I found out about furries because every time I would wear my fox ears, my friend would call me a furry. I didn't look into it, but recently have been actually getting into the fandom.
How come when people see me wear my full digi suit and see im in a furry discord and go to furry cons and not hide the fact im a furry, they assume im a furry?
I heard about furries from my sister, I was like 6 and I loved animals and my sister said this, "If you become a furry, I'm going to disown you as my sister." and I (not knowing what a furry was and just wanting to annoy my sister) said, "I'm gonna become a furry!" … and here I am now...yea. AND THAT'S HOW I BECAME A FURRY!
Warrior cats was my bridge into the furry fandom, I started drawing a lot of furry character, and now my main Warrior oc has gradually evolved into... well, me. My fursona.

Whenever I *'decide'* on a fursona, the species, name and look, I really like it for a week or two, maybe less, but then I see other designs, other colors and species and I feel I'm not attached with the old character anymore. I hate this. I just want ONE character I can feel connected too without changing it a week later. Just nothing seems to fit and idk what to do.
I have the same kind of trouble. I haven't found a good fit yet but maybe its cause we're going through a rapid change at this time so our likes and dislikes change very quickly. I don't know what to be, really, but i feel im starting to get a better picture of what i want to be. I've played and tested characters through rp sites and what not; different color palletes, genders, and even varied the age at times. I know that it might be a fox or some kind of canine but i don't know yet. Keep looking and look back to see if you can find a pattern in your characters. What species do you gravitate toward? Warm or Cool colors? Hybrids or Purebloods? You know, that sort of thing. Good luck!

I found the furry fandom from my science teacher, it was about Halloween and he was talking about how his daughter was coming into the class the next week to do Halloween tricks and experiments with us and showed us a picture of her in a partial fursuit with her furry friends and I was like well that looks like fun and here I am now. Also... Warrior cats 😂
What brought me to the fandom? It was three things. 1: I saw Zootopia and loved Judy so much, looked up fanart, and found the term furry. 2: You, Telephone, Fjord, and Majira all introduced me to the fandom and I fell in love. Yes you, Pocari! 3: I saw a video on peopl hating on furries with a ton of likes. I became angry and felt bad for the people in the fandom. I decided I would join them and stand up for them.
Oh, I have 5 fursonas. A bunny, a canine of indeterminated species, a ferret, and a species I created, a Glass Heron. Glass Herons are basically just herons with on the top of their head and replacing the feathers on their wings is glass of any color. It's pretty nice.
I found majira and then I found someone hating on furries and I fought fur furries. His name is FAC REDACTED. Fight fur the furries! (I take a grudge very seriously)

I found out about the furry fandom When l watched a video by theodd1sout and in that video he joked about being a furry so l was like “What’s that?” So I clicked on the search icon and typed “furry”, then l found a video by Majira Strawberry and eventually l found you!

My introduction wasn't the best. I drew a werewolf in high school, a kid saw it and squealed "furry!" I looked it up and google didn't have the safe search on...don't do that. I tried to seperate myself from the fandom but I still loved the art style. Then I stumbled across Uncle Kage and 2 The Ranting Gryphon. I credit those two for my joining the fandom and I have absolutely no regrets you folk are awesome!!

OMG SAME ive gone on SEVERAL rants on people hating on furries, and even before i was in the fandom, i still had respect for them. I kinda did but he was a fnaf oc named foxykidJR and she has changed alot. When i first entered the fandom it was a complete design change and not to mention gender change because now 'he' is a girl and not a killer animatronic robot from fnaf, But they she still has the same little explorers hat with the EXACT same design i mean they are both explorers and i need to keep something the same but keeping it was unintended and when i remembered they both had hats i changed the hat to look like the old one.
I just got into furries and even though I have a duck as my username and my logo. I am definitely a cat. I have a few tips myself! 1. To find a name your could do names of relatives or look at your heritage and see if your past relitives used to speak another laungage if so you could use a word from that language! 2. To find an animal or creature for it to be you could look at creatures in books you like or a hybrid or base it off your state what's the state animal 3. Now tips for picking colors you could do colors based from your state flag or take colors you like or see around you alot or even take some of your favorite things such as foods and take colors or designs from them Hope these help some furries! ♡
When I made my new fursona, Tobias Rufus Volf the Red Wolfhawk (Guess what "Tobias" references), I actually looked through a German dictionary for the last name. Turned out "Wolf" in German is "Wolf" (I'm not joking) so I used a German accent.
I made a fur sona that I didn’t connect with, and then made a suit for it, and then hated the suit, now I’m designing one thoughtfully and going through the process of saving up to make a new one.

