Of course they will and because there is no doubt they will succeed far more often than fail. Even when Tampa beat them in the Superbowl they didn't give up. A lot of teams would have folded. The Jets need to believe and AR gives them that.
Nick has a point, but in order to make it he has to completely ignore what Greg was saying. Nick's point should have been "they're putting the jobs of the entire coaching staff on the line for someone who may not be able to perform at the necessary level for a full season". Even if he doesn't have to play like an MVP, he still has to play like an above average starter for at least 12 weeks just for them to make the playoffs. He had two MVP seasons with the Packers being sacked 50 total times between those seasons. The Jets gave up 64 sacks last season alone. Yes, they added pieces to the OL, but is that enough to eliminate 30 sacks on the year? Because Rodgers turns 41 this season and if his sack total is higher than his age, it's going to be hard for him to perform like an above average starter for 12+ weeks.
The problem with Nick is, the narrative he comes up with in his brain suddenly becomes fact and faith based. All the changes to the rules the NFL has made have made it possible for players like Aaron Rodgers to play longer remember it wasn't a big hit that took Rodgers out for the season because the rules don't allow big hits on quarterbacks anymore a 75 % Aaron Rodgers is a great improvement for what the Jets have had in the pass so enough talk the answers will be played out on the field.
It’s important to remember what actually happened and how we got here. The jets in 2021 hit the reset button and had a young team that weren’t good and went 4-13, they brought in a lot of young talent and in 2022 were obviously a good team on the rise with young talent that was being held back by the quarterback position and also offensive line injuries as the season progressed. The point of getting rodgers was still to be a team that ran the ball and played defense but with a component QB. But getting rodgers was pretty much all they did last offseason and they did much more this off-season. So really these next two years the jets are all in but the jets still want to rely on the defense and the run game. So Aaron is not gonna put up the numbers he’s put up in the past but if he’s just efficient and doesn’t turn the ball over the jets can compete even if he isn’t putting up his typical yards and TD’s. Also this moron keeps saying the jets are pandering to Aaron Rodgers, implying that’s a bad thing. But what’s the alternative, we tried twice to draft QB’s in top 3 just 3 years apart and they both busted. So given that reality, what were the jets supposed to do? We’re stuck with the last 2 years of Aaron Rodgers to try to QB a team that has a solid young core. Might as well make the most of it.
Aaron literally just has to be mid on this Jets team. We we're playoff caliber the last two years if we had average QB production and the 2024 team has more talent IMO

Look, when you’re insisting on being paid 50 million per season. You’re going to have to play with younger, cheaper guys. That’s the economics of the NFL. Guys like Patrick Mahomes and Tom Brady get it. Take a little less and have more money for a a supporting cast. Rodgers and his ego didn’t get the memo. And make no mistake, Rodgers wanted to finish his career in GB. When he finished 8-9 with 28 TD’s and 12 picks the squeeze was no longer worth the juice. He wasn’t worth all the baggage. The conspiracy theories, the anti vax nonsense, the magic tea, the darkness retreats, the book clubs. The Packers couldn’t trade him fast enough. The reality says he’s a 40 year old QB coming off a major injury that was in obvious decline prior to his trade to the Jets. Now if you want to convince yourself he can beat Patrick Mahomes, Josh Allen, or Joe Burrow in the playoffs. Live the fantasy my friend. Right now Aaron Rodgers couldn’t beat out Jordan Love. That tells you all you need to know.
And you’d rather have Aaron Rodgers over Patrick Mahomes? You might be the only person on the planet who feels that way. You do understand the SB eventually goes thru Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs? Do you have any idea what Rodgers playoff record is? As a Packer fan I can tell you it’s awful. And that’s assuming your savior can get you that far. I would temper my expectations….
