I wish all New Zealanders (myself included) were as enthusiastic about Aotearoa as you are - it's so easy to get bogged down in the everyday grind and forget how fortunate we really are to live here. It's nice to be reminded of it. Thanks. I had to stop the video and head off to watch theSlacks. Absolutely loved the video and binge watched a few of them. I wrote and played the piano and organs on this song, and sang some Background Vocals, and I played the “Exhausted Dad” in the queue :) They keyboard is a vintage Wurlitzer (200 series I think) owned by Sam Johnson at Rhythm Ace studio. I’m from Gisbourne the other side of the North Island , where the sun shines bright and people speak proper and where the fish and chip shop was born…this is where the sun shines out of the chip shop , where the potatoes grow to become the CHIP…where the original fryer is converted to a chippy next to the pua shells…

I am glad you love NZ so much. And your commitment to each other is fantastic. For me, though, Aotearoa is a difficult place to live. Salaries are low, prices are high. I have watched people become less caring and more angry. We achieved one ofbthe highest standards of living in the world, and I have watched this living standard fall over the past few decades. I have lived overseas, and I find NZ people very difficult to understand in comparison to other cultures. We drive entrepreneurs, forward thinkers, and champions out of our country. I love my country, but I have seen little love in return. I pray for this land, as I know God loves all Kiwis, be they Maori, Samoan and other Pasifika, Asian, European, or any other culture. We have so much potential. The tragedy for me is seeing that potential go to waste.

It can be easy to forget our uniqueness and positive aspects. We can get critical of ourselves. To hear the good things about NZ from an immigrate has alot more value than from ourselves. Thank you for your videos as it reminds us Kiwis to appreciate and be proud of who we are and what we have. Next time I'm in Taranaki, dinners on me. 😊

Thank you. It's a pet peeve of mine and I usually suffer in silence.
You know, in te reo Māori, there is no 's' in a plural? So whether there is 1 kiwi or 100 kiwi, there should never be an 's'. Not on a crusade or anything, just think it's interesting how wrong we get this one, and happened to read this comment and had a little chuckle.
