Will we be seeing a wrap up review of Sean’s Aulani stay? We are planning a summer visit and would love to hear what other things he did on the island, how the other luau was, and Covid changes he experienced.
I hope they throw in some kind of perk related to transportation from MCO now that Magical Express is going away. Some kind of discount would be great.
I’ve had DVC since 2015 and I’ve never been able to time a moonlight magic event. Being here in California, I don’t view moonlight magic as a perk for anyone other than Florida residents and those who live within a 2 hour plane ride.
I believe Disney is fine with those having points they’re unable to use renting them as the “creative” solution. It gets people into the parks to spend money, and introduces more potential buyers to DVC. I don’t believe they’ll do anything above and beyond this. I also agree that many families/individuals had additional revenue from not eating out, taking trips, going to movies, thus allowing them to purchase DVC on the resale market. In addition, more people are on TH-cam and Facebook while they’re home. They’re seeing these videos and considering DVC. 🤔 No matter what 2021 brings to DVC I want everybody to be able to return to Disney safely. I can’t wait to stand in a crowded fireworks 🎇 show again. 😎🌴
I think people are really going to struggle with availability this year and next. With so many folks having banked points from 2020, and in some cases even rolling over their 2019 banked points, there are going to be a lot of people with a LOT of points, trying to book in the same number of days (obviously). At this point, the 11 month window almost reaches the end of 2021. If you haven't already booked, there is a good chance you are going to have to piece together split stays everywhere other than SSR, OKW, and maybe AKL for much of the year. And if you aren't interested in staying at/when the resorts are available, you'll probably end up banking and maybe STILL running in to the same problem next year. This could be a frustrating couple of years for DVC members.
I think you hit it on the head! We are booked for late Nov/early Dec and are thinking about trying to move resorts at the 7 month window, but I'm not holding my breath that there will be availability.
truth thats why im going in march and booked last year knowing that the longer you get into 2021 the harder it will be to find rooms you want. especially because the hotel side of a lot of the deluxe resorts are still closed, people are renting points more to stay in the resort they like in a villa. i see people on the rent boards asking for certain resorts in the next month and its no gonna happen
How about allowing DVC members getting free dessert parties. Use points for extras like parties, firework cruises, etc. May not be a good use of points but better than wasting them.
Can’t agree with Fiasco. March and April are pretty dried up in the one and two bedroom categories, except for perennial always space Saratoga Springs had a couple. May getting tight as well. I think we are all sick of hiding and want to get out and Disney seems the safest bet by far.
I know it doesn't wirk that way in a normal world, but wouldn't it make sense for DVC to allow those guest willing to borrow more points than 50% even if it's not on the amenities they bought, to use the points in another deluxe resorts in WDW? Cause the build up points by the end of 2021 will be imposible to manage later...
I probably missed it, but I would like to see a show addressing all the modifications DVC had to make in response to the pandemic. I heard mentioned today banking issues, availability... What else are DVC owners facing? FYI, per @thelostant, while writing this comment, that's two shots for me!
Disney Springs at night was horrible and Orlando Airport was very poor. otherwise everything else Disney looked decent and at least attempting to go extra mile compared to others. (All in regards to the illness) I do feel like dining outside the parks was surprisingly poor considering reservations were very competitive to obtain which was my largest annoyance. I really was trying to be realistic too.
I'm not a DVC person; I have rented a few times. I have a friend who is a DVC member. Now, I've heard of these people with expiring points not knowing what to do with them. Me, personally, see the dangling carrot as your Aulani. I was so jealous when Sean showed he was just in Hawaii where it's cold everywhere else. Hawaii is always that place that is for most people just out of reach. If through DVC, you can find it more attainable. You'd get my attention. Like, yes you can buy your membership wherever you want, but because your a DVC member, we have a special just for you for our Aulani. Who doesn't love a luau???
As a DVC member, the main deterrent for going to Aulani, is the airfare, not the points value. We are a family of 5, and at $1000. or more per person for round trip airfare is too much for us.
Can you tell me what is the absolute minimum points and the least expensive resort buying direct from DVC just to get a foot in the door. And are you financing for 5 years 10 years? We go 3 times a year but are always like, we can’t afford DVC.
i believe its 100 point minimum buy in direct with Disney. No minimum if you buy resale. Cheaper resorts tend to be Saratoga Springs, Boulder Ridge as they only have fewer years left on the contract but you also need to consider the annual dues - some of the cheaper resorts (Vero Beach) have the highest annual dues by far
I think DVC had a lot on money coming in because the non DVC resorts we closed and now a few are open so I think DVC had made more revenue then just breakage.
People are moving to SC and FL because they can work from home and or they lost their jobs so why not get away from the cold snow. SC is booming like Florida people coming from the northeast. We have no jobs. Our unemployment rates are up. Hotels and restaurants are wide open but running barely staffed. Most hotels here in MB either fired their GM and sales directors and replaced them with middle mgmt people or demoted their pay and put them doing mgmt and desk duties. We have 1/3 the staff we had 10 months ago. And there are no plans to rehire anytime soon. There is a big chunk of economy that’s hurting and a good size that got through the illness unscathed or actually did well because of it. 2021 and 2022 are gonna be interesting to watch.
I took a drink every time someone said “dvcrentalstore.com”. Never doing that again at 10am
Sean, the zombie apocalypse comment is one of the funniest things I’ve heard on the DIS. Been listening for years. Thanks y’all!

Good point on spa opening Fiasco--I'm going to bet you're spot on. They can open. Massages can be given by the masseuse wearing a mask as can facials.

Low cost DVC idea... Build a couple cabin loops that are DVC specific inside Fort Wilderness.
Always look forward to Monday!
Just rented out my points with DVC Rental Store today! As an owner, it has been easy to do. Plus, there is lots of availability right now!!
Sean made me giggle today 😂🤍❤️

DVC might have trouble if passholder totally went away.
I would love to be able to buy the resort art. I understand there’s a kiosk on WDW property where it can be purchased but I’d love to buy it online.
Please address why wait times ob the member services phone lines have grown to over 1.5 hours. I don’t stand in line that long at the parks!

I got unsubscribe and I didn't do it. I am glad to find your channel again Pete!

I'd love to rent my points out but that brings me tax implications I believe as I'm not American.
There are also tax implications in the U.S. too

You gotta be specific about "the c word" !!

Hey Linda! I think that the minimum for direct purchases is 125 points.

Linda the minimum points is currently 125. You can ask the DVC representative what is currently the lowest price.
DVC Machete for the zombie apocalypse.

Availability is drying up this coming fall, Nov is getting tight
How about DVC boarding pass for Rise of Resistance or new Star Wars hotel stays
The more dvc videos come out the more it bugs me.....what Disney character do you think she was "friends" with? Tink? Cinderella?

Great show as always. Marrissa Vallotton might be the most beautiful woman I've ever seen.
The
The blonde lady has her shit together. I see why nick hired her. Id have bought more points if she was my guide.
