It’s very interesting to ponder how many species ACTUALLY existed compared to the dinosaur species we’ve uncovered to this day. For all we know, there could have been millions of species more than what we found, and don’t even get me started on what could have been underwater as well. Paleontology is a fascinating career, and it’s nice to see that it’s actually improving and not becoming less popular as technology takes over.

    When was Meraxes gigas discovered?
Meraxes was originally discovered in Patagonia in 2012 but it has taken years of preparation to finally excavate and analyse the specimen. The huge, carnivorous dinosaur belonged to the Carcharodontosauridae family, a group of giant meat-eating theropods.

Yes, no matter what anyone can argue it’s not fair comparing a T. rex and any other theropod. A T. rex is just smarter, heavier, has a more powerful butte, better vision, surprisingly better agility, it’s just not fair to compare them. Carcharodontosaurids like giga were built to take down sauropods with slashing bites and T. rex was designed for taking down armoured prey like ankylosaurus and triceratops. It wouldn’t have much of an issue with a giga or anything else
