Marines are hard-charging warfighters, renowned for stepping up and succeeding when challenged, effectively leading subordinates, and maintaining the highest of naval and military tradition.
FROM A 74 YEAR MARINE THAT SERVED IN VIETNAM TWICE. SO MANY MEN AND WOMEN MARINES CAME BEFORE ME AND MEN AND WOMEN MARINES WILL SERVE WITH HONOR AFTER ME. THAT SAID THE CORPS IS THE CORPS AND CORPS WILL ALWAYS BE THE CORPS! SEMPER FI
hacksaw8214 -- Finally someone that makes me feel young. This 73 year old Marine had one tour in Vietnam 67-68. Welcome home brother. I am also proud of all those young Marines that uphold the legacy of the Old Breed. Semper Fi to all of you and come home safe. You need to replace us as the example for all those Marines that follow you in our proud Corps.
Having served with a Infantry Battalion and having our Company assigned as a Raider Company, I know we got to do more then the average Infantry unit. Scout Swimmer, Sniper training, advance Recon training, Special fast boat and zodiac Training. Search and rescue, recovery operations. the list goes on and on. Marines do it all because Marines are in the forefront of all operations. We work with the Navy Seals, and having gone through a condensed Seal training course,No jokeSeals have my respect
Being a Fox Raider was probably the highlight of my 4 years. Zodiak training was actually fun and I enjoyed riding in the boats. Felt great on a hot day.
Marines think of them selves as the best, because they are the best. It's said that their training course is one of the hardest in the world. If that doesn't say training I don't know what does, and discipline is incorporated in with the training.
Every President should have serviced as a marine its the only way to sure that he can lead a country. You cant expect a lawyer to be successful in leading a country of 320 mill people, if he has never lead a 8-man-team before. with best regards Danish Lrrps
buddy i aint been on the internet for 4 days now but its good to hear you say this because just the other day i told the navy recruiter that i like the navy but my heart is more in the marine corps. ive been seriously reconsidering but this helps me out alot.
It's very upsetting to me to read all the negative comments about this WONDERFUL, EDUCATIONAL VIDEO....MUCH LOVE ALWAYS TO THE MARINE CORPS...!!!!! GOD BLESS AMERICA.....!!!!!!!
im not american but i have great respect for the marines and i thank you for protecting all of the western civilization. greetings and respect from Canada
Platoon dropout rates are +/- about 40 percent. But they recycle you until you complete it. They tell you up front, "There's only two ways off this island. Across the parade deck, or broke." If they have to, they'll keep you there indefinitely. My platoon started with 94 recruits, and we graduated about 85. That was with about 30 recruits that got cycled in at various points throughout training.
Marines are the first ones in. Hence why the Marines are the invasion force, and the Army is the occupying force. The Marines plow the path, and the Army is right behind them following the beaten trail. The Marines are the best because they get the job done quickly, and efficiently.
Sophmore... Already getting ready. It's been a dream.... To bad my school doesn't have an ROTC program. But anyways Semper Fi to all of the few to make it through the crucible.
Recon does a toned down version of BUD/S drownproofing, It's not about being in the water, it's about keeping your mental cool. "growing up" in the water doesn't mean you won't panic when your hands are tied and you're thrown into a pool.
Exactly! I have seen (I should say heard, im not a Recon Marine) people who grew up on the water freak out and nearly fail at that point compared to people who grew up in Oklahoma and passed without flinching.
MARINES, we don't have to say anything about our Corps to anyone outside of our Corps. Stop wasting time on these non-heckers, There are only two things of people who understand Marines..... Other Marines and those who have met us in combat. Done, end of story, As you were.
The initial water test is tough but easy if you can tread water for about an hour, and you can run 5 miles and do all kinds of crazy shit...you will find out soon but the water part is really tough.
For those who want to become Marines don't think that just cuz we are always the first to fight doesn't mean you see alot of action. Have had five trips to afghan so far and for two trips I hadn't fired my weapon, your more likely to see more action at home than in the Marines. But be a stud, you need to wat it to become a Marine-SEMPER FI-GOD BLESS AMERICA
One thing that I noticed about youtube, army navy and airforce have talked shit about the marines, I can say I have never seen a marine talk shit back, only bring up history as a learning point and getting the person to shut up, other then that no rudeness, as much as the opposing side deserves it, this says alot about marines and their character, that it does not change even when on the internet, that is how you spot a marine, or a phony.
It's funny, everyone thinks that until they arrive on those yellow footprints. One thing I promise you is that if you do man up and go to recruit training(let alone recon), you *will* be challenged like never before no matter how prepared you think you are. It is 100% worth it though, and among the best decisions I have ever made. Good luck, I sincerly wish you the best.
i am an american 15 year old and cant wait until i am able to join and i do think you may be able to join as soon as you are an american citizen 17 years or older
I hate how people think they know everything, you should do a little research on both organizations before making a statement like that. Marines spearhead an operation, Navy Seals deal with special operations. A successful operation could not be done by a single entity within the US Military, they are all combined/compliment each other. Also you might want to look into the MACV-SOG and CIA SOG and 1st SFOD-D.
magicalpoop Yes, true. First of all, the Army, as well as the Government don’t even acknowledge that Delta Force exists, and most people of never heard of CIA-SOG, let alone anything about them
By now you're at boot camp. Sadly, you won't see this until you get back, but stay strong! All of America (or at least everyone that matters) is rooting for you. I'm sure your family is proud of you. I leave in a couple of months myself, see you on the battle field brother! Semper Fi!
Marines are trained for a total of 18 weeks no matter what they're MOS is, an additional 8 weeks are added to this number if your in an Infantry MOS, the Army on the other hand are trained for about 8 weeks and an additional 8 weeks if they're infantry, a good friend of my joined the Army Rangers (a version of special forces in the Army) and after he got out he had only trained as much as the Marine Corps average infantry man
@STUIPEDCHICKEN Like the oft cited quote says "Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean." It's not your size that counts. It's your mentality, like Smurf stated.
Once a marine always a marine. No Marine is a bad ass without his brother in arms, wether that be a support MOS, or an MOS that is behind the lines as does SO-COM. We are a phalanx. Please do not let the pride you have get in the way of the facts. We all need each other not matter what the MOS. The puzzle is not complete without every Marine perfoming their duties to the best of their ability. SEMPER FIDELIS
Is there any way possible to get an age waiver approve at the age of 37 to join the Marine Reserves without prior service? Or is there anyone in the Marines an officer or someone with rank that I could submit a petition to ,for this to be consider? Or is there any way possible to join if I could get may Congressman to submit a petition for me.
fuck my original branch of choice was the marine corps but im getting set to join the navy. and seeing this is seriously making me reconsider the marine corps.
The SAS (special air service) and the SBS (special boat service) are the best trained, they might not be the best equipped, but they are the best trained.
@antguida88 You know any way for me to get back in, I received a medical discharge when I went def in my left ear from an R.P.G. So far I haven't found a way if you know any I'd like to know. Thank you Semper Fi

