You only scratched the surface of Rotterdam, there is so much more to see. Like the Boymans Van Beuningen museum, the Euromast , the Wilhelminapier area with Hotel New York, the Fenix Food Factory at Katendrecht and the boat tour of the modern harbour, but there is so much more

For me personally… I’d love for the tourists to stay in Amsterdam, but curious travelers should travel around the Netherlands. Utrecht, The Hague, Nijmegen, Groningen, Maastricht are all fun cities to explore too. So many fun places to see. 😊

We do not really call these things food. Stroopwafel is eaten with a cup of coffee or tea. Bitterballen are eaten late in the afternoon after work with a beer, good reason not yet to go home. Kapsalon is an 1800 calories, great when you are in a hurry. Keep up the good work mate

We loved your video. This is the way TH-cam videos on travel should be done.
We will be traveling to the Netherlands this October and really couldn't decide whether to stay in Amsterdam or Rotterdam. Your video really helped us make our choice. It will be Rotterdam. Thank you so much.

Thank you for sharing your travels! I would love if you started with the date and weather. Also, I haven't seen anything about where you stay and how you traveled to each place. Lots of food! I'm not as adventurous as y'all, but I love hearing the descriptions. Thanks again.

As a tourist in Rotterdam on a bad weather day, try a Metro round trip; check out the subway stations that look interesting and just skip the uninteresting ones. Trust me, quite a few subway stations are well worth a look.

And my first appartement I bought a couple of doors further down the road from where kapsalon was invented. That was in 1989.
I know Delfshaven very well. Bring Americans there, since the Pilgrim fathers departed there, heading towards England to board the Mayflower.

At a lot railway stations in NL you can hire the OV-fiets. It is not expensive and makes you more flexible in (or just outside) cities!

Rotterdam may be a little underrated because of its reputation and -- for Dutch standards -- high crime rate but it definitely isn't one of the best cities here, in my opinion. And I live there. The city itself has its charms but personally I don't like the design choices... Especially the way old architecture is mixed with new like over on Kop van Zuid and Blaak. It often times obstructs (or detracts from) the view on more classic landmarks. It's all over the place. You can't deny the city is a unique one, though. But I feel Amsterdam, Utrecht, Haarlem, Leiden among other smaller towns all rank above Rotterdam in that they are more appealing to the eye.
I will say though, Delfshaven is a hidden gem that is often overlooked by tourists. It actually used to be part of Delft back in the Dutch Golden Age.

Instead of Amsterdam, go to Utrecht, Groningen and Maastricht. Also you can look into the "'Hanzesteden"' Search for Dutch Hanzesteden.

We love Utrecht! One of the best train museums we've ever been to. The Hanseatic dutch cities look beautiful! Definitely adding them to a list to visit. Thanks!!

Regarding Indonesian food. The best places to go for Indonesian food are The Hague, Voorburg and Rijswijk (in that order). Although there are a lot very fine Indonesian restaurants (or better: toko’s) in the Netherlands, the best are in the above. There is even a Toko top-50. So maybe for your next trip visit The Hague 😊

There are other old areas in Rotterdam, like the old North, Kralingen, Scheepvaartskwartier, large parts of Rotterdam West that were not bombed as well. Only the centre was pretty much bombed. Downtown Rotterdam centre prior to the bombing on May 14th 1940, th-cam.com/video/Bbc_SYVB56c/w-d-xo.html.

When I first saw your reaction to eating something you obviously didn't like in the start of the video, I assumed you were eating herring from a street vendor. I've never seen anyone react like that to bitterballen/kroketten. Try it with mayo next time instead of mustard.

In Amsterdam the crowds don't visit the canals that are very historic and filled with 17th century houses and gardens as well if one should walk further-on.
(Amsterdam has about 90 MILES of historic canals and 1500 bridges.)
Tourists just cross the canals for the 'highlights'.
Amsterdam has the biggest 17th century innertown in the world.
    a paradise for historians.
19th-century renewals of almost every European capital skipped Amsterdam because it simply became poor and the fact that the Netherlands had no king (first republic as a federal nation, before France and then the U.S.)
thus no 'grandeur', left old cities as they still can be found through-out the land with many medieval
    buildings, castels and churches.
Rotterdam was whiped-out by the nazi's in may 1940.
So you can tell it had to rebuilt the city-centre by scratch. But often aestheticly pleasing.
If you like urban-planning as it has become in the last decade or so.
Nice to watch this vid !!
    🌹💕

Kinderdijk has nothing to do with Rotterdam, its a part of Molenlanden a different area.
The ugly thing about the low beautyful vallaeys is the ugly buildings of Rotterdam in the Horizon