Shiba Sandwich depends, even though this is just how I kinda default any attachments (yes I know the word attachments on bodies even on fur suits sounds like your trying to make a deadly weapon, but that’s just the word I can pick up right now) on bodies depending on body combinations, like if 90% of your suit is grey and black and white but with a rainbow hoodie part for that 10% then it seems a bit out of place, but yet to me as long as someone can execute it, I’m fine with it as long as they don’t go hating on others at all either (except when someone else attacking you first then fight back) but for me when I see nose piercings I favor personally just one side of the nose rather then the center part that is also small, but again that’s my opinion, if you want to still wear it, go for it, no one ain’t gonna stop u, and if they are just ignore them, they will get tired of being angry, then you can softly tell them an option of peace in mind to not be a butt in the future to others (option tho, if you just wanna ignore, sure)

As of now I don't consider myself a furry, but I am interested in the fandom. The first anthropomorphic character I ever made, I based her outfit on a dream and her color and name on a toy I used to have. (I came up with the name when I was trying to name the toy because I was a kid and it just popped into my head out of nowhere)
I forgot to mention, I did make an anthropomorphic species before this, but I've had this character as a feral one since I was like 6 years old and only a couple months ago decided to make her anthro.

Before I discovered your channel I was very judge mental of this fandom because wasn’t educated enough (like a lot of people.) but one day I was feeling kinda curious and I thought to try and educate myself a bit more because I don’t really like judging people for something that I don’t really understand, so I did some research and found you and your channel! Once I learned more and more about this awesome fandom I was like, “Yes I totally relate to this.” I wouldn’t say I’m a full on furry but I do totally respect it and I absolutely love how loving and accepting this community is!!
I know this was in 2018, but what brought me to this fandom was you! My main sona is an anxious bengal named Azula who has blue inside her rosettes. Her eyes maya blye and she's a reprisentation of all my worries. I'm working on a Mini Partial for her, but i'ver only just bought the materials for the handpaws, and nothing else. (^u^')
The way i found the fandom actually my friend showed me some art of telephone and i asked "what character is that from?" Because i thought it was some sort of character from a game or something (lol) and she told me that they were a fursuiter named telephone. At first i was super confused until she showed me some adorable videos and i was instantly hooked and wanted to learn more.
I first found furries through Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials book trilogy (The Golden Compass/Northern Lights, etc). Was on a fan forum that centred around the concept of dæmons, and there were lots of furs there.
When I was in like 4th or 5th grade, we got to wear our Halloween costumes and a girl wore her furry suit, back then I didn’t know what is was but now I do, it was so sick. I think that was the first time I fell in love with the fandom.
I had a friend back in middle school who used to call me "CalicoJo" because my name was Jo and I loved cats. The friendship was great, but it didn't last (not from any drama, we just grew apart), but I still maintain the name "CalicoJo" as a screenname which I use across most platforms, and more relevantly it was why I chose a calico cat named Joseph to be my fursona.

I made a fursona named melvin Edit: Melvin is a nightmare I had as a child and I don't remember why I think of it now but I decided to make melvins kind a new species. I just need to make the first fursuit for him
The first time I heard the term furry a step teen was making jokes about a friend who liked them… I got SUPER defensive and stood up for the friend even though I had no clue. Even a supervisor and his wife were furries and I wanted to know so badly how that mindset is. Then one day my brain just shut off and a golden happy go lucky retriever took over!! I named her Goldie and decided this is my new self/journey!