Same here man! Semper Fi! Dec. 17th can't wait!!!
Marines think of them selves as the best, because they are the best. It's said that their training course is one of the hardest in the world. If that doesn't say training I don't know what does, and discipline is incorporated in with the training.
All true Marines are dying to get to the fight...even if they've already been there.
Thank you to the navy seals, marines, airforce and everyone else who gives their lives
I'm going to basic training later this year. This video boosted my excitement, these traditions and values are what I want to represent and uphold🦅🌎⚓

I only regret not going infantry.
Air force or marines or any branch of the military we all say thank you for you dedicated service thank you for serving our country.

So true. I know one recruit that was at MCRD for 18 months the only way you going to get out of boot camp is you graduate or get severely hurt

I'm a freshman in high school but I want to go to the Naval Academy and be commisioned into the Marines. I've wanted to be a Marine for a while.

Music from C&C Generals! Nostalgia.
Semper Fidelis....from Italy
I have never in my life heard of anyone backing out of the Air force to join the corps. Its usually the other way around. So oorah to you
Love the music. Someone played command and conquer generals.

Oorah marines after high-school I'm hoping to be one of the few the proud
USAF Para-jumpers garter a lot of respect in any branches book. You should look into into it if you're 'disappointed' with the airforce.
@ELITELazyMoDz yes
Where can I find more videos like this
@STUIPEDCHICKEN
Like the oft cited quote says "Marines come in two varieties, big and mean, or skinny and mean." It's not your size that counts. It's your mentality, like Smurf stated.
this pretty much describes my way of life, even though I'm not a marine.
GOD, Country, Corps! Semper Fidelis!
In the video there's a group of Marines that are on smal boats. Are they apart of a special force and if so what is it?
I play Call of Duty. I am 11 and I wanna join the Military USMC even though I''m Canadian. Semper Fi, Oohrah. I'm positive about my future.
I agree that the Marines are the most elite of the branches, but the SEALs are the Navy's best of the best, and that's due to their training.
Once a marine always a marine. No Marine is a bad ass without his brother in arms, wether that be a support MOS, or an MOS that is behind the lines as does SO-COM. We are a phalanx. Remember one thing. Marines fight for the Constitution. Not the Government. Its in the Marine Corps oath that every Marines has taken and will take.
i too just backed out the air force DEP to join the Marines! i want to be part of the fight!
The background music sounds like command and conquer: Generals 😅.
Ductus Exemplo. Semper Fi.

Well it's kinda hard for the recruiter to judge whether a person will like it or not lol that takes knowing them personally for a good amount of time.
I WILL BE A MARINE! HOORAAAH!!!!!
ooh rahh brother
All it takes is to watch a documentary on each to know that the SEALs get put through quite a bit more hell.
I know you all believe. Never Give Up. Never Quit. To the new world 🗺.
fuck my original branch of choice was the marine corps but im getting set to join the navy. and seeing this is seriously making me reconsider the marine corps.
SEMPER FI MARINES! OOH RAH!