You sure gloss over a lot in an effort to lay full blame for the Packers lack of playoff success solely on Rodgers. First, “Guys like Mahomes and Brady get it”, ignored the fact that Mahomes signed the biggest QB contract in history at the time, and still have Travis Kelce, Pacheco and Andy Reid. All of the top paid QBs in the league have elite weapons to throw to. Allen/Diggs, Watson/Cooper/Njoku,Chubb, Burrow/Chase/Higgins, Brady/Evans/Gronk/Godwin. This narrative that Rodgers just took too much money is absurd. His contract was the same % of the cap as every other top 10 QB, yet their teams could somehow manage to put competent pass catchers on the field. Rodgers top performing WR from 2022 was Allen Lazard with less than 800 yards, and the GB GM thought going into the season with him as the #1 WR was going to be successful? Just 2 years later, he’s on a different team and at best, he’s the 4th option. Rodgers also has the worst Def/sp Teams EPA of any QB with atleast 12 post season starts. GB defense has been historically atrocious in the playoffs. In Rodgers losses, they gave up an avg of 31 points. GB had 4 of the top 10 worst Def EPA playoff performances since 2008. 28 TDs and 12 picks is virtually identical stat line to Brady’s last year in New England but we’re all supposed to believe that Rodgers talent is in a downward spiral because of 1 avg season marred by injury and a total lack of offensive supporting talent. “Obvious decline” sounds a lot like the same rhetoric they used to explain why Jordan Love was drafted and then he proceeded to win 2 more MVPs.
Dude. What do you mean “AR didn’t get the memo”. He gave back more money to the Jets on his contract than any other player in the history of sports. I’d say he got the memo. He is totally committed to the Jets winning.
If there was a Hall of Fame for sports journalism, Nick Wright wouldn't ever be considered eligible for induction, let alone a FIRST BALLOT candidate. @@lavontrichardson2602even if he’s mediocre the jets win 10 games at the very least
@@lavontrichardson2602lol your words are meaningless. Just stating nonsense with nothing to back it up and you want us to just believe you?
Definitely will be exciting to watch!
Nick is such a hater. He has no idea what he is talking about 😂
I think he just really doesn't like AR
12:43 great points....I switched jobs two years ago and I'm much happier. Rodgers does NOT have to be MVP Rodgers to win with this team. They are SOLID EVERYWHERE. Nick Wright is a hater.... therefore Rodgers is and will be POPPIN!!! J-E-T-S JETS JETS JETS WOOOOOOO!!! 13-4 BTW.
Thank you! I appreciate! Congrats on finding happiness with the "new" job! And I agree. As long as Aaron is healthy and competent I think the Jets will have great success.
NW is just maddening if you're a jets fan or just a football fan...he just misses the point, while any player that played with Rodgers or even last year, the locker room that voted him most inspirational....everyone tell you that AR8 can make THE difference for the Jets, Nick is here just putting for in mouth and hating w/o any fact or reason.
He for sure does not like the Jets or AR
I'm sorry but if that's him on his best behavior that's extremely sad
Huh?
All the changes to the rules the NFL has made have made it possible for players like Aaron Rodgers to play longer remember it wasn't a big hit that took Rodgers out for the season because the rules don't allow big hits on quarterbacks anymore a 75 % Aaron Rodgers is a great improvement for what the Jets have had in the pass so enough talk the answers will be played out on the field.
Without a doubt!
Nick basically hates the Jets or he knows if he hates on them he will get noticed more!
I rather speak the truth! Good or bad!
Aaron literally just has to be mid on this Jets team. We we're playoff caliber the last two years if we had average QB production and the 2024 team has more talent IMO
Completely agree!
Nick is 🤡 but hes also smart because he knows his takes are so absurd that people are going to tune in.
He’s definitely not dumb that’s for sure.
Nick Wright just hates AR, so his comments are not authentic.
He definitely is not a AR fan
I personally hate Nick Wright as a Analyst And Because he's a Chiefs fan And I'm a Die Hard Broncos fan. And the facts that he has a TV Show always baffles me. But I believe Aaron will be Elite but he has to make pass the dolphins because I believe the bills will always be the top dawg in that division because they Have Josh Allen. But hey we'll see.
Haha well yeah, if you’re a broncos fan I can see him being public enemy number 1!
