- The music in this video (first tune) is an original beat created by Nanny. It has a copyright and may not be used without written permission.
I have found out since I created this video that the Sumac is a Fragrant Sumac not a Stag horn Sumac.
I have found out with the help of Kim Goren that the Milkweed is Redwing Milkweed and, with some research I discovered it does not seed as plentiful as other milkweed so the seeds are quite rare. So I may be selling some of these in my Etsy store. More information to come later.
After some research I am thinking that the last UFO is maybe a Slender Mountain Mint. I will know more after it blooms.

Other music in the video is free use music on TH-cam
the harp tune is "What shall we do with the drunken sailor"
Nanny they look like tame blueberries, I wander if that's a opossum grape vine, I'm going to say, who ever homesteaded Years ago, planted all that great stuff , great foraging! Xoxoxo
I'm with your Lori, I believe so too. I will do more research on the opossum grape vine, I have heard of them but have no real experience with them myself. Thanks a bunch.
Nice property, interesting plants and flowers.
Thanks
Thanks for the tour!
Welcome
Love your frog swing
Thanks
Lovely place you have! I used to have a squirrel on a tire swing! Love your frogs!
I bet that squirrel was a cute one. I love my lil frogs.Garage sale find.
Best kind of finds!
Hi. Loved walking through your place. I cannot help you identify anything, but sure like looking. I am learning everyday.
Awesome!
Nice tour of your place and the plants you have.
Thanks, more to come.
I LOVE those little milkweed plants. I’d love to know what variety it is. You should sell the seeds. I’d buy some for sure!
I would suggest contacting your county agent and asking him to help you identify some of your UFOs.
Kim Goren another commenter pointed out that she thought they were Redring Milkweed, when I looked it up, sure enough, they looked exactly like mine. When they seed I will let you know and I'll send you some for nothing. They are so very pretty, when you rub your finger over them like I did in the video, they feel like wax. Its so cool.
Oh my goodness! Thank you so very much!! I’ve started a small pollinator garden and they’ll be a great addition.
Great video as always.
Thanks Tex.
its great discovering what nature has to offer
Amen brother.
That would be awesome to find blueberries on the property! Makes me want to go through the woods looking for edible plants and wild flowers! 🥀🏵🍎🌱 Love your video!
Yang Homestead you should. You never know what you might find?
Hi Nanny! Ufos haha😄 How about some blueberry muffins! Yum
Jennifer, now your talking girl.
Isn't it fun finding clues to previous inhabitants of your land? 😊
Yes it is, I found an ancient old hand made nesting box in the woods, I got to digging around and found a house bridle, parts to an old wood cook stove and other cool things. I LOVE IT!
@@hootnannyhomestead8338 I just found a piece to a wood cook stove, too! I didn't expect to find anything in that spot, it was next to the power pole. I was digging up some dock.
Are you sure you're not the hoot? You are such a joy and I really enjoyed this video from start to finish. I see blueberry pancakes in your future. I don't know what you have there either. If/when you find out, please let us know. Nice garden and nice property. Lots of goodies. Be blessed Nanny!
Hey friend, Glad you liked it...I have been called Hoot before but I like Nanny best..lol Blueberry pancakes FOR SURE. I will let you know.
Nice video dear friend 👌👌👌👌
Thanks
Can you please upload a video on how to use the old maytag wringer washer?? My husband and I are about to move back to the country and build our own cabin. I've been loving your channel!
Amanda thank you so much for your support. I have planned to do that before to long. I was pushing hard to get the washroom construction done first. So that when I make the wringer washer video series the washroom would be looking complete. This isn't a series that will be easy to make (lots of camera angles and lots of information) so I don't want to do it twice. Lol. What I would love for you to do is ask all the questions you want and I will address them in the videos. Feel free to email them to me or in comments. Thanks again my friend.
I read the title I was thinking I can help with this Ive seen The Xfiles and reruns a million times. 😂😆We just started it over. Lol. Lovely property great footage thanks for sharing
Oooo haha now thats tooooo funny. If I ever do see that kind of UFO's I know who to call. lol
Oh I love Foraging Videos!!! Thanks for sharing!! OH what a blessing blues berries!!! We grow blues, fresh off the bush is the best way to eat them!! You might want to move the other blue berries out of the shade and in to more light!!
Sorry I can't really identify any of you wild plants. 🙁 I hope someone else can help you! ~ Ms K
Yeah I do plan on moving them as soon as I get a place in the berry patch cleared. Where the rose bush was is where I plan on clearing for the berry patch, and you saw how big the saplings and over growth was there. NASTY. Lots of work to be done.
Wonder if it could be a first yr plantain
It's looked exactly like that every year since we first bought the place. So I don't think so..but thanks for thinking outside the box.
Your property is stunning , the only plants on mine are dandelions . I had to smile when you showed us your frogs .
Swinging frogs...I saw that at a garage sale one day and about freaked out...it reminded me of when my daughter and I use to swing together when she was little. Thanks friend.
It does look like plaintain
I will buy the milk weed for my area please thank you. If you are able to.I love you with the LOVE of our Lord. CHOW from MICHIGAN. I ENJOYED my walk with you.
Thank you darling, When it seeds I will let you know and send some your way.

Funny, you better get to probing...lol
Redring milkweed!
Well dear Lord....DUH....it was just that easy. LOL I'm laughing at myself..Thanks Kim
👍🏼👍🏼. ☮️💜😺
Thanks
I was laughing so gard at the beginning of your video! I'm just starting to learn foraging,so i am careful.Big Bear Homestead did a video about Single Dads visit and they identified a plant that looked like one of yours i believe as wild fennel? Check it out
Yeah I saw that video pop up I just hadn't found the time to watch it...gotta go do that. Thanks
The milkweed is White Milkweed. I'm thinking you might also have some wild dill.
Someone else said Redring milkweed and after looking it up I think it may go by both names. But the Dill, I looked up wild dill in a lot of books and online and it just don't look exactly like mine. Maybe it's another variety of wild dill. Thanks for your help mimi.
@@hootnannyhomestead8338 Redring and white are the same plant. The plantain could be Fuzzy Plantain but I can't find any pictures to show you. I had never heard of it before but I'm up in the Great Lakes/ plains area of Indiana so it could be we don't have them.
I showed a picture of fuzzy plantain in the video and why I believe that isn't it. Thanks Mimi
@@hootnannyhomestead8338 Ha hahaaa did not catch that part.
