Hi Todd, I’m a 800 user and was torn between buying the Manticore or the 900. After watching this video, I’ve made my mine up to go for the 900 no tricks no mirrors video Thank you
The iron bias on the Newer Nox machines (700/900) is def not the same as it was on the 600/800 models. The newer Nox machines combine the F2/FE iron biases from the older machines and just call it FE now. So FE4 on the old 800 is quite a bit different than FE4 on the 900. Did you try running this test on the 800 with IB of F2-0 ? On the new Manticore, iron bias is now called Ferrous Limits (upper/lower)….The upper ferrous limit expands upon the older F2 iron bias (nails) of the Nox 600/800 and the lower ferrous limit expands on the older FE iron bias (flat iron and bottle caps), with 3 additional features: 1. You can completely turn off ferrous limits (iron bias) on the Manticore…..couldn’t do that with any Nox machine (even FE-0 or F2-0 is not “off” on a Nox 800; it’s just the lowest iron bias setting on the machine). Not sure most manticore owners would do this, but the capability exists. 2. You can have both the upper and lower ferrous limits simultaneously active….On the older Nox machines, it was not possible to have F2 and FE active simultaneously. 3. A user can customize ferrous limits, tailoring both the upper and lower limits to his liking. This allows for additional masking of particular pieces of iron (square nail) or a problematic crown cap. It could also allow a user to accept a region within the ferrous limits boundary of the screen to pick up iron core currency while still rejecting a lot of iron. This feature is “independent” of notching(discrimination) and the accept/reject of VDI’s.
This might explain why I see alot of detectionist running zero iron bias and sensitive high on the Nox 800 to avoid what it seems to be doing. Great and informative video, thank you!
alright toddy ,in the process of selling the d2 as its a shambles, got my mind on the 900, have you had much field time since this video, have you enjoyed
Thanks Todd. Very interesting. My silver coins finds plummeted when I started using the nox 600. Found loads of silver coins when i had my T2. I was wondering if something was amiss. Keen now to get the 700 or 900.
Same problem here. It seems when you have a rusty iron nail that’s deep. It comes up between 95 and 98. Super annoying. I can only imagine how much silver I have missed because I just not out 95 through 99 now. I don’t know if it’s the machine or the coil.
You could hold the noise cancel on the manticore and it will run all the best ground balance setting till it gets to the best setting for the ground you detect don't let up though till it stays at best setting might be minus number or plus if you set your detector and you could set your iron limiter to minus 5 or + 10 or whatever it will let you know.
Xp revolutionised the speed at which a detector could react from target to target with the goldmaxx and let us not forget that. I have used the Deus /s and that still holds true. In regards to how many frequencies they use I honestly could not give can hoot as long as I find what I'm.looking for.
@Mark Kus Mark NY detecting had to research this early machines I dint I used them ALL and have heard all the same arguments over frequencies for many years. What I'm saying is minelab and XP would not put single frequencies in for a no reason. They dud because in conditions a single frequency will out detect a multi. So please don't rate my video off on a route it wasn't intended to go to suit your own agenda
Great video. Just got my Nox 900. I'll be glad when more videos come out on it. Thanks mate.
Great video Todd, lve just bought a 900, some more videos on this machine please buddy. Happy Christmas to you and yours.

Did the same
Good test as I've done tests on the 900 blown me away how good it is I've just subscribed to your channel well done
Thank you Adrian

You don't mention that the 900 constantly falses on iron around 45 to 55 no matter how much you turn up the iron bias. . Mine is up for sale
Same but mine at 95-97
Did you find a solution? I have the same issue even with iron bias at 9
No solution yet. I’ll never buy this brand again
This might explain why I see alot of detectionist running zero iron bias and sensitive high on the Nox 800 to avoid what it seems to be doing. Great and informative video, thank you!
Still same result
alright toddy ,in the process of selling the d2 as its a shambles, got my mind on the 900, have you had much field time since this video, have you enjoyed
Amazing how does the Deus 2 cope with your test ?
Yea be good to see. My Aka Sorax pro would pass this one as would my Guass MD
Thanks for the update. On the 900 you had it on tone setting DP. If you don't mind what is that? Thanks in advance,,,
Hi its a DP ...Vco pitch mode
Thanks Todd. Very interesting.

Your welcome iain
The 900 has a big falsing issue even with bias set to 9. Hopefully they will fix it
Explain ?
I’m having this problem. It’s bloody annoying

Any fixes? Bought mine brand new have updated to latest firmware and falsing with bias set at 9
Thanks for sharing this, great info
Hi. Very interesting presentation.
Do you have any idea how deep 5 kg of iron can be found with EQUINOX 900 ?
Thanks.
No idea sorry
@@TODDYS-MDS Thank you for reply
Great video mate cheers 👌
That means when you get the slightest little sound. Its none ferrous next to iron.
Great teaching video Toddy
Thanks jim

Thanks but this post is not about the Manticore.
Bit harsh lol
After I downloaded Version 3 firmware to my 800 I set the new F2 setting to 7 and quit finding small iron and iron soft drink caps.
Too be honest it's a bit of fun and it needs use in the real world.
@Todd are there more vids. to come about the 900?.gr. m
When I get more in.
Great video . thank you 👍
Your welcome
Great video big difference with the 900 unmasking I’ve seen test on the Deus 2 it uses only 2 frequencies at a time I believe minelab uses more
Xp revolutionised the speed at which a detector could react from target to target with the goldmaxx and let us not forget that. I have used the Deus /s and that still holds true.
In regards to how many frequencies they use I honestly could not give can hoot as long as I find what I'm.looking for.
@@TODDYS-MDS it’s 2 according to NY Detecting they’ve done tests using an oscilloscope
@Mark Kus Hi I honestly don't care if a detector uses 1 or a 1000 frequencies all I care about is if it can get me the targets I want on a given site
@@TODDYS-MDS well that’s good just telling you what it’s running for frequencies
@Mark Kus Mark NY detecting had to research this early machines I dint I used them ALL and have heard all the same arguments over frequencies for many years.

3D test show that new minelab's still got's problem's with iron masking.
I never go with anyone's opinion except my own.
I stick with my Sov GT and the 9" coinsearch DD..🤫
I used the xs2a, elite and GT. All excellent detectors.
best test
Thank you
800 will see nail+ring not in park 1 but in park 2
And coke ?
Take the COIL off nextime
