Fun fact for those that don't know, Chungha was in a waacking crew before she debuted so she's TRAINED in this. As for the men, the majority of them belong to an actual house, called the House of Love and House of Seas, and the main choreographer who is known as the "mother of Vogue" in SK is also a part of a house. I def agree about the other dancers they don't specialize in vogue nor waacking so they didn't bring that energy. Hopefully though Chungha will gain more creative control with her performances and can choose the dancers she wants again to give us more of this!
Kenya what do you mean by house do you mean like a dance crew like 1 million?
@@JemsaiToam A "house" is typically a LGBTQ+ terminology. Houses are led by "mothers" and "fathers" who are usually older members of the ballroom scene, who are typically drag queens, gay men or transgender women, who provide guidance and support for their house "children". The children of a House are each other's "siblings". House of Love and House of Seas hold balls and the majority of the backup dancers in Chungha's video teach ballroom style choreography which is voguing and waacking.

It's absolutely mesmerising
Chungha really loves and respects the dancers she works with. She does not use the term "backup-dancers" and she loves to highlight them in her choreography. A majority, if not all, of the male dancers have more experience with vogueing and waacking, so that is probably why they have more energy in the dance than some of the female dancers.

I am honestly in LOVE with your reactions as a dancer for 17+ years it’s so nice to here actual technical knowledge and the love for non-“classical” dance styles like waacking. You should check out Seulgi and Irene’s Naughty! They do some super clean vogueing it was so great

the most amazing thing about Chungha and her choreo is actually her height. She's TINY TINY TINY (she's listed at 5'3 but I doubt that seeing her next to idols and actors I've met in person). Her choreo is SO SMART bc she always appears and presents herself so that you don't even notice her height (her arm and leg extensions, her crunches, etc). An inverse comparison is her I.O.I bandmate yoojunng (they're around the same height) and when she dances in Weki Meki you notice how short she actually is bc of the choices in choreo.
