My main one is the one that's my profile picture, but I have a couple others now. For like my first 3 years in the fandom I thought you could only have one, but I was completely wrong, and I'm glad I was. Amazing video by the way! I personally love the way you explain things and your voice keeps my attention, you've quickly become one of my favorite furry TH-camrs!

Purple's my favorite color and a lot of my sonas have the purple cosmic aesthetic lately, so I'm kinda losing my mind right now 🤩😍🥰 I ended up here because I'm playing around with the idea of a new fursona. I'm probably keeping my snow leopard because I love her, but I'm playing around with the idea of a bear now. I was initially thinking giant panda, and I may still have some of that vibe, but then I remembered how much I love stars and space, so now, I'm considering something loosely based on the ursa major and/or ursa minor creatures from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic because those are literal star bears. 🐻💫🌠🌌
To me, a fursona can also come from something you love dearly. For me, I have a love of the Redwall series of books. Which is where my sona "the mouse bard" came from.
one of my main issues is after making a design is losing interest in it,,, i know you can have more than one but still it ends up just being a one off character drawing that i scrap for possibly another thing
Mine is a quagga/donkey hybrid named Frances Creampuff, I love sweets and pastries. I also gave her a blaze marking of a horse on her face. I wanted an equine species as I used to ride horses when I was a kid. Donkeys have a stereotype of being stubborn, I can be pretty stubborn.

Reflection of yourself: Using a really cool animal that you found one day, or even your favorite animal can definitely be a great idea for some people, but for me, I went with a creature that I felt reflected myself and suited my own personality. You can find this out by researching behaviors of the animal you had in mind, thinking of stereotypes (ex: dog=loyal), and then connecting your own traits to that design via physical appearance (ex: kind=rounder shapes). You can even include some of your own physical traits into them, such as a buzz cut or a birthmark. Use them often: This is pretty self-explanatory, but if you're an artist, then draw your oc often! Don't be afraid to reiterate the design, create back stories (which even now I'm still working on), and just have fun. Don't be too stressed if you can't find a fursona right away. I was, and I went through either three or four different characters before I finally connected with the one I have now. Finally, take my words with a grain of salt. What I advised is entirely based on personal experiences, and everyone has different tips and tricks on how to grow attached to a design. Have a great day!

I was bored in class and because I couldn't decide what species I wanted mine to be I went "fuck it" and created a *whole new species.* so yeah now he's an original species. the design has black fur, blueish gray skin, white face, yellow jacket, yellow eyes, and a few blue markings. the yellow jacket and white face are to draw attention and create an iconic area (specifically the jacket)
My fursona is a chubby and very shy Yoshi. I choose a Yoshi, because it fits what I want to be. Happy, supportive, big appetite and if I must.. I can fight. I got bullied in school.. so I was searching for a better me. From all games Yoshi is in there. I found it with Smash Bros. He is happy and kick your ass. Kinda strange huh? Welp.. I am kinda glad, that my Yoshi fit for myself so good. But I also have different forms. Like you see on my pfp here. This is my Liger. Fluffy with a Yoshi nose~ The personality is always the same. It's myself, but in a body I feel "whole". Does sound that strange? ^^" probably.. sometimes I really feel like a Yoshi traped in a human body. :/ Keep it up Sera~ it's awesome to see you grow an own community now~
Focus more on your likes and try to make your personality come through the character. Have them wear clothes like what you wear. I have a hard time making ones like me too, I just make ones that are goals. The chimera one is probably the closest to me.
Good video sera, I really saw all you oc and models they are so pretty and with very expensive details, I know no one can just get a pencil and made one good draw so fast without training but you Ocs are so pretty.

I designed my own. Worked on my own through my own art. Even created the original based off of Broly from the original Dragon Ball Z Broly movie. (Edit: the current look is more of a toned down and tamed version of the 2020 Broly behaviors and mannerisms. Now Darkfox is tamed and more into studying Pokemon. Still likes to spar like a fighter.)
My method: see a cool species, now I want one. Then I come up with a detailed design idea in my head, which I lack the skill or money to get art of. No new sona, repeat

Ignore the haters, I only engage with them on youtube because it gets me more views. I don't know much about fursuiting, I commissioned a youtuber called simple nick for mine. But it's definitely OK to have multiple fursuits.
I wish I could be a furry and have a fursona, but all the students in my school (and outside of school) think it's the cringiest, ugliest and most pathetic thing ever invented. I might make a fursona in secret, but it won't be the same :(
You can be a furry even if the kids think it's lame. Keep it a secret and keep enjoying furry stuff online. That's what I did. Also you can be a furry without a fursona, it's a hobby and a lot of people have secret hobbies they only engage with online.
I vivdly remember that I was uing multiple fursonas, that were just cats - bc I was in the warrior cats community at the time. I mean, I have now like 5... or so feral cat fursonas, that represent several aspects of me, but a year ago I understood how I like sheep, and made my Vtuber model around it, and here I am - a sheep angel girl. But I have a red panda fursona in the works, who is a hybrid between panda and a sheep. I just love red pandas and sheep too much. I dunno, my creativity is all over the place. (I am also in the process of refining my original species I had for 2ish years, so yeah)

Honestly, I could give you tips all day but the truth is you need to make something you like. That's it. Find a free base, color it, and add some personality traits you like. When I make characters I take my favorite parts of my personality and amplify it. For example my first fursona was a sheep, I picked sheep because my chinese zodiac was a sheep and I like them. Then I added demon and angel features from Devil May Cry, my favorite game series.

Really, the best advice is to just start. You can learn everything and there are still some thing you won't learn until you try it yourself.

Nah, fursonas let us express gender however makes us comfortable. Lots of cis men have female fursonas without ever wanting to be a woman.
