There is a group of mixed race people in the mountains of USA who believe they are descendants of Queen Nzinga of Angola .
In the 1600s a man from Angola arrived in Virginia USA . He was able to speak Portuguese and explained he was Queen nzinga secret son. They allowed him to take his manlangu (kimbundu for watercraft friends) up the mountain along with an Irish woman and told him to never come back down. And they are still up there. They are called melungeons.
