The magnitude of the damage You are able to revitalize is impressive Brian. Thank You for the time and efforts to share the process with us. Best Wishes to You and Your Family.
I’m always looking forward to another contribution from Mr. Block and this one is a good opportunity to see the G&L in action. I’m always impressed by the saves you pull off. Thank you for bringing us along.
Always amazed at the large scale of your machines. Especially with my limited training & experience on 9" to 13" lathes & bridgeport type mills. Large machines can do large scale jobs, the right tool for the job, I get it! Thanks Brian for showing what you do.
Brian u need a Turn Table, you might have been able to do all the work in one set up u dont lock spindle in position and feed the (w) table I operated a Lucas DCP 20 with 72 inch travel on X and Y, It was an NC control not CNC YES, TO ALL YOUR TROLLS LAST TIME I COMMENTED IM NOT PICKING ON THIS MAN,would make it alot easier to machine parts like this also have operated a Develeig Jig Mill
Thanks ,for your answer. I have a wmw-union bft 80. I need to cut out the center of wheels of tractors. 1100 mm is the biggest. So this must be possible.
Nice one . Lol , I think you ment " same but different " at the end ! Have you tried Expander pins for the steering , good if the bores are only slightly worn , not completely flogged out ! 👍
Thank you Brian for the video. Would like to see you put that radiant floor heat to use next winter with the installation of a proper boiler (wood). Any additional barn/shop improvement videos on the horizon? Thanks again.
Going to be a popular repair as the hours creep up on those machines. Line boring guys should have work backed up. Maybe you could 3D print some nylon bushings ;-)
That HBM is sure paying for itself, would be a lot more hours trying to do that with a line boring rig. Do you ever rebuild bores with hard facing weld?
No. If you used hard face I don’t think you could machine it with much short of a grinder. Maybe cbn would cut it but it hates intermittent cuts and there usually is a lot of that in a welded bore. You ever bored hard face?
That is what I said a guy with a good burn table and some fixtures could probably build one in the time it took me to repair it. That being said it of course would have still needed the machine work so…… Regardless I work with the tools I have so it’s the route I took.
@@bcbloc02 Can and want you advice me how to out the center of the tractor wheels. I have this wmw-union horizontal borer, bought it ,10 years ago, but never did nothing with it. I want to pay for your advice. I am a mechanical engineer, but we produce now 40 years steelconstructions. A new client comes now with this wheels, this has the potential to become a big client.
The owner of that part sure knew the right place to get the job done right.

You brought that thing back from the grave! Nice work as always Brian.
You never cease to amaze me! Us John Deere owners would be lost without you!
That thing was a few thou from being a total goner. Great work.
Thanks 👍

very good job Brian..thanks for your time
Another nice job there Brian. Seems to be a bit of runout on that small boring bar.
It is deflection from being hung out so far.
Nice job as always.
Nice job Brian.
Thanks for sharing.
Hope they pay you good for this job. This piece is dam near ready for the scrap tub.
Looks like it was only a week or two from the scrap yard. But they brought it to you just in time to revive it for another run

9000 series is a big boy shows what weight and horsepower does after a time. What year model did that come out of?

@@bcbloc02 - I have not. Given what you said, I'll know better than to try now :)
looks like a ton of work, but came out nice overall
Nice!

Yo bri
Hope it all went to plan..
👍🏻
Kentucky windage and elevation strikes again.Another silk purse made out of a sows ear with the big long silky sow boring rig. Blessings
Once again...VOILA...
Question is there a sign outside your shop that reads "Block machining" There should be. Just saying
Nope. Word of mouth is plenty of advertising I don’t need to look for more work! 😂
@@bcbloc02 Excellent glad to hear that.
At what point do you just cut the plates off and start over?
That is what I said a guy with a good burn table and some fixtures could probably build one in the time it took me to repair it. That being said it of course would have still needed the machine work so…… Regardless I work with the tools I have so it’s the route I took.
Sir how big is the biggest hole you can make 1000mm?
@@dikvandersar6267 probably 1200mm easy but if I got creative I think I could go as large as 2000mm as long as the depth didn’t need to be a lot,

@@dikvandersar6267 do you have access to a large rotary table and some big angle plates?
@@bcbloc02 Yes the machine has a table 1500x1500 mm. I have angla pl;ates 1500x 600 mm
@@dikvandersar6267 with a big rotary table easiest way is center rim on that then use endmill to go around the wheel and cut center loose.
Who says you can’t polish a turd😀. That was a lot of different set ups and steps to save that piece
Was there anything not wrong with this?
Barely, mainly that it still had 1000lbs of steel to work with. LOL
and after you finish trippin over everything,. you can do some work...?
ABOM WHO?
Makin them round and accurate again. Beautiful work!