so you haven't seen aeromorph fursuits (aeromorphs are anthropomorphic planes, i advise you look up just aeromorph fursuits instead of aeromorphs since the top results of the latter image search are pretty nsfw)? you can totally be a train if you wanted to, you just gotta figure out a way to anthropomorphize them
Lee_artiuM you could make a train based character, an animal with train like attributes, or perhaps even think about the animals that helped bring the railroad into the world! The two big ones that come immediately to mind are horses and mules, and how much they were used when laying track and bringing engines onto those tracks. It's not a pretty history, but that fact could also be used as further inspiration!
the main reason I got into the Furry Fandom is due in part of wholesomeness. back in 2015, i was at a con in upstate PA when I got separated from my friends. I was so loss and having a panic attack, just then a group of furries help me find them. One even held my hand and gave comforting boops on the snoot. (thank you to BerryMelon and friends)
I was obsessed with stuffed animals when I was younger and always loved (and still love) books and shows with animal characters and I would always create myself as if I were in one of those things. Recently I have been hearing a lot about furies on the internet and have been getting kind of into it.
I used to be hella jelly at schools with normal animal mascots cause they could have mascots and I loved how cool the suits were! Years later I'm on my 3rd main sona and still marveling over cool fursuits :p
I’m a furry because when I was little (3 or 4) I met some at a fur-con (I think. Not sure. In Raleigh) but they were adorable, I snatched my hand out of my mom’s hand and ran to them (while my OLDER sister hid and cried XD) but they inspired me. I kind of fell out of the fandom when I was little and I didn’t pick it back up until I was 11 (I’m 12 now. I’m using my dad’s account) and my fursona is a Dutch angel dragon (inspired by telephone) my name is Turtle and I was inspired by Majira and you and Skye. So yea...
In thirteen and when I was little I did a lot of furry cosplay ( this of course was before I knew I was a furry) at the age of 12 I learned about them and I became kinda obsessed. Even now though I can't draw I think they're amazing.
The only bad change there is, is in a relationship and u drop the guy/girl for another person. If they're a bad person I understand but if they treat you good and they really love you don't do that to them. You'll be a bad person :(
Telephone got me into the fandom. Actually... I just fell into this fandom today. Telephone was just too cute, and I’ve always liked the idea of cosplaying like this stuff. I’ve seen these videos with people in this fandom that act like me, I was always called ‘weird’ when I would do stuff like that when I was younger, and this fandom with its people seem so nice.

I'm 3 years late to this video, but I got recommended it from another channel! I've been having trouble since I wanted to have a few different ones (especially since finding fursuit makers for protogens is really hard and the only one I have is a proto maned Relo) and the tip about finding a random object in the room and basing the colors off of that instead just gave me an entire character idea! I looked up and immediately saw some cover art for a short play I wrote and thought of a cool character! Their name Luro!
I was working on a project with a friend, and I wanted to add cat ears on the person we were drawing. She then proceeded to ask if I was a furry. I asked my now ex bf what a furry was, and he said people who had sex with animals. I decided to do my research, and that's how you, YES YOU POCARI brought me into the fandom. Thank you.
Haha these bottle episodes are becoming weirdly convenient for me. Last time with the plushy maker episode I was actually looking into that stuff a couple of days before the video came out. And I was just designing my rabbit sona's markings/ref sheet earlier today. XD It took me at least 8 months to design my first stable fursona [Cove the mink], from the moment she popped into my head to the moment I made a ref sheet. I have went through several fursonas before, my first one being a neon sparkle-wolf. Literally though, I just bought a pack of neon colored pencils and went NUTS. But I'm glad I settled with Cove, although I feel her current design won't be the final version.