@@JWLSports 🤣 yup The only thing he was right about on my broncos was the Russell Wilson situation but yes he's forever a Enemy 🤣🤣
Nick Wright worse then Stephen A smith man
I'll take Nick over SAS any day haha
Nick is the worst. Such a tool and can’t interpret a simple true statement by Rodgers smh.
He for sure does not like Rodgers
Thank you... AR was injured... Nick is uninformed
Mmhmm
If healthy this team is a true contender the AFC east is average at best except for the JETS!
I think so!
Nick wright and joy Taylor forget they are at the table with ppl who played u lose automatic nuttin to say cant compete at all
Yeah makes no sense.
Nick Wrights juice is sour. He's all talk with no knowledge of football.
Haha he is quite popular on FS1!
Nick is not worth listening to.
Do you not like FTF?
Jets have insane talent. Even if Rodgers is a piece of shit, he's still good at football lol
He definitely still has some good football in him!
Rodgers will be fine with decision making and knowing the playbook it’s all just a matter of can he play in metlife with the questionable turf and if his O-Line can protect him
I think he will be ok.
@@JWLSports I hope so, I am not even a jets fan and I hope they can make it competitive lol I actually felt bad about their QB situation after that Achilles injury
The Jets should have beaten the Chiefs last season but the refs literally gave KC the win with that non holding call on JJ when Mahomes ran it when it was 3&22. Nick is a joke... The refs who favor teams are a joke. Nick said that they were the most over-rated 7win team he ever saw bc they played a bunch of back ups but doesn't regard the fact that the jets were playing their 2nd-3rd and 4th string Qbs all season. I normally do not watch any video he's in..regardless ofd topic.
The refs for sure blew that game. I think with Aaron vs the Chiefs they win without a doubt.
I believe the reality will be somewhere in the middle of nick and the jets optimist regarding rodgers and the jets as a whole
Yeah it will be interesting to see where this all lands.
Go back just a few short years when Nick USED to say that Rodgers was the best QB hes ever seen. Post COVID Nick cant separate his political opinions from his objective sports opinions. th-cam.com/video/KEnz1Jr3oiM/w-d-xo.html
U mean then mahomes came and outperformed him
@@ChiefKT98 even if I grant you that, it’s still a ridiculous heel turn to go from “the best I ever ever seen” to “2nd best I’ve ever seen but totally washed because he talks about non-football stuff on podcast”

Rodgers is overrated
Nick considers him an all time great
Overrated he's the best thrower of the football in history he's got a Super Bowl win he's been to multiple NFC championships. His stats are the basically the best in the history of football, while winning the his division over and over.
@@el34glo59 okay win the division now and when was that sb again
Rodgers is washed
Based on what evidence?
lol exactly
Suuuure he is 😂. Bro save this comment. You guys are in for a huge surprise
@@jamesalba882 based on his last full season he played. Combine that with an Achilles tear at 41 years old.
@@handsanitizer64he’s 40 not 41 and that “last full season” he played with a broken thumb on his throwing hand for 12 weeks and had 3 rookie WRs and Allan Lazard as his 1-4 in the WR room.
We’re talking about the jets with Aaron Rodgers. Not individually. Obviously you rather have Mahomes.
What? lol where did I ever say I rather have Rodgers over Mahomes? 😂
His entire argument is rendered moot by the simple fact that he's a nothing nobody that will not at all be remembered for the greatness he's never achieved. Whereas Aaron Rodgers is already in the history books as one of the greatest throwers of the football to ever exist. No one would ever believe for a second that anyone else's employment at Fox Sports is reliant on Nick Wright's on-air performance. He might as well be saying that the entire country is doomed if he ever forgets to pull his garbage can out to the curb on any given trash day. That's how utterly meaningless his statement is in comparison to Rodgers' claim regarding the Jets.
I don't know, he is really popular as FS1
@@JWLSports It takes a lot more than popularity. Colin Kaepernick is one of the most popular QBs to ever exist. No football aficionado would ever consider him a Hall of Fame candidate.
