    I understand your point, but you can't compare tap water's EPA standards to bottled water being non-environmentally friendly. Those are two different issues. The main question is, does bottled water have less contaminants? You should have tested bottled water and compared it to tap water or something like that. Once we solve that, THEN we can decide whether we are willing to take on more contaminants for the sake of saving the environment, which may indeed be a good idea if it's in low doses.

      Bottled water is essentially tap water in a plastic bottle. That container will then introduce new contaminants like polymer additives. I think it would be a great idea to do a thorough chemical analysis of tap vs bottled water but I think that’s more of a research project and less accessible for other people to learn from. The biggest difference is that the county is required to report contamination levels to the public and bottled water industry doesn’t. I think we should invest our time in requesting complete transparency from all on our water quality.

      @@imariwalker We definitely need a more research. I've seen a ton of conflicting information. Some say 25% of bottled water is tap water. Some say 40%, others say 65%. I just need more definitive data from independent researchers, not funded by big business, to shed more light on this issue. We may stop drinking bottled water, but I'm confident the water industry is crafty enough to morph into something else that we are okay with, but secretly is also destroying our environment. Anyway, thanks for posting this and putting it on our minds!!

    Did this, searched up Wilmington North Carolina drinking water quality and every single article was talking bad about how it causes cancer, and that there is 8 different things that cause health problems

      Knowledge is power! PFAS in the Wilmington water system has been a growing issue that their working on addressing. If you have a good at home water filtration with reverse osmosis (RO) it should remove most of those contaminants. Thanks for watching and looking further into your own water health.

    I need a copy of that "Inside your cat's mind" magazine!
    Let's not forget that bottled water is also rich in microplastics and the health consequences of consuming microplastics are still a big unknown!

      Oh yes Microplastics are always in bottled water 😬. I got the cat magazine at the grocery store. Seemed like the perfect time to pull it back out for a video 😂

    Love this video. I'm going to check out our water. Right now my family only drinks Ice Mountain spring water. But I would like to stop using all those bottles. I'll invest in filters soon.😍

      Oh yay! Definitely get a brita filter first. It’s only $25 and you just have to replace the filter every few months. The other fancy water systems are pretty expensive when the Brita already does a great job!

    I've been drinking tap water my whole life but recently, I've heard some pretty spooky things about the EPA.
    Nice job with your videos. Good to inform the people...
    Could you make a video about the carbon footprint of the military industrial complex?

    • @imariwalker
      @imariwalker  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you for your support! I am currently not the most qualified to talk about carbon footprints right now since most of my knowledge is on chemical contaminants in our household products and water. But I will keep that idea in mind for the future if I get some time to do more research on it!

      @@imariwalker thanks for your answer. I totally understand. There already is plenty of material on the subjects you're specialising....
      Oh and by the way, I recently ran into a short video that covers the carbon footprint of the military industrial complex.

      It's not too bad although I believe it is still largely underestimated.
      There's also an interesting article on