Oh gosh, i got into the fandom about 3 years ago via Warrior Cats, and my first "fursona" was a white and gray tabby cat named JayWing, i modeled her after Ivypool because she was my favorite, and named her after Jayfeather. Then i made a hybrid of a crap ton of animals named Iggy, then i had another catsona named Bramblefeather, now, i have 3 main sonas, a short angsty Corman Shepherd named Ice, a Lion mad out of the carbonated amazingness that is Big Red, and a Budgie Cat hybrid named Lynx. Your videos have been a big inspiration to me ever since you started making TH-cam videos, and the main reason I got back into the fandom after my anime phase, I couldn't thank you enough.
I don't care if I'm late, I'm still going to share my story of how I've gotten to my current Fursona, Sahara, because I can. Okay let's see... If we go back to the time I began drawing properly, so about late 2016, we can meet my first ever persona/fursona. She was named Jessie, an eevee. I guess technically she was a Pokésona, but I count her as a Fursona, as I drew her anthro (I say drew but at the time I only ever used bases) I was scared to admit that I technically stole bases so I didn't say anything about them. Instead, I continued. Over time I changed her to Flareon, back to Eevee, and then to Sylveon. HOWEVER, fast forward to early 2017. Star the alicorn (I was heavily invested in the mlp fandom at the time) joined the club. So I had Jessie the Sylveon and Star the alicorn. I was still using bases at the time, and I still wasn't crediting (oh boi I was a thief) but I was beginning to start drawing myself, but I wasn't proud of it. So I never posted any of my art. Speed to mid 2017 and Pulse the Jolteon arrived. An overpowered Mary Sue,and my second Pokésona (who I drew as a furry/anthro) so yeah. Not much happened with her, but I have made her a little less OP. In fact, she should currently be my profile picture (unless I change it) Fast forward to late 2017, and meet my first ever fursona, Carrie. I am NOT proud of her. She was a Mary Sue, and it was at the time where I was a smol Asriel fangirl. I got rid of her very quickly, and that's all you need to know. And then, finally, meet my first, long lasting Fursona, that I still have today, (but she's just a character I use now. She doesn't represent me anymore) Silver. (she was called Jessica at the time.) She was an edgy wolf girl, with grey fur, brown hair and brown eyes. She was pretty lame really. After Silver came Neko, TV and Player. I currently have only kept Neko and Player. And then, the third Fursona I had was Sheila. Another wolf, grey fur, but purple hair and eyes this time. She was a Sans fangirl (as was I) and yeah. I got rid of her recently. And now, as of yesterday (26-7-19), my Fursona is Sahara. She's a Sand Cat, (a species of cat that lives in deserts from my knowledge) with a dusty yellow colour scheme. Her eyes are a yellow brown, and I love her. She's just my smol child and she'll be staying a long time. So there you go. Story of my many personas over time. Currently I have only kept Neko, Player and Sahara. Sahara being main Fursona. I'm 13, turning 14 this year, and a proud young furry.
I'm 9, turning 10 in 5 months(as of writing this reply), and my OC is a deer and macaw hybrid(basically a deer that has macaw wings and a macaw beak and is macaw colored)
Lioden is how I joined the fandom! My first fursona was a lioness who I got the design from a contest I held on the game! Then she transferred to a design that was a "real sona" more based on how I looked like. Then she officially changed to a saber-toothed cat and that's where we're at now! I still use my original fursona design as a character in a series I wrote!

I made three separate ones to represent different aspects of myself. They all have positive and negitive character traits and have honestly helped me sort out who I am in this moment. I see myself as a fusion of all of them with different aspects of each being highlighted at different times!
Funny thing my fursona started as a warrior cats oc and then became my fursona and haha i only have seven chracters and two are fursonas but my main fursona was the warrior cat oc
Pretty much what I did for my two main Fursonas here of some examples how I got mine! Sapphire is my primary fursona and a Rain-Wing Why did I choose this species? I really love dragons they are my obsession and favorite animal Inspiration? I chose books personality and story adapted my personality from a Stephen King book called the Dark Tower. I also took inspiration from WOF I don't like the books but always thought the dragons where cool Colors? I chose a large blue and some purple as they are my favorite colors. Body style/accessories? I really like bust so I rendered her to have that and a more feminine shape. Her accessories include revolvers and straight edge swords. Mainly because my book chacter has them and swords/revolvers are sweet. Just how I got mine just base your fursona off what you like!
What had me hooked in the first place was fnaf and lps(littlest pet shop toys) I inserted myself as a character but in a different world. Browsing through deviantart. Lps just allowed me to act out all the stories and not to mention watching stories on youtube. Its been a long time since then, whats gotten me interested in the general furry fandom is beastars. For you people you say how they can't make fursuits, I'll let you know something. I made a Fursuit head out of nothing but cheap $10 foam and STAPLES. I got felt for fur, and I was done. It literally cost me like $20 bucks.

