    Excellent review. As somebody who didn't back the kickstarter I'm not surprised that some of the positives are linked to content that will come in the second wave of shipping. The concept of the game sounds brilliant (it would be perfect for a game set in the Game of Thrones universe) but the core box just didn't come with enough minis to warrant the price

      I guess you might be right about the core box. That's an issue with many KS games - core box itself without the addons may seem lacking in the price vs content department. I was so into this title that all in was a no-brainer but I understand the reservations. Thank you for sharing your opinion. And thanks for checking out my review :)

    Spot on for everything. We are over half way through and totally agree with all you said. The good and great easily outweigh the negative.

    7 adventures in and still having fun. Glad to hear your opinion.Regarding sleeves: I use a thin blunt blade with a rounded tip to lift sleeves to fit the cards. Has worked well to avoid damage. Also found the square cards tend to warp even when not used; weird.

      @lonevik  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Oh yeah the warping happens to me also... weird truly. I am not convinced with the sleeving. It's a bit much to be having to use a tool in order to manipulate cards to avoid damaging anything :/ good idea but I guess it can be iterated to be better still... glad to hear you are this far in the game :)

    I've been having a lot of fun with the game. I worry about things getting a bit same-y with the number of non-boss enemies, but when the rest of the KS delivers, that should be resolved.
    I share in your concern with a lot of the durability issues with the point of interest board, the sheet, and the sleeves. No problems so far, but I have been very careful.
    My biggest concern (which again may change as we're very early) is that there doesn't seem to be personal adventures (specifically tied to which character/class) in the game.
    Regarding items, I definitely have thoughts. First, as a dimwalker, my character doesn't have an issue with generating chronicle points to spend on items, but the warrior and ranger in the party do have some issues. So perhaps that is something that needs tweaking, but we're also pretty early in the game. We have made a house rule that we can "use" an item without actually doing any of the card text, so you don't get stuck on a useless item. It is an interesting mechanic though that I can see as being devisive.

      Totally agree with you on the item issue. We are also experiencing some trouble with C in our 3player game although if you check out my solo playthroughs on my channel, I had no such issues with the Bard. We are still sticking with the rulebook for now being sparse with spending our hard earned C so that we have it at hand in crucial moments, but I am thinking of a house rule that C can be shared when you are in a Party. So that all characters can benefit from a common pool while fighting or exploring together. That might ease the burden as well. I've been hearing a lot of voices in the comments on the channel and otherwise about durability too... but I guess we will just have to wait and see. The concept of the PoI board and pockets on the map board is refreshingly original and I hope it will stand the test of time - or it will at least get tweaked and introduced in some more games, as it feels cool :)

    So, I haven't played the game but am now ready to give it a go and have painted 3 random heroes.
    Do the big enemies also come and go at random or are they mostly seen once? Just thinking of which to paint first after the Draugrs (the big Troll of course!).
    Do you know if any of the heroes from Lost Stories are to be favored instead of the core box?

      Only played the Core Box campaign for now and haven't even touched the content of the add-ons - cause they came so late. As for the big minis - they don't pop up that frequently which is a bit disappointing but in line with the story narration. I was irritated at how little enemy variety there is in the core box because I felt like I am constantly cycling between the Draugr and the Archers. :/

      @@lonevik yes I've played 3 adventures now and can already se repetition is a big minus in the game. Especially when playing solo and have to recycle the feat cards all the time x 3 etc.

    So your biggest complaint is you can't run two campaigns simultaneously!?! Thats quite encouraging to hear and quite differernt from the norm given how negative most reviews are of this game. Do you think some of the negativity stems from the game not being like how people have percieved it/think it should be? (i.e. A bit like Bloodborne!)

    • @lonevik
      @lonevik  10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I feel that people were a bit disappointed about the difficulty. It is a pretty straightforward game - with a great narrative - and it had potential to be more complex. I find it ok, because I had not high expectations - I enjoyed it a lot. Also I liked the bag building element while there were complaints of it being too random. But dice rolling would be just as random :) lastly, the rules are a bit finnicky but I tend to play coops and narratives in a way that when a rule is unclear I rule for the benefit of the party :D
