Did you get to witness Troy Aikman play?
Yup.
yes. He was a great player.
Sure did. A lot of people pan him now saying that he didn`t have the stats to be in the HOF but he was in a system that was actually a run first team that was very balanced between passing and rushing so he doesn`t have gaudy passing numbers. I have been a Cowboys fan since 1969, and I have to put Aikman at number two all time Cowboys QB behind Staubach.
Fck yeah I did. My kids didn’t.
@@OffTheGridFootball yep!
Incredibly accurate and steady given that he still played when you could hit a QB like a train and have it be legal.
Aikman was one of the best QBs of all time.
No he wasn't
Best quarterback I've ever seen he was great loved to watch him play
Best quarterback of his era. Bar none
“Not very good” quarterbacks make the College Hall of Fame, win 3 Superbowl’s, Superbowl MVP, and make the NFL Hall of Fame. I would say that makes him one of the elite quarterbacks. Give the man his due. By the way, I am an old school arch rival Washington fan.
😱
Just look at his career stats that team carried big time he’s was above average at best
Yeah he only had one of the best RB of all time, an elite WR and arguably the best O Line of all time, and even when you compare his numbers to other QBS during his era he is average.
Another nickname he had was "The General". He was seen yelling at Switzer for not doing his job.
I recall some pretty accurate quarterbacks over the years, but Troy is the only one that stands out as ridiculously accurate. His timing with Michael Irvin on various routes was truly a thing of beauty. The guy threw ropes.
his playoff run from 92-92 (yes including his stats) were the best ever. 11 games. better than brady, montana, anyone.
Aikamn was super underrated cause he did not throw the ball 60 times a game . But just look how the cowboys struggled to find a QB after he retired , until they came up with Romo in 2003
Troy honestly could have had better stats in the regular season had he played in a more pass heavy offense (imagine him playing in a west coast offense with SF or Denver in that era), but the fact that he played his best games in the postseason should say it all.
💯
The Cowboys offense ran through Emmit Smith , but if that wasn't working Aikman would take over . He delivered wins and was clutch against great teams . They didn't need him to throw 300 yards every game but when they did need that he would be on the money .
💯
It's been in interviews that he was asked what was his goals to in Dallas and that was to win championships which he did no mvps no passing records no single stats did he care about he wanted superbowls and he accomplished that in my book he was their answers along with those other greats on those teams as well.
💯
What a legend 💯
💯
Staubach was Captain America, if i recall
💯
You recall correctly sir. 😎
One of the best underrated
😱
I don't remember him being called any of those nicknames. There is only 1 Captain America and that's Roger Staubach #12. No offense to Aikman or fans. He was very good. He was a 20 TD 10 INT QB and was quite possibly the most accurate QB. He didn't make many mistakes and that's what kills teams. Mistakes. We could use one of these kind of guys now.
Troy Aikman was a phenomenal, signal-caller quarterback who spent his entire career with the Cowboys. He was the MVP for all of his three Super Bowl victories. He played under Barry Switzer, who he didn’t have a great relationship with during his time with him. He loved playing with Emmitt Smith and Michael Irvin, who became the triplets of the team.
💯
It’s a team sport. He had one of the greatest teams ever.
👍
Don’t compare his numbers to today. It was a different style of football. He was one of the top QB’s of his era.
Troy was great from 1992 - 1995, especially in the playoffs, but he was *never* referred to as Captain America. That was Roger, was also nicknamed Captain Comeback. Lot of mistakes in this video. The 49ers had the best record in NFC in '92 as they went 14-2 in the weak NFC West, while Dallas was having to play in the NFC Beast.
💯
How good was he? He was f**king great. That's how good he was!!!
Brett faverick and eightmam is your AI working alright. Lol
👀
Seriously? How about this? Good enough to have three super bowl rings in 4 years. What other QB has done that? Oh right, none.
💯
@@michealcollier4237 Actually, Brady did it too.
I thought he was an awesome qb. 💯
💯
No one thought he was average when he played. For the era he was completing unheard of percentage of passes.
💯
No he wasn't 17 to 14 ints was he's avg farve, young, Elway, Dan, Jim Kelly all put up MUCH better numbers
@@2gunzup07 I was speaking of completion percentage.
dude be makin nicknames up for journalistic bravado
That’s My QuarterBack !!!
What a Run we had.
💯
Dude you are NOT a Dallas cowboys fan.
Every fan know Captain America was NOT Troy AIKMAN.
Get a real narrator. You AI voiceover can't pronounce Aikman or Favre
😱
☝️🤠🇨🇱8🏆🏆🏆
💯
Not very good; but he was blessed to have played when Dallas had the best offensive line, wide receivers and running back
😱
😂
3 in 4
💯
Plz ban AI voice overs
It’s not AI my friend
@hotrouteYT then who narratorated this stephen Hawkins lol
I am a Cowboys fan, but let's face it, the only reason Aikman is in the Hall of Fame is because of what he did in the playoffs. He was otherwise very pedestrian.
💯
@@samuelrosenbalm So, the HOF should be for those who shined in the regular and not the playoffs when it counted most?
lol horrible QB 2400yrds 14tds 12ints 63% yearly career NFL Stats
Not very good
Bruh. Stop it
🤣
He was clutch .
In 92 - if Dallas had the best record in the NFC - why did they have to play in San Francisco for the NFC title? San Francisco was 14-2 Dallas was 13-3