My parents don't like furries no matter how much I tried to explain. They don't know that I am a furry so Making a suit would be suspicious and then I'd be homeless after I finish high school
UsoppFanGirl Dude. Telling people to make Fursuits like that is bad. Using staples for it is very bad, and there is a high chance the fursuit head would fall apart. Doing it the right, patient way takes longer,but is more worth it. ovo
I used to think I was part wolf, and I would get called a furry a lot, and then I grew out of that, (I was 10 at the time) and I decided to research about furries. And so there wasn’t like one person or anything, it was just a few years of bits and pieces being deciphered through memes or jokes, (around age 12) and then i discovered fan fiction (13), and fast forward to a couple weeks ago when I discovered abo or omegaverse fics, and that reminded me of when I was little and I thought I was a wolf, which made me research furries again, and so here we are.
Took me about 10 years to come up with my fursona, and it happened from a random sketch I did. Something about the playfulness resonated with me. Otherwise I tried making a fursona 10-ish years ago but it just wouldn't connect with me. It is a matter of time until your fursona "finds you", so don't lose hope!

Whenever I *'decide'* on a fursona, the species, name and look, I really like it for a week or two, maybe less, but then I see other designs, other colors and species and I feel I'm not attached with the old character anymore. I hate this. I just want ONE character I can feel connected too without changing it a week later.
Just nothing seems to fit and idk what to do.
I have the same kind of trouble. I haven't found a good fit yet but maybe its cause we're going through a rapid change at this time so our likes and dislikes change very quickly. I don't know what to be, really, but i feel im starting to get a better picture of what i want to be. I've played and tested characters through rp sites and what not; different color palletes, genders, and even varied the age at times. I know that it might be a fox or some kind of canine but i don't know yet. Keep looking and look back to see if you can find a pattern in your characters. What species do you gravitate toward? Warm or Cool colors? Hybrids or Purebloods? You know, that sort of thing. Good luck!

I found the furry fandom from my science teacher, it was about Halloween and he was talking about how his daughter was coming into the class the next week to do Halloween tricks and experiments with us and showed us a picture of her in a partial fursuit with her furry friends and I was like well that looks like fun and here I am now. What brought me to the fandom? It was three things.
1: I saw Zootopia and loved Judy so much, looked up fanart, and found the term furry.

3: I saw a video on peopl hating on furries with a ton of likes. I became angry and felt bad for the people in the fandom. I decided I would join them and stand up for them.
Oh, I have 5 fursonas. A bunny, a canine of indeterminated species, a ferret, and a species I created, a Glass Heron. Glass Herons are basically just herons with on the top of their head and replacing the feathers on their wings is glass of any color. It's pretty nice.

I have a few tips myself!
1. To find a name your could do names of relatives or look at your heritage and see if your past relitives used to speak another laungage if so you could use a word from that language!
2. To find an animal or creature for it to be you could look at creatures in books you like or a hybrid or base it off your state what's the state animal
3. Now tips for picking colors you could do colors based from your state flag or take colors you like or see around you alot or even take some of your favorite things such as foods and take colors or designs from them

Shiba Sandwich, I honestly this they look cool af but thats a personal preference XD... many people think they’re kinda strange. But hey! If you want a nose ring on your fursuit then you get a nose ring on your fursuit!
Shiba Sandwich depends, even though this is just how I kinda default any attachments (yes I know the word attachments on bodies even on fur suits sounds like your trying to make a deadly weapon, but that’s just the word I can pick up right now) on bodies depending on body combinations, like if 90% of your suit is grey and black and white but with a rainbow hoodie part for that 10% then it seems a bit out of place, but yet to me as long as someone can execute it, I’m fine with it as long as they don’t go hating on others at all either (except when someone else attacking you first then fight back) but for me when I see nose piercings I favor personally just one side of the nose rather then the center part that is also small, but again that’s my opinion, if you want to still wear it, go for it, no one ain’t gonna stop u, and if they are just ignore them, they will get tired of being angry, then you can softly tell them an option of peace in mind to not be a butt in the future to others (option tho, if you just wanna ignore, sure)

