it in the edit. Between the foggy morning, the song I found and the morning we had, the video felt like it needed something. So I wrote down what came to mind as I watched through the footage and had Joel record it and voila.. here we are.

@@alleghenynative Nothing. I was surprised. I nymphed upstream and then tried a wooly bugger downstream I think I'm going to try below Barree next time. I was working upstream from the parking lot around the railroad bridges and getting up and down from the trail is really hard at my age. There was one time I didn't think I could get back up and then I remembered that I was alone, miles from a paved road and out of cell phone coverage, so I just toughed it out.

just when i thought these videos can;t get any better, then you pull this one off! Loved the entire vid, but I gotta say, I re-watched 14:28 mark 5 freaking times!!... If I knew you better, I would have no problem saying "the toothless wonder" did it again! Taking a gun fishing is not normal. What a sad, weird culture to normalize it. 😢
@@canadiangemstones7636 It Depends entirely on where you're at, but having a gun while fishing has been and still is normal (yt doesn't like them so you won't see them on here). Wildlife threats have been minimized but are not a certainty.
I’m just getting into Fly fishing and I’ve loved your videos. Plenty of information to help a newbie like me hook into some fish. I also just picked up the Allegheny native dry dropper box from Lively Legz!! can’t wait to use it. I plan on heading to Potter County in the next few weeks. Any go to flys/ tips for this time of year? Can’t wait for the next video!
Hey buddy thanks for all the support it really means alot to us. But yea this time a year we fish a dry/dropper a lot due to water being lower so we can stay back and still fish both feeding zones. That dry dropper box has all the flies we pretty much use this time of year. If ya have any more questions don’t hesitate to ask. Tight lines buddy!

I went out today, I got out about noon hoping to hit the caddis hatch that's been happening. Didn't matter, the kayakers were out in force on the Kinnickinnic river here in river falls. I ended up hitting the brookies streams and did pretty well, till I watched a large snapping turtle enter the river and proceed to eat a trout 10 feet from me. If you want to come out this way, hit me up. I also know a river in Wyoming that has the best cutthroat trout fishing. This river isn't allowed to be named. 😉 and there's a crap load of grizzlies on it. 😬 had an up close experience last year. With one.
