You did a much better job explaining the screen than the dealer did. Thanks!

I agree. Even the Indian videos on TH-cam are terrible at explaining this. Great walkthrough.

Love my 2018 Indian chieftain limited, I think the 17-19 looks the best.🎃

Thank You. I just purchased my first Indian. Even though it Is a 2021 I still found this to be helpful.

You could not add the tire pressure monitor to that one screen because it was already present in the larger format on the left hand side. You can have it on multiple screens just not multiple times on the same screen.

Very informative video Rick. I have a 2018 Roadmaster I bought last year and am still trying to figure out all this new technology. These new bikes are nothing like my 2003 Indian Chief Standard. :)

I had an identical 17 like yours. A car hit me and totaled it. I bought a 2020 . it's better in every way than My 17 except the ride command. While it functions just ok, it is not as intuitive as your 17. Also, it is painfully much slower on boot up l. Also, the 2020 Does Not offer average or instant MPG info. I sorely miss that morsel of info the 17 provided.

I noticed the slower boot up too. Wonder why they didn't address that.

@@rickiekm I don't know. I wonder if the new operating system is burdened with the live traffic and weather overlay?

@@jimtomstimpson1477 Word on the streets is that the entire system was produced by a different vendor, Harmon Kardon I believe. They say it has a quad core processor which leads me to believe the bugginess is a software issue. Folks are having all kinds of issues with this new system. It reboots on its own while riding resulting in everything having to be reconnected for CarPlay (have to pull over). Sometimes recognizes the headset other times it doesn't. super slow boot times. GPS maps move so slow that it would be easy to miss turns. Basically the current system is trash. The tech is souring the experience for many owners of the new bikes. Bike is great, tech sucks. Since its all integrated unfortunately we don't have the option of just not using it. Besides, that's a huge part of why we pay what we pay for these machines. Indian owes us some updates soon! it's been 7 months since the last update.

@@motoGPness I'm not unhappy with the my 2020 ride command , it functions well. I just don't like it as well as the Ridecommand my 2017 was equipped with.

@@jimtomstimpson1477 Fair enough. This is my first bike with an infotainment setup so I don’t have any reference. I also know Indian will work the bugs out, I’m just not fully satisfied with the current versions performance.

How do you change the ride command background/wall paper.. I see when i hit the center/display power button, it shows the background, but i cannot figure out how to upload an image.

Hi Rick ... sorry but the 2020 Ride command has the worstest navigation system I have ever seen. ... A friend here in Germany has a 2020 Roadmaster Elite. He can only surching for a destination in Germany. Other destination for example in France, Italy, Sweden and so on? ... Nope! There is no point in the navigation settings to change the countrie so you can routing to (for exemple) Paris in France. .... OK, for you in the US maybe not a big deal, but here in Europe you can ride in some hours to other countries. ... Is this the way, to handle the customer in Europe? 40.000,- €. for a bike with a navigation system that kidding us? ... Since 1 year this situation and POLARIS has done nothing! ... BTW: My 2017 Ride command in my Roadmaster works fine. ... Sorry for my sh... english.

It sounds like Indian has to step it up in regards to UE. Works OK here in the US.

Hi Rick, can the 2020 RC make a Route to a destination in Canada or Mexico? Do the 2020 RC have a button on the screen for change the countrie?