As of now I don't consider myself a furry, but I am interested in the fandom. The first anthropomorphic character I ever made, I based her outfit on a dream and her color and name on a toy I used to have. (I came up with the name when I was trying to name the toy because I was a kid and it just popped into my head out of nowhere)
I forgot to mention, I did make an anthropomorphic species before this, but I've had this character as a feral one since I was like 6 years old and only a couple months ago decided to make her anthro.

My main sona is an anxious bengal named Azula who has blue inside her rosettes. Her eyes maya blye and she's a reprisentation of all my worries.

The way i found the fandom actually my friend showed me some art of telephone and i asked "what character is that from?" Because i thought it was some sort of character from a game or something (lol) and she told me that they were a fursuiter named telephone. At first i was super confused until she showed me some adorable videos and i was instantly hooked and wanted to learn more.
I first found furries through Philip Pullman's His Dark Materials book trilogy (The Golden Compass/Northern Lights, etc). Was on a fan forum that centred around the concept of dæmons, and there were lots of furs there.
When I was in like 4th or 5th grade, we got to wear our Halloween costumes and a girl wore her furry suit, back then I didn’t know what is was but now I do, it was so sick. I think that was the first time I fell in love with the fandom.
I had a friend back in middle school who used to call me "CalicoJo" because my name was Jo and I loved cats. The friendship was great, but it didn't last (not from any drama, we just grew apart), but I still maintain the name "CalicoJo" as a screenname which I use across most platforms, and more relevantly it was why I chose a calico cat named Joseph to be my fursona.

The first time I heard the term furry a step teen was making jokes about a friend who liked them… I got SUPER defensive and stood up for the friend even though I had no clue. Even a supervisor and his wife were furries and I wanted to know so badly how that mindset is.
Then one day my brain just shut off and a golden happy go lucky retriever took over!! I named her Goldie and decided this is my new self/journey!

so you haven't seen aeromorph fursuits (aeromorphs are anthropomorphic planes, i advise you look up just aeromorph fursuits instead of aeromorphs since the top results of the latter image search are pretty nsfw)? you can totally be a train if you wanted to, you just gotta figure out a way to anthropomorphize them
Lee_artiuM you could make a train based character, an animal with train like attributes, or perhaps even think about the animals that helped bring the railroad into the world! The two big ones that come immediately to mind are horses and mules, and how much they were used when laying track and bringing engines onto those tracks. It's not a pretty history, but that fact could also be used as further inspiration!

the main reason I got into the Furry Fandom is due in part of wholesomeness. back in 2015, i was at a con in upstate PA when I got separated from my friends. I was so loss and having a panic attack, just then a group of furries help me find them. One even held my hand and gave comforting boops on the snoot. (thank you to BerryMelon and friends)
I was obsessed with stuffed animals when I was younger and always loved (and still love) books and shows with animal characters and I would always create myself as if I were in one of those things. Recently I have been hearing a lot about furies on the internet and have been getting kind of into it.
I used to be hella jelly at schools with normal animal mascots cause they could have mascots and I loved how cool the suits were! Years later I'm on my 3rd main sona and still marveling over cool fursuits :p

Telephone got me into the fandom. Actually... I just fell into this fandom today. Telephone was just too cute, and I’ve always liked the idea of cosplaying like this stuff. I’ve seen these videos with people in this fandom that act like me, I was always called ‘weird’ when I would do stuff like that when I was younger, and this fandom with its people seem so nice.

