    🚧 All of the information in this video, holds true for the 2023 Rebel 300 as well! The ONLY changes are that there was a $50 price increase AND some color changes: Candy Diesel Red REPLACES Pearl Blue and Matte Black Metallic REPLACES Matte Gray Metallic for 2023.
    As always, thanks for watching and helping support all of this. I really appreciate it guys!

      7:10 Why did you have to show that.....ugg, now I want that more than the current rebel...hate the "modern-ness" of a lot of bikes nowadays, I am 28 but don't like modern looking bikes. Now I will be looking for a Rebel 250 instead.

      I had one for a while. When I bought it the salesman said it wouldn't be a good freeway bike. I beg to differ. I thought it did just fine. Did 85 in a strong headwind and was able to pass other traffic on the freeway.

      I would like a 500, but I can't afford it and don't want to wait to save as it would take a year to save 2k. I only need to drive at 70 every day for my daily freeway commute, but my concern is my weight which I'm 6'1 @ 250 pounds and the engine rpms running highs most of the time which would affect lo longevity.

    I was going to buy a rebel 1100 but found out Honda limit the speed to 100mph, the rebel 500 has the limit set to 95mph, the rebel 300 has no limit set and will do 108mph. Now will buy a 300.

    I have wanted a rebel 500 since they were first developed. I would really love to have the 1100 now though. Even if money wasn’t and issue, I’d rather have a couple year old 1100 instead of any new Harley Davidson model. Low seat height (I’m only 5’9” and 35yrs old so I’m only getting shorter with age) and the power-to-weight ratio makes this tied as my dream bike right next to the Indian FTR1200.
    Realistically, it’s not just money holding me back at this point; I have 4 Honda motorcycles in my garage now and I think I’d piss my fiancé off by buying another bike right now.

      Oh yeah, the Rebel 1100 when it comes to performance for the $$ in a cruiser package is incredibly hard to beat! If only we can get past these crazy rona values on everything used, those couple year old Rebels will finally start to depreciate a little lol!
      Naaaah, you already have 4 so the odds are she won't notice another tucked in there lol! ...or, one could say it's not too late to just give it a try and see what she says to 5 before you "officially" put the ring on it and then you'll really know whether or not she's a keeper lol 😉

    I was leaning hard on the Shadow Aero, but after my motorcycle accident in April (hit a deer and totaled my Rebel 250 after 7 years), I have my eye on the Rebel 300 as a not horribly expensive replacement for the Rebel 250... I just got to heal up and need one more hand surgery after July 4th. I love the blue on the Rebel 300, it's light, there are actually a decent amount of saddlebags that fit (for whatever reason, the Shadow Aero doesn't have much of an option without relocating the turn signals), nearly 80 mpg in the days of $5.25 gas, there are cool tire options - like the Pirelli MT60RS (enduro 80% on-road and 20% off-road), I think the fork gators and fork covers should be standard from factory, the pleaded upgrade seat, and the cool looking headlight cowl. Plus it has a 6th gear, so those thousands of miles I rode at 55-60 mph nearly topped out in 5th gear, the Rebel 300 should be sitting comfortably and very relaxed at a lower rpm in 6th gear at those speeds.

    • @godwhomismike
      @godwhomismike 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Mark Andrews Thank you. The recovery process sucks... work broke my chops because of little things - I continued working with a broken right hand, it's frustrating not being able to do many things, it's frustrating having a ton of hospital follow ups (each one costing $$$), it sucks finding out the surgery did not go so well because the pins slipped out of place and it is healing 10-15% out of line, and hospital billing departments screwing up left and right - so all of those phone calls trying to sort things out. Not really painful - well the first week and a half were bad, but then it's just a ton of endless annoying headaches after that.

      No mam, sadly there is no DCT version of the Rebel 300 or 500 - it's an exclusive option only to the 1100 at this time. Hopefully Honda will hurry up and start trickling that DCT option down to more cruisers and really, more motorcycles in general as there aren't really any smaller bikes with a DCT.

