2025 INDIAN SCOUT 101 FIRST IMPRESSION
มุมมอง 4.3K4 หลายเดือนก่อน
It was a dreary day, and I had to go for a little ride. What better thing to do but demo a motorcycle. Just so happened my local Indian dealer had the demo truck available, and also the new 2025 Scout. If you haven't checked one of these out, and you are in the market for a mid sized cruiser, this has to be near the top of the list. Check this bike out, it's a winner.

Sometimes bad things happen when you're out on the road. For those that have a problem like we did, you might want to look into picking up one of these cable kits #03336.
MORE COMFORT after 50K MILES
มุมมอง 945ปีที่แล้ว
You are never done tweaking your bike. After over 50K miles, I thought about adding a bit more comfort. New reduced reach handlebars were in order, and also a new Butt Buffer seat pad.

FIRST RIDE 2023/SUMMER PLANS/INDIAN SPORT CHIEF
Cool stuff😎
Thanks this helped a lot knowing what bolts in the bottom to loosen.
great vid on how to change bars. I have the mini apes bars that comes with the Bobber darkhorse. I want to replace to the original super chief cruiser bar. Do i need longer brake line or will the oem line reach, also do i need to purchase additional clutch side grip handle? Thx
I think that your cables should work OK, and if you are lucky you can remove your clutch side grip. We couldn't get ours off, so we had to purchase another one.
@rickiekm Thank you so much for your reply. debating on replacing the bars. It's great to have your video as a reference. Thanks again Ride safe😊
Great video, do you feel any helmet buffeting? I have the 18.5 freedom windshield and have helmet buffeting, i was suggested to put on fork wind deflectors and should help, i do feel alot of up draft wind coming up by lower gas tanks by inside thigh area. any thoughts would help. thx
The fork wind deflectors are a great idea.
I ordered the 2 in ones, how long does the bolts need to be for 2in ones to make it work? Please let me know if possible.
I mentioned how long the bolts were for adding a 1 1/2” spacer, so just add a half inch to that.
Same issues but indian is refusing to fix the issue. Corporate even had to call me to say thats normal
Well that sucks
These don’t require tuning?
After we added the exhaust we added a high flow intake and flash.
Where did you got those small wings on your second cylinder ?
Kuryakyn
@@rickiekm and are really practical ?
Hi Rickie,.. just catching up on your videos. Those give Brenda's bike a great growel. Regards, Lindsay
Hi Rickie, it looks like a fun bike to ride. Thanks for the first impressions video. Regards, Lindsay
Nice ride Rickie, great video. Regards, Lindsay
Hi Rickie, Nice video and ride. Your bike still looks great. Regards, Lindsay
Hi Rickie!! Great looking Mach 1. I love the sound the way it is. Congratulations on the new ride. Regards, Lindsay
I want but its got forward control pegs! I cant deal with that. Im 5'8"
Just picked them up.... yep yor right, I love em! Nice lumpy sound!
I just purchased a set for my 24 chief. I can't wait to get them on. Looks sharp o your bike!
You’re going to love them.
Kaza brown is my favorite 😊
Definitely getting me those pipes. The Dr Jekill and Mr Hyde pipes are understandably way too expensive.
I've had these pipes on my bike for awhile now, and have heard many other ones, I made the right choice. You will love them. Thanks for watching.
Made in India. How many stolen gift cards to buy that?
Very cool. Thanks for another informative video.
I have the same lights and to me they work great
Do you also have the Kuryakyn fender lights?
New subscriber. Great video. I'm heading down to a used dealer tomorrow to discuss trading in my '16 Ultra for a '17 Roadmaster.
Thanks for watching. You’ll love the Roadmaster. Hope you get a good one like I did.
Same thing happens with my Garmin. I plan a route on the map on the computer so it's just exactly perfect, then the GPS feels a need to recalculate the route, so now it's different from what I planned but there's not really a way to know *how* it's going to be different until I start riding. Ugh. Thanks for posting this because it's good to know it's more of a universal problem.
Click on Scenic, add many extra way points and it will wok. Also review the route after you upload to your bike.
Nice gloves
I assume you are riding with no gloves to manipulate the touch screen
You can have gloves on while using the touch screen. Working the GoPro is another thing.
@@rickiekm I figured... thanks nice bike !
Has the roadmaster ever left you stranded needing a tow?
No it has not. Although a friend of mine did have a clutch cable break, and that could certainly be a major issue.
@@rickiekm coming from kawasaki and ducati. Was concerned about indian and hd reliability considering one or other. Sounds like much less issues with Indian. I would be scared to try to go multi state on even a new road glide
time for a Pursuit!!! I don't like big group rides, for the reason you mentioned.
A Pursuit sounds good to me too.
We did have a rider safety meeting before you showed up. It was mentioned that breaking the law was discouraged, and stopping at the stop sign was following directions. That part was more the leaders fault for not waiting for the car, although it would have taken an extra minute or two. It didn't arrive at the sign until half the group had passed. It worked out well, the car was filtered out at the next turn. Next time I'll wait!
Thanks for the video.... Is it always cold up there
Not always, but the water is pretty much cold most of the summer.