How I got in furrys was by finding your video of you unboxing your character for the first time.
I'm 3 years late to this video, but I got recommended it from another channel! I've been having trouble since I wanted to have a few different ones (especially since finding fursuit makers for protogens is really hard and the only one I have is a proto maned Relo) and the tip about finding a random object in the room and basing the colors off of that instead just gave me an entire character idea! I looked up and immediately saw some cover art for a short play I wrote and thought of a cool character! Their name Luro!
I was working on a project with a friend, and I wanted to add cat ears on the person we were drawing. She then proceeded to ask if I was a furry. I asked my now ex bf what a furry was, and he said people who had sex with animals. I decided to do my research, and that's how you, YES YOU POCARI brought me into the fandom. Thank you.
Haha these bottle episodes are becoming weirdly convenient for me. Last time with the plushy maker episode I was actually looking into that stuff a couple of days before the video came out. And I was just designing my rabbit sona's markings/ref sheet earlier today. XD
It took me at least 8 months to design my first stable fursona [Cove the mink], from the moment she popped into my head to the moment I made a ref sheet. I have went through several fursonas before, my first one being a neon sparkle-wolf. Literally though, I just bought a pack of neon colored pencils and went NUTS. But I'm glad I settled with Cove, although I feel her current design won't be the final version.
The first time i heard of furrys was maybe 4th or 5th grade from TheOdd1sOut, and i thought they were weird... Then in 6th grade i met 2 furries and they are amazing people, and 1 of them, (my best friend now, ily joey) told me to make a fursona so i was like "dang okay" and here we are years later making fursuits and being furries, so yeah..

Oh gosh, i got into the fandom about 3 years ago via Warrior Cats, and my first "fursona" was a white and gray tabby cat named JayWing, i modeled her after Ivypool because she was my favorite, and named her after Jayfeather. Then i made a hybrid of a crap ton of animals named Iggy, then i had another catsona named Bramblefeather, now, i have 3 main sonas, a short angsty Corman Shepherd named Ice, a Lion mad out of the carbonated amazingness that is Big Red, and a Budgie Cat hybrid named Lynx. Your videos have been a big inspiration to me ever since you started making TH-cam videos, and the main reason I got back into the fandom after my anime phase, I couldn't thank you enough.

I don't care if I'm late, I'm still going to share my story of how I've gotten to my current Fursona, Sahara, because I can.
Okay let's see...
If we go back to the time I began drawing properly, so about late 2016, we can meet my first ever persona/fursona.
She was named Jessie, an eevee. I guess technically she was a Pokésona, but I count her as a Fursona, as I drew her anthro (I say drew but at the time I only ever used bases)
I was scared to admit that I technically stole bases so I didn't say anything about them. Instead, I continued.
Over time I changed her to Flareon, back to Eevee, and then to Sylveon. HOWEVER, fast forward to early 2017. Star the alicorn (I was heavily invested in the mlp fandom at the time) joined the club. So I had Jessie the Sylveon and Star the alicorn.
I was still using bases at the time, and I still wasn't crediting (oh boi I was a thief) but I was beginning to start drawing myself, but I wasn't proud of it. So I never posted any of my art.
Speed to mid 2017 and Pulse the Jolteon arrived. An overpowered Mary Sue,and my second Pokésona (who I drew as a furry/anthro) so yeah. Not much happened with her, but I have made her a little less OP. In fact, she should currently be my profile picture (unless I change it)
Fast forward to late 2017, and meet my first ever fursona, Carrie. I am NOT proud of her. She was a Mary Sue, and it was at the time where I was a smol Asriel fangirl. I got rid of her very quickly, and that's all you need to know.
And then, finally, meet my first, long lasting Fursona, that I still have today, (but she's just a character I use now. She doesn't represent me anymore) Silver. (she was called Jessica at the time.) She was an edgy wolf girl, with grey fur, brown hair and brown eyes. She was pretty lame really.
After Silver came Neko, TV and Player. I currently have only kept Neko and Player.
And then, the third Fursona I had was Sheila. Another wolf, grey fur, but purple hair and eyes this time. She was a Sans fangirl (as was I) and yeah. I got rid of her recently.
And now, as of yesterday (26-7-19), my Fursona is Sahara. She's a Sand Cat, (a species of cat that lives in deserts from my knowledge) with a dusty yellow colour scheme. Her eyes are a yellow brown, and I love her. She's just my smol child and she'll be staying a long time.
So there you go. Story of my many personas over time.
Currently I have only kept Neko, Player and Sahara. Sahara being main Fursona.
I'm 13, turning 14 this year, and a proud young furry.
I'm 9, turning 10 in 5 months(as of writing this reply), and my OC is a deer and macaw hybrid(basically a deer that has macaw wings and a macaw beak and is macaw colored)