    • @georgebuendia3491
      @georgebuendia3491 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      The rebel 250 was my first bike and I would definitely recommend this as anybody's first bike. The low seat and low center of gravity is very forgiving. I had 80 lbs of gear on my Rebel riding at 65mph and one of two straps snapped that was holding the gear to my passenger seat and sissy bar. The bike went into a deep wobble then righted itself and I was able to pull over and fix things. The 250 rebel is what most riding schools use. And if you do lay it down you don't have to be a power lifter to get it upright. Good luck and take it to a big parking lot first and do figure eights and learn how to ride slow and in control.

    @geraldscott4302 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    I think all the 2017 and newer Rebels are by far the ugliest bikes ever sold in the U.S. by a Japanese manufacturer. They are basically brand new rat bikes. But despite their hideous looks, I did manage to find a use for the 300. I am 64, and have serious knee and hip joint issues, as well as fairly severe arthritis. I rode a Yamaha XT225 dual sport bike for 15 years, and it finally reached the point where I could no longer get on or off without standing on something. The seat was just too high. It also had tube type tires, and I was no longer able to fix a flat with tube type tires by myself out in the middle of nowhere. And you get a lot of flats riding around in the AZ desert with tube type tires. So I gave up and let the XT225 sit for several months, and finally sold it. But I still wanted to ride off road. I started looking for a small street bike with a low seat and tubeless tires. The Rebel 300 was the ONLY one out there. All other small street bikes had tube type tires. I went to a stealer dealer and sat on one. It was fairly easy for me to get on and off of. So I started looking for a used non ABS model. ABS sucks everywhere, but on dirt it means you basically have no brakes. I found a 2019 model with no rear seat. I took it on some dirt roads and smooth trails. It did surprisingly well. I put a flap on the rear of the front fender, a gravel guard over the radiator, and an eBay rack on the rear fender. I also put a bash plate on it to protect the engine. Yes they actually do make bash plates for the 300 and 500 Rebels. A place called T-Rex Racing sells them. I am going to put side racks on it to attach saddlebags to, and MT60RS supermoto tires on it. Not only does it work well off pavement, but it looks a lot better when covered in dirt. It kind of looks like something from a Mad Max movie.
    The Shadow Aero 750 used to be a beautiful bike. But they completely ruined the looks of it with those ugly black wheels. But even back when it looked so good, it was practically worthless for going very far from home with because of its tube type tires. Tube type tires are several times easier to get flats with than tubeless tires, and they cannot be fixed beside the road. A flat with tube type tires means a tow truck. And a tow truck means huge $$$. With a tubeless tire, you can just plug it, reinflate it, and be on your way. I keep wondering why we still have tube type tires in 2023? What happened to those wonderful wire spoked wheels designed for tubeless tires that Honda made for the 1986 and 1987 Rebel 450? They were only made two years, and never seen again.

      Super easy safe bike to ride. Good beginning bike wouldn’t recommend for long highway speeds as it tops out at 80 mph and most highway idiots are driving well over that so best to be out of traffic than close to speeds. But overall a great street bike easy to zip in and out of traffic.

We've needed that for years as it would only help Honda put even more of a stronghold on this segment of the market, while also bringing in a LOT of people that would've never considered a Rebel. good grief..I cant get ABS with pearl blue color. black gets ABS only. horrible limited selection. its tank and fender and honda acts like the whole bike needs to be painted. blacked out bikes are the most boring of all color selections. 2021, 2022 and 2023 are all same color schemes for 300. way to go honda.

    As a total I'm torn between the 300, which is more affordable or the 500, which has more power. I have no choice but to ride on 50-70 mph roads, so i want something safe. Question: i was set on an xmax 300...would the 300 be a better option?? Their engines are very similar in specs but I love the storage options with the xmax. Or would I be better off with a 300?? So many choices...I'm 5'11, 155. The 500 seems like the better option but it's gonna hurt more in the wallet. Thoughts??
