    Should I keep both Stradales or sell one to fund other projects ? ....if so which one RHD Black or LHD Silver ?

      If the Silver one was RHD I’d keep that one … however selling it you could properly bling out the black one

    About the button: you can order online a duplicate silicone mold system for £40. Another cool option is to turn one in aluminum on a lace. Would be nicer then a plastic one and pretty easy to do?

      @@Ratarossa You can also put the red button in silver stradale and stick or glue it there since now it match perfectly with the red interior,
      while the old black car will match with yellow bits (scuderia shields, brake calipers and yellow tachometer).. so there will be ok the yellow starter.. ;0)

    Yellow callipers.
    And for the button, I’ll suggest to 3D print using resin printer, not filament. Search for the difference, with resin you get the super nice finish.I’ve worked with both technologies

As for should you sell one? I had been wondering about that. The only reason I would recommend against the yellow calipers is that, under heavy braking with CCB and how hot they get, the yellow finish will tend to turn brown over time. Red and black will show the heat aging a lot less than yellow.

  • @steveos6472
    @steveos6472 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    If you measure it up it that button would be easy enough to print... same with the surround. Just need the OD, ID and thickness. Size of text. Same with the surround though would need a picture of the surround.
    Both items should be made of ABS and vapor smoothed. Might take a few goes to get perfect but is definitely doable. Then would require paint. Like someone else suggested already - you could also get it resin printed.
    For what it is - someone may even be able to CNC it for you from plastic also. Heaps of options and whoever does it will probably be able to offload more than one.

    Have you ever thought about tackling a manual conversion? I would be interested to see everything that's involved. With the prices of gated manuals soaring (at least in the US), it might be more cost effective for many enthusiasts to convert an F1 car to a manual versus paying the premium for a factory gated car.

    For the button make a simple silicone mold and cast the button in tinted red urethane plastic. This can be done without fancy casting methods, open face mold, no pressure tank needed but always preferred. Then just paint the black letters with enamel or acrylic lacquer paint. Don’t paint the cast part red as the paint will wear off and show the natural urethane. Don’t 3D print a new part either as it will show build lines and the paint will wear off too. Let me know if I can help your project.

    I suggested yellow calipers last time around and based on that image from the registry you showed, I’d say I was right! 😁
    That said…looking at your black strad with its yellow calipers, I kinda had a slightly mad idea. I happen to think red on black is a great look and you happen to have red calipers and yellow calipers, so why not swap them from one car to another? I recall that bleeding the brakes on an older Ferrari is it’s own special hell, but if you are willing to put in the elbow grease you could get it done at no additional cash outlay.