Lioden is how I joined the fandom! My first fursona was a lioness who I got the design from a contest I held on the game! Then she transferred to a design that was a "real sona" more based on how I looked like. Then she officially changed to a saber-toothed cat and that's where we're at now! I still use my original fursona design as a character in a series I wrote!
this actually really helped me think of a base to start for my fursona!,

It's funny how you say something about a shirt because i am drawing a "Dutch Angel Dragon" on a shirt 😂😂 and you got me deeper into the fandom and my friend told me about fursuits and she said that she wanted a angel dragon and now I do to.P.S. hoping to get enough money for it!!!!!

I made three separate ones to represent different aspects of myself. They all have positive and negitive character traits and have honestly helped me sort out who I am in this moment. I see myself as a fusion of all of them with different aspects of each being highlighted at different times!
Funny thing my fursona started as a warrior cats oc and then became my fursona and haha i only have seven chracters and two are fursonas but my main fursona was the warrior cat oc

My fursona started as a Black Butler OC believe it or not. She was a neko who (Becuase of my unhealthy obsession with William) is his wife lol
Pretty much what I did for my two main Fursonas here of some examples how I got mine!
Sapphire is my primary fursona and a Rain-Wing
Why did I choose this species? I really love dragons they are my obsession and favorite animal
Inspiration? I chose books personality and story adapted my personality from a Stephen King book called the Dark Tower.
I also took inspiration from WOF I don't like the books but always thought the dragons where cool
Colors? I chose a large blue and some purple as they are my favorite colors.
Body style/accessories? I really like bust so I rendered her to have that and a more feminine shape. Her accessories include revolvers and straight edge swords. Mainly because my book chacter has them and swords/revolvers are sweet.
Just how I got mine just base your fursona off what you like!

What had me hooked in the first place was fnaf and lps(littlest pet shop toys) I inserted myself as a character but in a different world. Browsing through deviantart.
Lps just allowed me to act out all the stories and not to mention watching stories on youtube. Its been a long time since then, whats gotten me interested in the general furry fandom is beastars.

The thing that introduced me to furries was that vine on the windy mountain where that guy goes “are those furries?!”....
I joined the Furry fandom because I was a really big fan of HoneyBeest! You were the first real fursuit/Furry channel I ever watched though!! Love your videos!!
For you people you say how they can't make fursuits, I'll let you know something.
I made a Fursuit head out of nothing but cheap $10 foam and STAPLES. I got felt for fur, and I was done.
It literally cost me like $20 bucks.
UsoppFanGirl I’d love to try to make a fursuit head but my whole family thinks furries and fursuits are crazy so I wouldn’t be able to buy anything to make one.
My parents don't like furries no matter how much I tried to explain. They don't know that I am a furry so Making a suit would be suspicious and then I'd be homeless after I finish high school

UsoppFanGirl Dude. Telling people to make Fursuits like that is bad. Using staples for it is very bad, and there is a high chance the fursuit head would fall apart. Doing it the right, patient way takes longer,but is more worth it. ovo

I used to think I was part wolf, and I would get called a furry a lot, and then I grew out of that, (I was 10 at the time) and I decided to research about furries. And so there wasn’t like one person or anything, it was just a few years of bits and pieces being deciphered through memes or jokes, (around age 12) and then i discovered fan fiction (13), and fast forward to a couple weeks ago when I discovered abo or omegaverse fics, and that reminded me of when I was little and I thought I was a wolf, which made me research furries again, and so here we are.
Took me about 10 years to come up with my fursona, and it happened from a random sketch I did. Something about the playfulness resonated with me.
Otherwise I tried making a fursona 10-ish years ago but it just wouldn't connect with me. It is a matter of time until your fursona "finds you", so don't lose hope!