Awesome job guys thanks for sharing 👏🏽
95°?, I don’t even look out the window when it’s above 90 let alone go out on a motorcycle for any length of time. I don’t remember how many years ago the last time it hit 95° here in Western Pennsylvania. It did hit 100° twice in my lifetime that I can remember, 1988… do you get much glare off of the chrome on top of the gas tank? I was getting a lot of glare from a couple of my motorcycles, especially the gas cap, I would see a reflection of the gas, cap or the chrome around the gas cap on windshield and it was distracting.. how long have you had that belt drive to the rear wheel on this machine? Is that the original belt at 50,000 miles? do the valves have self adjusting or do you have to have the valves adjusted manually. I looked at a Kawasaki Vulcan voyager with soft adjusting valves. That engine sounded like castanets. I didn’t buy the bike just for that reason… The biggest issue I would have, what is the heat coming off of the engine like? I test Road and FJR 1300, it was an oven.. I did not buy that machine because it was burning. My shins Rumaih Kevlar pants on that 85° day. I took that bike for a half hour test ride. I also had a Honda 700 saber they put out so much heat. I could feel the heat through my aerostich suit shins on a50° day.. are there any periodic adjustments needed for things like primary chain if it has a primary chain? Does this machine have one throttlebody or two separate throttle bodies? One of these machines just came up for sale today on craigslist here in western Pennsylvania. I am a motorcycle j junkie, I’m riding a Yamaha royal star venture right now, my third, Venture since 1986. I keep going back to Venture‘s. I tried a GL 1800 Goldwing, went back to a venture then I try to BMW K 1200 LT, I went back to a venture.. never had a Harley, I just don’t like the anything they make, I wish they made something I liked.. I do like the moto guzzi’s.. had of em so far, But they all seem to be made for people that are 5’8” tall or less. I am 5’11”, and they are just a little snug in the leg room department… I think the best looking cruiser bikes out there right now, or the Indians. I never even sat on one, but I was offered a job when I was in the Indian shop a few weeks ago. I used to work as a mechanic, and as a salesman for over 20 years part time in several different Japanese shops around Pittsburgh back in the late 70s through the 90s. i’m done working, let someone else pull the wagon for a change.. Right now I’m looking for my 110th motorcycle. May be an Indian.
What a cool looking place in the weather looked gorgeous. It may be a time for an old gas station run soon.
Thanks for the video and ride 👍
Sounds great ... would love to hear a drive-off video if possible.
They do sound pretty sweet. I’ll try to remember to capture a clip during a fly by.
Hey Rickie, now that's how a Mustang or a Mach1 is supposed to sound!!! A good friend of mine had one of those back in the day... yours looks immaculate, great pick up there. If you want to tone it down just turn up your music hahahahaha. Seriously though... great machine, I'd leave it just like that... well maybe change out those wheels for something in black I have never liked machined finished wheels for whatever reason. I'm getting side tracked lol
My wife wants some new wheels too. Thanks for watching.
Oi, them mirrors supposed to be upside down. But after I rode mines home today I flipped them upwards like the one you’re riding in this video 😂
You definitely can see better with them in an up position.
Sounds great to me.
Sweet hot rod! They have exhaust systems that allow you to switch between the straight pipe exhaust and mufflered exhaust. Sounds cool but for a relaxing cruise I could see how that could be loud.
I have to agree.
👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥👥❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
Firstly colour is bland. Exhaust is sweet.
20 year old car, didn’t have much choice in color.
I like it!
Sounds great, but if there were a way to deepen it more, it would sound even better
I think you’re right.
Sound good but i agree it need something. . I thank Resonators would make it deeper i thank . If had Muffler shop that would let try couple different before they Permanently mounted them
That’s a great idea.
i just picked up a scout rogue and they announced this model, that indian dealer is the best dealer in general ive ever worked with.
One badass bike. I still do prefer the Chief Bobber, but the new Scouts look damn good.
I have to agree.
What is it with the woeful suspension and seating comfortability that indian keep producing year after year? It's like they don't listen to customer feed back.... plus the pipes are ridiculously long ..also bug outs in electronics... nice looking bike but just can't hand over the coin on this one way to many bugs to fix
It's not an Indian, it's a Polaris. Indian went out of business in 1953. It's like Polaris woke up one day and said "hey i feel like im an indian." So though a series of operational and legsl nomenclature changes, Polaris transitioned into an Indian. It's a transsexual motorcycle. Harley really doesn't like him. Harley is just regular homosexual. He feels like Polaris is trying to one up him with all the girly flamboyance
?
@@rickiekm ?????? What? You're not riding an Indian, junior. You're riding a Polaris. Period. Get over yourself. 🖕
Show us on the doll where Polaris touched you. It's going to be okay, I promise.
@@DeltaElite121 I don't ride a transsexual motorcycle. You do. You show me where you were touched.
@@DeltaElite121 you're the one with the transsexual motorcycle, not me. Where were you touched?
Not sure if it's the camera angle but why are you always riding over the worst parts of the road? Nice to see another review though. 👍
Michigan roads have improved a lot over the past couple of years, but for some reason they haven’t got around to the roads in the Mt. Clemens area. It was hard to find good pavement to ride on.
Great video, Rickie
Thanks for watching
Nice review!
Lived in Michigan my entire life. Trust me they’re much better roads than that and these roads are in the countryside beautiful beautiful scenery, but they’re not easily known I put this. They’re hard to find even myself. I have a hard time finding them because it does the rolling hills and turning and twisting, and there’s really no names for these roads there up north somewhere north of country road north of Thompsonville
