Think of this way: If you love your dog immensely and it's intelligent enough to talk to you, it is your companion, but you'll still long outlive it. To him, a Viltrumite to a human is what a human is to a dog, but they're genetically similar enough that she can also be his mate. That's partially it. The other part is she rejected him in their house, so now he's guarding his ego by minimizing her importance and defaulting to what he was raised to believe in about his people relative to all other species.

What’s crazy is that despite Nolan doing all of this he’s not even the strongest viltrumite just one of the strongest. There’s two other viltrumites that are stronger than him and neither are truly no joke. Mark’s fight against his dad here is basically a pillow fight compare to his yet to be seen fights with the other two.
