Welsh is very difficult indeed. I think it translates to: "The sound of mist, smell of moss-grown woods, granite, lichen, the trees and the moon, weaving my world into tapestry of life." Or something like that. . . . . . 🙂

I like the subtitles. I've heard this song so many times, but I didn't catch all the lyrics before. Nightwish sure found a treasure in Troy. He plays 5 (or something) different instruments and he sings! But the whole band is a collection of treasures really. They're all so talented.

I listened to a fair amount of Symphonic Metal and in all my listening I have never come across another band using pipes and whistles like Nightwish. You are correct. It is is incredibly rare in my opinion.

as a flautist, just wondering if you have heard Ian Anderson from Jethro Tull. he is one of a kind. probably before your time. well worth checking out since he is self trained but have watched classicly trained flautist amazed at his technique and showmanship on stage

Before he joined Nightwish, I first saw Troy play live for British folk rock band Mostly Autumn, one of the most underrated bands I've ever seen.

I'm 58 & love so many types of music. But Nightwish is really becoming my favorite, with Floor. She is so precious.
i think i was 9 years old when my Finnish teacher gave me Outsiders by S. E. Hinton to read, that book made me read a lot of books.

Check out the Folk metal band Eluveitie, they use whistles, harps, pipes, hurdy-gurdy, violins. Much more versatile then Nightwish.
